New dance Show ‘Sujalam Sufalam Bharat’.

No matter, which part of the world he lives, every Indian is proud to be an Indian, for the diversified culture and bonding witnessed in this unique country. Keeping this in mind, The Academy of Indian Art and Culture, will be presenting a stage show ‘Sujalam Sufalam Bharat’, which will depict the culture of India through song and dance related to 28 different states of this country.
The inaugural stage shows of this programme will be held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai between 14th and 16th May 2012, daily at 7 pm, followed by a show in thane at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagriha on 17thMay. Produced by Jaywant Golatkar and Swapnil Kote, this programme which is directed and choreographed by Devendra Shelar, will be presented by Mr. Kiran Shantaram. Mr. Pramod Pawar has written the script of this show, with Production management by Purushottam Berde. A team 60 artistes will present 28 different dance forms from different parts of India.
Music released for new film ‘Baburao La Pakada’

hether it is Music release function or any other function related to Marathi films, it is always delayed by more than an hour. On Saturday evening at 7.30 pm, the Music release of forthcoming film ‘Baburao La Pakada’ was scheduled at Hotel Kings International, Juhu. But, this new venue which was perhaps convenient to the Producers, turned out to be overcrowded with no place to sit for the invitees. Moreover, there was delay by 90 minutes to start the function, which was presided over by director of this film, Mr. Aashish Ubale.
At the beginning of the function, he made it clear that none of the actors from this multi-starrer film, would be present for the function. He declared that he wished to invite all those behind music of the film, since it was the music release of the film. Accordingly, a special guest from American Consulate, was asked to release the Music CD, in the presence of Producers Tanmay Sengupta , Ashish Kumar Kshirsagar and co producer Milan Tari. Bollywood Music director duo- Durga and Natraj, who have composed music for this film, spoke in Marathi stating that it was their privilege to serve the Marathi film industry.
Director Aashish Ubale thanked all the unit members on this occasion and presented the promo of this film besides screening four out of the five songs from this film, which have been shot in Bangkok. He specifically mentioned that one of the producers and one Music director were Bengalees , associated with a Marathi film, for the first time. The film is due for release on 25th May 2012 and stars a big team of artistes comprising of Sanjay Narvekar, Bahrat Jadhav, Makarand Anaspure, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Nisha Parulekar, Saie Tamhankar, Siya Patil, Meena kanwar, Amruta Deshmukh, Abhijit Chavan and Ashwinkumar Kshirsagar.
Harshdeep Kaur to make her debut in Marathi

Known for some of her famous songs in Bollywood films like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Band Bajaa Baraat’, ‘Desi Boyz’, Hrashdeep Kaur, the winner of two reality shows on TV, will now be making her debut as a singer in Marathi. Harshdeep has recorded a duet along with Sa Re Ga Ma fame Rohit Raut, who is also making his debut as a singer, in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Mr. Na Na Nakose’.
Made under the banner of Prapti Films, the lyrics of this song has been b penned by Tanveer Gazi and Pankaj- Pushkar have provided the music for this film. Directed by Sanjay- Mohammed, the film stars Bharat Jadhav in title role along with Kishori Shahane, Adinath Kothare, Tanvi Parab, Ashish Gade, Viju Khote, Bharat Dabholkar, Kedar Shinde, Sunil Pal, Nakul Ghanekar and Nisha Parulekar.

’10 December’ – a new film based on a real story

We have been hearing a lot about the cases of female foeticide in India. The Planning Commission has cautioned all the states against female foeticide and asked the state governments to ensure that every girl child is allowed to be born. The situation in Maharashtra is no different than other states. Today, Feature films play very important role to create awareness among the people about this issue, especially at a time when women are making progress in every field along with men.
Producer – Director Kanchan Adhikari is now taking up this new subject through her next film ’10 December’, muhurat of which was performed recently on the auspicious Akshaya Trutiya day. The film is based on a novel ‘Chaufula’ written by Anuradha Vaidya, which is a real story of a happening in Parabhani district of Maharashtra. The film’s shooting will be completed by end of May and the Producers Bhausaheb Bhoir and Kanchan Adhikari intend to release the film sometime in July- august 2012.
The film’s star cast comprises of Pratiksha Lonkar, Sharad Ponkshe, Mohan Joshi, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Neha Gadre, Sushant Shelar and Aishwarya Tupe.
Abhijit Gholap’s next is ‘Bhaaratiya’

After winning the prestigious National award for his debut film ‘Deool’, Producer Abhijit Gholap, is now ready to start his next film ‘Bhaaratiya’ under the banner of Devisha films. Written by Aniruddha Potdar and directed by Girish Mohite, the film’s star cast comprises of Subodh Bhave, Makarand Anaspure, Mita Savarkar, Jitendra Joshi, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Kuldeep Pawar, Hrishikesh Joshi and others.

