Mrunmayee Deshpande crowned as new Apsara
xecuted duet in the company of Bhushan Pradhan. The other being on the popular song ‘Aata Vajale Ki Bara’. Mrumayee’s mother Ms. Pratibha Deshpande who was present for the first time to see her daughter’s performance, reacted by thanking her teachers Manisha Sathe, Deepali Vichare and her Aunty for all that Mrunmayee had achieved in dancing.
Earlier in the evening, Pushkar Shrotri, who also played anchor of this show did his job well by offering some variety entertainment in between the performances. His exchange of humour with Aarti Solanki and comedian Bhushan Kadu worked very well, offering some form of entertainment to the thousands of spectators present at the stadium. Zee Marathi used this platform for the clever promotion of their forthcoming film ‘Mast Chalalay Aamcha’ which is being released on 29th April 2011. The arrival of Zee Marathi’s popular Bhau as a reliever for Pushkar Shrotri at the end of the show also hinted his return as Bhauji in ‘Home Minister’ from 16th May 2011.
In the main presentations of the other three dancers qualified for the finals, it was Neha Pendse, who began with ‘Gallit Ghala Gondhal’ followed Girija Oak’s ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and Urmila Kanetkar’s popular ‘Gondhal’ from Jogwa. Though, it was an outstanding performance of the day coming from Urmila, who was fully charged during this dance, it was the charming girl- Mrunmayee, who walked with the award, based on popularity votes. The Mahaguru of this dance reality show- Sachin Pilgaonkar, who was present on the final day as the only judge, while giving his own verdict said that he rated all four dancers equally talented and hence didn’t like to choose a winner of his choice. “All four of them are joint winners, according to me, but the public opinion is the final,” he said.
In the other variety entertainment programmes offered during the function were ‘Ganapati Vandan’ by Mrunal Dusanis, Dance performances by all three choreographers, namely Deepali Vichare, Mayur Vaidya and Phulwa Khamkar besides performances by Bhargavi Chirmule, Cedric, Mayuresh, Sanskriti Balgude (‘Pinjara’ fame), Mihir Soni, Sakshi Tisgaonkar, Pushkar Shotri and above all Sachin Pilgaonkar. Other male artistes like Abhijit Kelkar, Vivek Raut and Piyush Ranade supported Urmila, Neha and Girija in the duets. The overall show sponsored by ‘Vaseline’ and powered by ‘Rin’ was well managed by Zee Marathi.
