Mahesh Manjrekar to direct NH Studioz first Marathi film
After a long break due to lockdown, the shootings of Marathi films are slowly returning to normal. And one such project is from NH Studioz first untitled Marathi film, which is co produced by Vijay Shinde and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. NH Studioz had earlier been part of popular films like ‘Pink’, ‘Shivaay’, ‘Began Jaan’, ‘Omerta’.
This film will be a crime thriller and is supposed to be the big project of 2021. So far, not many details about this film are disclosed. But, the film will begin its first shooting schedule soon. The muhurat shot was taken on 28th October. Talking about this ambitious project, director Mahesh Manjrekar said, “I have been thinking about making this project for a long time, the story was already built up in my head and when I met my long-time friend Vijay Shinde on one of the occasions I narrated this storyline to him. Immediately, Vijay roped in Narendra ji, knowing his inclination towards content driven films. With Ninety-nine productions and NH Studioz, We have the most appropriate synergy backing the film. I am deeply humbled by this and thank them for keeping faith in me and the project.”
The film marks the entry of NH Studioz into regional cinema as producers. Mahesh Manjrekar‘s production house ‘Mahesh Manjrekar Movies’ are the line producers and Vijay Shinde’s 99 Productions are the co-producers on the film.
Smita Shewale and Roshan Vichare are ready to Spread the Magic of love

Roshan Vichare is well known for his character as Lord Narayana in serial ‘Shree Laxmi Narayan’. We will be seen him in his upcoming serial is ‘Tuza Maza Jamtay’. The most interesting part about this pair is Smita Shewale has played Roshan’s mother’s role in their previous serial together. Mann He Vede song is produced by Shrinivas Kulkarni. It’s like a dream project for him. Aishwarya Mane and Puja Chafekar will also be featuring as cameo in Mann He Vede. This song is sung by Anweshaa and music is by Jeevan Marathe. Executive producer for this song is Amol Ghodke.

Prathamesh Parab to return with ‘Darling’
For the past six to seven months we have experienced the worst time, due to spread of corona virus. Things are slowly returning to normal. But, it is very difficult to recollect which actor or actress did their last film. Now, it is time for the film lovers to look forward to watch the upcoming Marathi films. Prathamesh Parab who appeared in films like ‘Time Pass’ read review , ‘Takatak’ read review and others is now getting ready with his new film ‘Darling’, which is slated for release during the new year i.e. January 7th 2021.
In this film Prathamesh will be seen in a brand new avatar . Through his earlier films he has impressed with his memorable characters like Dagadu and Thokya. And therefore there will be big expectations from him in this film too. His ‘Takatak’ fame actress Ritika Shrotri will be seen opposite him in title role of ‘Darling’. The film is directed by Sameer Asha Patil with music by Chinar Mahesh.
Mahesh Limaye’s short film ‘Aashechi Roshnai’ a message for Diwali
Punit Balan Studios which had produced two short films on social awareness during Ganapati festival had received good response. Now, during this coming Diwali they are presenting one more short films with big names involved in this film suitably titled ‘Aashechi Roshnai’ which will be a good social message on this festival occasion. Cinematographer and director Mahesh Limaye has directed this film with concept by Balan which has been scripted by Kshitij Patwardhan.
Actors Rietesh Deshmukh and his wife Genelia liked this concept and agreed to be part of this film. So was the response from music director Ajay Atul, who in a short time composed the music. Veteran Marathi actress Neena Kulkarni has given voice over for this film, which will soon be released on youtube channel of Punit Balan Studios and will be viewed freely on facebook and instagram sites. The makers of this film are confident that after watching this film people will be inspired to help all those affected due to lockdown period, to celebrate the festival.
‘Aboli’ completes 25 years of its release
Have you imagined Sayaji Shinde playing lead opposite Varsha Usgaonkar ? Well, this has happened 25 years ago on 3rd November 1995. And the film was ‘Aboli’ directed by Amol Shetge. The film was produced by Amol Shetge and Nishikant Sadafule. Story , screenplay and dialogues were by Amol himself and Nishikant Sadafule had composed the music. Sayaji Shinde had played lead role in this film opposite Varsha Usgaonkar and in the photo you will notice both of them in a romantic mood.
Besides Sayaji and Varsha the film also had Renuka Shahane, Vijay Gokhale, Deepak Shirke, Shraddha and Guddi in lead roles. Other highlights of this film were that the informative booklet released during the film’s release was unique and popular singers of that period Asha Bhosale, Ravindra Sathe and Vinay Mandke had rendered their voices for the songs, which had become very popular. To celebrate 25 years of this film, it is expected that the channels showing Marathi films should have a show of this film.

