Grand Music launch of ‘Mani Mangalsutra’
It was the happiest day in the life of film maker Gauri Sarwate. Music of her much talked about Marathi film “Mani Mangalsutra – Naate Navya Pidhiche” was unveiled in a grand way by Times Music on Tuesday 5th October 2010 at Red Lounge, Cinemax, Andheri. Durga Jasraj in the capacity of the chief guest praised the efforts of Gauri Sarwate for making this wonderful creation. She applauded Gauri’s guts to take up such a subject and convert it into a musical film. “I am a great fan of Avadhoot Gupte and I can understand how hard he must have worked on the music of this film” she added.
Besides having the support of Times Music, the film has also found a solid backing of Reliance Big Pictures to distribute the film all over Maharashtra. Speaking on the occasion Gauri Sarwate thanked Lord Ganapati, as during the recent Ganapati festival time she found the two big groups to back her film. Present on the occasion were Ms. Shikha Singhi, head Film Acquisition and Marketing Times Music and Mr. Utpal Acharya, Head Distribution & Acquisition, Reliance Big Pictures.
Also present on the occasion were singers Vasundhra Das, who has rendered her voice for the first time in a Marathi film and Shreya Ghoshal, who has rendered the ‘Mangalagauri’ song. Avadhoot Gupte – the Music director of the film, Praveen Joshi, who has scored background music and Omkar Karve, the actor from the film were also present. The leading lady of the film – Hrishita Bhatt, who is making her debut in Marathi film, said that she agreed to do the film, as she liked the script.
During the function, three songs from the film were shown to the press and each one of them had a class of its own. The song ‘Nava daav chal mandayala.‘ reminded the olden days of Prabhaat films. Very rightly, the director has shot this song in black and white. Shreya Ghoshal seemed to have worked very hard on the ‘Mangalagauri‘ song; as she herself later admitted that it took 7 hours to complete that 7 minute song; since she wanted to be perfect with every word. The film has other singers like Rahul Vaidya and Sailee Panse, while lyrics are penned by Sudhir Moghe, Sandeep Khare and Prashant kulkarni; offering a variety.
The film is due for release all over Maharashtra (except Nagpur and Amrawati) in next 15 days time
