Marathi Film ‘Shimga’ on the backdrop of popular Konkan Fest
Many films in the past were made on the backdrop of some popular Indian festival. There were films made on the backdrop of popular festivals in Maharashtra, including the Ganapati festival, Gokul Ashtami, Raksha bandhan and so on. The coastal belt of Maharashtra covering picturesque Konkan is also known for some traditional festivals and one of them is Shimga, which is celebrated with Holi festival. The palkhi during Shimga is the main attraction during this festival.
Shree Kelmai Bhawani Productions have produced their Marathi film ‘Shimga’ on the backdrop of this festival and the teaser poster of this film was released on the auspicious occasion of Holi Pournima. Dressed up in army uniform two actors namely Rajesh Shringarpure and Bhushan Pradhan are noticed in this teaser poster. Based on the Konkan culture, the film is written and directed by Nilesh Krishna. Music of this film is composed by Pankaj Padghan on the lyrics of Guru Thakur and Valay.
