Sangli Cop quits his job to play lead role in Marathi film
We have seen Doctors, Engineers, Bankmen quitting their jobs to work in Marathi films. In the recent past the quality of Marathi cinema has improved a lot, with many films receiving national and international film awards besides receiving appreciation from audience all over the world. Today, acting is also looked upon as a new career by youngsters, who undergo training to find roles in television serial and films. Some prefer Marathi plays as stepping stone to begin their acting career.
For those who are passionate about acting, they come to Mumbai to try their luck in films. Shrikant Patil from Sangli is one of them. He came to Mumbai after quitting his job as a Police Constable. In fact, Shrikant was to receive his promotion as Sub Inspector. But, having made up his mind he quit his job to turn towards acting profession. Being tall and handsome, he found lead role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Gavthi‘ which is directed by Anandkumar, who has worked as assistant to Remo D’Souza for the past fifteen years.
During the first song release of ‘Gavthi‘ film, Shrikant Patil invited all the attention of the invitees present on the occasion. Even the chief guest Remo D’Souza, who had watched the trial show of this film, was all praise for his performance. Coming through hard times, Shrikant had to take up job, to look after his family, as his father passed away untimely. But, soon after his brother got a job, he took this decision to turn towards acting. So, after Sai Tamhankar, here is one more actor from Sangli to get noticed after the release of this film soon.
