‘Baba Retired Zaale’ will be homage to 7/11 blast victims – Nishant Bhuse

Baba Retired Zaale, Marathi Movie

Nishant Bhuse has played a crucial role as an investigative journalist, while reporting the ghastly 7/11 Mumbai serial train blasts by terrorists in 2006. His post blast reports continued to appear in a tabloid, with his analytical stories. Now, Nishant is making a Marathi film suitably titled ‘Baba Retired Zaale’, which has been inspired, after the death of 189th victim of the horrific blast. It may be mentioned that Parag Sawant, the 189th victim of the blast, died recently, after fighting with death for nine years.
Marathi Movie World had a chat with Nishant Bhuse, to know more about this film.

Q: Why did you choose this title of the film ?
A: Actually, I wanted to show, how the family of the victim suffers. Besides showing the tragic account of late Parag Sawant’s life, the film will also be touching compilation of the emotional turmoil in his retired father’s life. I wanted to show, how a helpless father had to deal with our lethargic system, right from the day after the blast, till the day he passed away.

Q: What are the main issues highlighted in the film?
A: I have come across several disgusting human interest stories, which have never come to light. Can you imagine, a family’s futile wait for compensation, after the death of their near and dear ones? A father’s never ending struggle with the system, for the recovery of his son, who battled for years to return to normal life and thereafter succumbing to death? All these issues, I have tried to I flawlessly merge, to recreate the made-up characters.

We have already taken three years of research and intensive screenwriting, for this film, which will roll with India’s critically acclaimed talents, from Marathi and Hindi film industry.
