Shiv Sena & MNS to the rescue of Marathi TV producers

Both the units of Shiv Sena and MNS associated with the welfare of Marathi film and TV productions lodged strong protests at the Dadasahen Phalke Chitranagari, Mumbai. It may be recalled that the Marathi TV serial producers, were eligible for concessions from the Maharashtra Government for shooting and erecting sets at the Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, Off. Goregaon (East) , Mumbai. But, the concession has been withdrawn recently, giving a big shock to the Marathi serial producers, who are otherwise suffering from want of space for shooting.
On one side, the Cultural Ministry has been promoting Marathi films, by offering subsidy and on the other side, they are making it difficult for the Marathi TV serial producers, to produce quality serials. At present, the ongoing popular serial ‘Uncha Majha Zoka’, which has its set erected, will suffer the maximum, due to the concession being withdrawn. This will only deprive the small producers from producing their serials. According to some Marathi TV serial producers, The higher rent, will only encourage big banners from Hindi to get the control of Marathi TV productions.
Now, with the intervention of Shiv Sena and MNS Film units entering the fray, it will force the Cultural department of the State Government to take prompt action, otherwise the two units have threatened to bring all the shootings to a halt at this Chitranagari, if the issue is not resolved by the concerned authorities within next 48 hours.