Zee talkies to release ‘Kaksparsh’ on 4th May

Zee Talkies, is all set to release its new film ‘Kaksparsh’ on 4th May 2012. ‘Kaksparsh’ is a cinematic canvas with good acting talents, story, music, cinematography and above all its path-breaking direction. The film has a special significance, as the it is being produced and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, who has given the best films under his banner, Great Maratha Entertainment LLP.
This film is supposed to be a dream project of Mahesh Manjrekar, and produced under Great Maratha Entertainment LLP. The film has been shot on the backdrop of the period 1930- 1955 and revolves around the happenings in a Brahmin family. Story by Usha Datar with the screenplay dialogues by Girish Joshi, the film’s music is composed by Rahul Ranade on the lyrics by Kishor Kadam. Art directors Prashant Rane and Abhishek Vijaykar are behind the hard work of erecting the sets of that era, little before the independence and immediately after independence.
Cinematography is handled by Ajit Reddy and editing by Rahul Bhatankar. ‘Kaksparsh’ is a love story. The film stars Sachin Khedekar, Priya Bapat, Ketaki Mategaonkar, Medha Manjrekar, Abhijit Kelkar, Vaibhav Mangle, Manva Naik, Savita Malpekar, Saksham Kulkarni and many others.
Balasaheb Thackeray launches Kartiki Gaikwad’s album

Universal Music India introduces the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs 2008-09, Kartiki Gaikwad, through her first devotional album ‘Dinacha Soyra Pandurang’. The album was launched by Sena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray on Sunday 15th April 2012 in the presence of the little star herself and Mandar Gupte, CFO, Universal Music India.
The album comprises of four tracks of devotional poetry in praise of the Hindu god Vitthala (Abhang) and four tracks of Gaulan. The lyrics of the songs are taken from the scriptures of renowned saints Sant Tukaram, Sant Namdeo, Sant Eknath and other respective saints. The music is composed by Kalyanji Gaikwad and the album is arranged by Kamlesh Bhadkamkar.
According to Mandar Gupte, CFO, Universal Music India ,they were committed to release Kartiki’s first solo album right when she was declared the winner of Marathi Saregamapa Li’l Champs in 2009. The devotional album which is entirely composed by her father Shri Kalyanji Gaekawad has abhangs written by renowned saints of Maharashtra..
‘Jai Jai Maharahtra Majha’ opts for a different theme

We have heard through media, the stories of Orphans in India , who are adopted by Foreigners. Then we have also heard about their turning emotional, after visiting their motherland. Forthcoming Marathi film – ‘Jai jai Maharashtra Majha’ is based on one such tale with a different theme. The film presents a story of Ashwini Stevenson (Anusha Dandekar) who is adopted by an American, from an orphanage in Pune, when she was just 4 years old. Later, in USA, she grows up to become a world renowned Tennis player.
Ashwini plans her 10 day visit to India, to see the orphanage, where she spent her earlier days of childhood. Vishal Singh Mohite (Hemant Dhome) , son of a rich family plays the host for Ashwini, during her stay in India; and the film rolls on to show their journey from Mumbai-Pune-Kolhapur-Pune and Mumbai. On this route, Ashwini comes across few people and somewhere she discovers something very strange and connected to her past. Director Gautam Joglekar claims to have successfully handled the subject and the main characters in the film.
The film does have a strong supporting cast comprising of Mahesh Manjrekar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Siddharth Chandekar, Aditi Govitrikar, Yatin Karyekar, Madhav abhayankar, Swati Chitnis, Vijay Kenkre & Mangal Kenkre. The film has four different music directors, comprising of Ajit- Samir, K.C. Loy, Yashwant Deo and Gautam Joglekar himself. The film has been produced by G.J. Creations.
Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza is due for release on 25th May 2012 all over Maharashtra.
Dinanath Mangeshkar award for Madhuri Dixit and Vikram Gokhale

Actress Madhuri Dixit and veteran actor Vikram Gokhale would receive this year’s Deenanath Mangeshkar award for their contribution to Indian cinema and Marathi cinema and theatre respectively. The awards will be presented at a special function to be held on 24th April 2012. These awards have been instituted by Mangeshkar family in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar’s father, singer-actor Dinanath Mangeshkar.
While announcing the names of this year’s winners, the veteran singer also stated that the Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray would be the Chief Guest. Among the other recipients are: Dr Prasad Deodhar, who will be presented with the `Anandmayee award’ in the area of social service, while Kannada novelist S L Bhyrappa would receive `Vagvilasini award’ for his contribution in the field of literature. Mr. Kumar Bose would also receive an award for his contribution to music. There will also be late `Mohan Wagh award’, which will be given to Vasantrao Deshpande Pratishthan, for their contribution to musical plays.
