‘Dharmantar’ a new film based on Politics launched

Known for his hit Political thriller in Marathi during 90s; film maker Ujwal Thengadi has now launched his new Political film ‘Dharmantar’ recently. Produced under his own banner ‘Om films’, ‘Dharmantar’ will begin its shooting shortly. In this film, Mr. Ujwal will be taking care of 14 different sections, including Story, screenplay, dialogues, lyrics and music.
The film’s star cast comprises of Dr. Vilas Ujavane, Sharad Ponkshe, Smita Tambe, Ashwini Ekbote, ranjit Jog, Vikas Patil, Hemangi Kavi, Fayyaz, Parag Ajgaonkar, Ujwal Thengadi and Sulochana Didi. Editing by Dilip Kotalgi and cinematography by Ajay Arya are other credits.
Ketaki bags title role in ‘Taani’

After impressing with her peformances in films like ‘Shala’ and ‘ kaksparsha’, collegian ketaki Mategaonkar has now bagged a title role in a forthcomg Marathi film ‘Taani’. This is a story of a struggle faced by father and daughter in their life. Made under the banner of V.Patke Films, ‘Taani’ is produced by Ajay Thakur and Vandana Patke Thakur and directed by Sanjeev Kolte. Shooting of this film begins from 1st week of january 2013.
Third Eye Asian festival begins

The eleventh edition of Third eye Film festival began at P.L. Deshpande Mini Theatre yesterday. Present on the occasion were President of the Organising committee Mr. Kiran Shantaram, Mr. Laxmikant Deshmukh, Mr. Sudhir Nandgaonkar and other dignitaries from film world.
This year there will be 38 films in the feature film section and 27 in short film section. In Marathi section, there are films like ‘Sanjparawa’, ‘Ajinkya’, ‘Chimanipakhare’and ‘Anumati’. This year’s festival will be a tribute to late Smita Patil, whose film ‘Bhumika’ directed by Shyam benegal, will be shown during the festival.
Shooting of ‘Maat’ begins with Eesha- Sameer

After signing Eesha koppikar for her debut Marathi film ‘Maat’, producer Manali Sawant and director Manohar Sarwankar have begun the shooting of their film ‘Maat’ at Film City. On Friday afternoon, director Manohar Sarwankar and Cinematographer Nirmal Jani picturised few important scenes of this film, on a specially decorated huge set. This well decorated set gave clear indication that the producer had not compromised on expenses required for the purpose. The participants also comprised of elite crowd forming part of the audience for a ‘Beauty Contest’ scene. Even the judges engaged for the show looked natural; one of them almost resembling former Police Commissioner of Mumbai.
With his long experience in Bollywood, cinematographer Nirmal Jani used his Camera skills to quickly finish some of the scenes with other participants, before the arrival of Eesha koppikar and Sameer Dharmadhikari. When both of them arrived, they looked a perfect couple suited to the film’s script, clearly indicated with their costumes.In this film, Eesha Koppikar is playing a beauty queen, who wins this contest and introduces her husband( played by Sameer Dharmadhikari) , who is also present during the contest. Sameer plays a Chief Engineer in this film, who handles big national and international projects.
The other artistes of this film comprise of Suhas Palshikar, Manjusha Godse, Meghana Vaidya, Suruchi Adkar & others. Based on the story of Tejaswini Pandit the screenplay and dialogues of this film are written by Sambhaji Sawant. Lyrics by sandeep Khare, music by Salil Kuklkarni are the other credits. ‘Maat’ is being made under the banner of Sailee Dream Ventures.
‘Ambat Goad’ begins on Star Pravah

From 10th December 2012, Star Pravah will present a new recipe called ‘Ambat Goad’, which is about a quirky yet lovable family of Vidhwavans. It is also testimony to everyday chaos which is created by 3 daughters-in-law of the family. Anna and Dada – the two patriarchs of the family have given up on this everyday battlefield which takes place in their house. Anshuman Vichare turns to serious roles

For the past fifteen years, he has been branded as a comedy actor in Marathi entertainment. Anshuman Vichare grabbed all the attention through popular Comedy skit show ‘Fu Bai Fu’ where he won the best comedian award. He was invited for similar shows; but Anshuman was eagerly waiting for a role, which was of serious type to enable him to attempt something different to prove his real acting skills. In the latest Marathi play ‘Mansaa Mansaa Hup Hup’, Anshuman plays the lead role, which deviates him from his usual comedy. Rajesh Shringarpure in Hollywood film

Popular Marathi actor Rajesh Shrigarpure, who after winning the hearts of Marathi audience through his performance in films like ‘Zenda’, Swarajya Marathi Paul Padate Pudhe’, ‘Manya- The wonder Boy’, had also made his presence felt through few Hindi serials and movies. But, now he has gone one step ahead and will now be seen in Hollywood film ‘Seal Team Six’ based on dare devil Operation Laden. The film was premiered in US on National Geographic Channel, little before the elections to the President of US, recently.
Rajesh plays an important role in this film in the company of Hollywood actors like Kenneth Miller, Robert Knepper, Kathleen Robertson, Cam Gigandet and others. Directed by John Stockwell, the film will be released in India in January 2013. With this appearance, Rajesh has brought pride to Marathi Entertainment.
Sachit focuses his attention on ‘Asa Mee Ashi Tu’

Known for his performance as an actor in films like ‘Zenda’ and ‘Arjun’ and his skills as a director through films like ‘Kshanbhar Vishranti’ and ‘Sade Maade Teen’ ‘ Sachit Patil has focused his attention on his forthcoming film ‘Asa Mee ashi Tu’, where he plays lead role opposite Pallavi Subhash. Though Sachit is not directing this film, he is taking keen interest to share his experience with director Atul kale during the shooting, when he himself is not shooting.
Recently, he was spotted on the sets, when Atul kale was picturising some scenes on other artistes. He was found discussing certain scenes with the director, indicating his involvement into this project. In this film, Sachit is playing an important role in the company of other artistes like Pallavi Subhash, Manasi Salvi, Shoma anand, Bharat Dabholkar, Viju Khote, Kishore Pradhan, Anuja sathe, Vivek Gore, Latika Gore, Atul Kale and child stars Atharva Bedekar & Sayari. .

Acharya Parvati Kumar had done extensive research in Indian classical dance and was conferred with prestigious awards by Akhil Bharatiya Natyaparishad, Sangeet Natak Academy award and Chaturang Life time achievement award. He had also served on various committees constituted by Education Department of Central Government and Sangeet Natak academy.
Prayer meeting will be held in a hall next to his residence at Grant road at 5 pm on Sunday 2nd December 2012.

Acharya Parvati Kumar who brought recognition to Indian classical dance at the world level, is no more. The well known dance guru passed away at his Mumbai residence on Thursday. He was 94. Many of his disciples were present in large number for his funeral on Thursday evening.
Acharya Parvati Kumar had done extensive research in Indian classical dance and was conferred with prestigious awards by Akhil Bharatiya Natyaparishad, Sangeet Natak Academy award and Chaturang Life time achievement award. He had also served on various committees constituted by Education Department of Central Government and Sangeet Natak academy.
Prayer meeting will be held in a hall next to his residence at Grant road at 5 pm on Sunday 2nd December 2012.
