Lifetime achievement award for Kishori Amonkar
Veteran classical singer Kishori Amonkar has been conferred with ‘Big Star IMA Hall of Fame’ Lifetime achievement award. She received this award from reputed classical singer Pandit jasraj, in the presence of IMA founder Rajashree Birla.
Kishori Amonkar now 78, has already won the Sangeet Natak Academy award besides Govt of India’s Padma Vibhushan and the Sangeet Samradni award. She has also been honoured with Ganasaswati degree.
Popularly Known for performing in the classical genre khyal and the light classical genres thumri and bhajan, Ms. Amonkar was trained under her mother Mogubai Khardikar also a reputed classical singer of the Jaipur Gharana.

चित्रपटाचीकथासंकल्पनासागरपाठकयांचीअसूनसंवादसंतोषवाघमोडेयांनीलिहिले आहेत. गीतकार महेश कराडकर, भीमराव धुळबुळे,दिनकरशिर्केयांनीलिहिलेल्या गीतांना दिनकर शिर्के व महेश मुतालिक यांनी संगीत दिलं आहे.संगीतसंयोजनकमलेश भडकमकर, अमर हळदीपूर यांचे आहे. या चित्रपटातील गीते सुप्रसिद्ध गायक शान, अवधूत गुप्ते, रविंद्र साठे, राहुल सक्सेना व महेश मुतालिक यांनी गायली आहेत. सिनेमटोग्राफर नंदुकुमार पाटील यांनी आपल्या कमेर्यातून ‘२०१४ राजकारण’ चित्रित केला आहे. कला दिग्दर्शन – अरुण रहाणे, नृत्य दिग्दर्शन – दिपाली विचारे, संकलन – आशिष म्हात्रे, अपूर्व मोतीवाले यांचे आहे.
Abhijeet for a change in MPPK

Zee Marathi’s reality talent show ‘Kesari Sobat Marathi Paaul Padte Pudhe’ will finally come to an end, having found the winners. Ruturaj Shirodkar and Mihir Khedkar have won the title of this reality show.
The winners will be officially declared during the grand finale of the show which will be telecast on Sunday 5th June @ 7.30pm only on Zee Marathi.
Trupti Bhoir to play Kamini Vahini
Trupti Bhoir, who was in news last year for her prosthetic make-up in her own film ‘Agadbam’, is now trying something different. In her forthcoming film, she plays ‘Kamini Vahini’ a popular character in a chawl.
Trupti who has done memorable roles in films like ‘Aaichi Mayaa’, ‘Ovalate Bhauraya’, ‘Vaishnavi’, ‘Ishya’, ‘Bagh Haath Dakhav’, ‘Tujhya Majhya Sansarala Aani Kay Hava’, ‘Paulkhuna’, is all set to create another milestone through this role of Kamini Vahini.
Kanyadaan’ on Mi Marathi from 30th May
Mi Marathi channel will present a new serial ‘Kanyadaan’ from 30th May at 7pm from Monday to Saturday. ‘Kanyadaan’ is a woman oriented suspense filled but emotional drama. The story revolves around the character of Sakhee- a sensible, cultured and cheerful girl. After her marriage when she steps into the house of her in-laws, she experiences strange happenings and is shocked to see a different culture.
The serial tries to show how Sakhee encounters the crisis. Produced by Neeta Lad the story and screenplay of this serial is written by Shirish Latkar, while Pallavi Karkera and Kiran Kulkarni have penned the dialogues. Kedar Vaidya has directed this serial while Ashok Mahajan has handled the camera.
The serial has newcomers like Sukanya Kaalan and Harish Dabhade along with prominent artistes like Vinay Apte, Kshama Deshpande, Sulekha Talwalkar, Vighnesh Joshi, Sameer Vijay, Rupali Bhosale, Pankaj Khamkar, Kshama Ninave, Milind Phatak and Pari Telang.
Zee Talkies to telecast films for children
Zee Talkies channel is all set to make the summer vacation more exciting for children. Through their ‘Bal Dhamaal Film Festival’ which begins from 23rd May 2011, they will telecast popular sensible films like ‘Pak Pak Pakak’, ‘Tingya’, ‘Mission Champion’, ‘Chadi Lage Cham Cham’ and ‘Aevadhasa Aabhaal’.
The films in above mentioned order can be viewed at 12 noon daily during the period 23rd May to 28th May 2011.
Marathi films bag maximum National Awards
It was a great day for Marathi films today, as many of the 58th National awards announced, were bagged by them. ‘Mee Sindhutai Sapkal’ went on to bag two awards; The Special Jury award for the best film and the Best screenplay award (adapted) which was shared by Anant Mahadevan and Sanjay Pawar.
Marathi actress Mitali Jagtap Varadkar was declared as the best actress in Indian cinema. This award was for her role in ‘Babu Band Bajaa’. Mitali played the role of a mother who brings up her children through hardship. She shared this award with Tamil actress Saranya. The best playback singer (Male) award was bagged by Suresh Wadkar for the film ‘Mala Aai Vhaychay’. This film won the best Marathi film award for this year.
Two more Marathi films also won the National awards i.e. The Indira Gandhi award for best debut of a director which went to ‘Babu Band Bajaa’ and ‘Champions’ won the best film award on Social issues. All the three best child artistes awards went to Marathi cinema. They were shared by Shantaram Rangnekar, Machchindra Gadekar (Champions) and Vivek Chabukswar ( Babu Band Bajaa) .
Smita Tambe performs item song in ‘Deool’
Talented actress Smita Tambe, who proved her dancing skills besides acting in recently concluded dance reality show ‘Ekapeksha Ek- Apsara Aali’ will now be seen in an item number in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Deool’.
The film has already invited attention with the coming together of three big artistes – Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shan and Dilip Prabavalkar for the first time in Marathi cinema. Written by Girish Kulkarni and directed by Umesh Kulkarni, the film is progressing fast towards completion.
Janaki will get back her vision
Mrunmayee Deshpande who won the hearts of millions by winning the Ekapeksha Ek- Apsara Crown recently, was going through a bad patch through her character of Janaki in Zee Marathi’s serial ‘Kunku’. But, now it seems, happy days are back for Janaki and also for those who regularly watch her serial ‘Kunku’.
Janaki will not only get back her vision but the bad man Parshuram will get punished by the law. Further, Kamini’s real identity will also be revealed through the forthcoming episodes of ‘Kunku’. The viewers will witness all these happenings between 16th May and 21st may at 7 pm on Zee Marathi channel.
