I was looking for an entry into Marathi film and couldn’t say ‘No’ to it.
After a long time he is back to Marathi entertainment. The versatile actor, who earned a big name with his performance in popular Marathi TV serial ‘ Abhaalmaya’ , later shifted to Hindi cinema and played variety of roles. But now, Manoj Joshi makes his debut through Marathi film ‘Rangiberangi’, directed by Rajendra Bade. MMW takes on Manoj Joshi for a chit chat.
Q: What do you have to say about your comeback to Marathi entertainment ?
A.: When Rajendra Bade approached me with this offer to play the role of Uncle, I liked the role, as being a slightly negative role, it had its own identity in the script. As it is, I was looking for an entry into Marathi film with a good role and couldn’t say ‘No’ to it.
Q: How was your experience working with Rajendra Bade as a film maker?
A: Very nice. Let me tell you, Rajendra Bade being a teacher himself, has a knack of explaining the scene well, which helps the artiste to prepare and give his best. It was a pleasure working under him and also with veteran Cinematographer Debu Deodhar.
Q: How much did you enjoy working with two generations ?
A: Yes, I did work with Ravindra Mahajani and Madhu kambikar for the first time, though I had worked in the past with Pradeeep Velankar. I learned a lot from them. Talking about the youngsters, they are very smart talented and hard working. Besides acting, they possess other finest qualities too. Both of them dance well. It was a good experience working with all of them.