Marathi film ‘Doctor Doctor’ releasing on 30th October on Zee Plex
Last few year we have seen many adult comedy, where few of directors tried to talk about teenagers challenges. After Boyz, Boyz2, Girlz, Takatak, now it seems we have one more film on the same track. The movie is produced by Kiran Kumawat, Gauri Sagar Pathak and Suraj Dagde-Patil. Directed by Pritam Patil, we have actors Ramesh Pardesi, Siddheshwar Zhadbukke, Vinod Khedkar and Amol Kagne in this film.
‘Colorful’ will be Prakash Kunte’s next Marathi film
After the long period of Lock down due to corona pandemic, shootings and post production work of Marathi films are soon returning to normalcy. Prakash Kunte who offered variety of good films like ‘Coffee Aani Barach kahi’, ‘Jara Hatke’ and ‘Cycle’ is now all set to offer his next Marathi film ‘Colorful’ . This film is being produced by Manasi , who had earlier made Hindi documentaries and short films. With this film she has entered into Marathi as producer.
Poster of this Colorful film has been released recently, which has created a lot of curiosity about this film among the film lovers. The cast of the film and other credits have not been announced. But, the audience will have to wait for its grand release only in 2021. So, wait for the lockdown to end soon and get ready to watch this colourful film.
Actress Sharmila Rajaram plays a TV newsreader
Virus Marathi have presented their new web series ‘No Breaking News’ on youtube. It is suitably titled as the subject of this serial is based on different ways of breaking the news. Actress Sharmila Rajaram who plays the lead role in this series, is seen presenting the news in her own style, to avoid being typecast. In one of the episodes, Sharmila will be seen breaking the news while cleaning the rice.
Actually, the aim of the makers of this web series is to present the subjects covered by the news channels in a different way. The series is directed by Santosh Kolhe, who had earlier directed Sharmila in his previous series ‘Shock Katha’. The writer of this series is by Yugandhar Deshpande. Till now, two episodes of this series have already been released, while the third episode is being released now. Youngsters on social media have welcomed it. The trailer of this episode says it all.
Poster of Marathi film ‘Tath Kana’ on Dr P S Ramani unveiled
Known for his work in Newcastle and his neurospinal surgery technique of “PLIF”, World renowned Dr. Premanand S Ramani is currently the senior neurospinal surgeon at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. His surgery technique has brought relief to thousands of people suffering from this problem. At the age of 80 Dr P S Ramani is still attending to patients in OPD even during this ongoing corona pandemic. A Marathi biopic ‘Tath Kana’ has been made on his success story and the poster of this film was released recently on the occasion of ‘World Spine Day’. A small ceremony was held on this occasion, in presence of Dr.Ramani himself along with producers of this film Vijay Mudshingkar, Karan Rawat, Director of the film Girish Mohite, writer Shrikant Bojewar and lead actor of the film Umesh Kamat who is playing the role of Dr. Ramani.
It may be recalled that Dr. Ramani had to struggle a lot in his life since his childhood in Ponda, Goa to achieve his dream of becoming a surgeon, after coming to Mumbai. His autobiography with the same name ‘Tath Kana’ has been published with 17th edition. Such is the popularity of his book. Dr. Ramani has also written many other books, which were published in Marathi and English. Speaking on the occasion of the poster release, Umesh Kamat said that it was his privilege to play the role of such a respectable personality, while director Girish Mohite said that while handling this different subject, he could understand his unique personality.
Dr. Ramani has also reacted stating that watching his life journey through this film is certainly the happiest moment for him. Avinash Vishwajeet have provided music of this film, while cinematography is by Krushnakumar Soren . Editing by Nilesh Gawand, art by Mahesh Kudalkar are the other credits. Prashant Pawar is executive producer of this film.
