‘Kachha Limbu’, ‘Muramba’ & ‘Ringan’ share honours at Jio Filmfare awards

Ever since the separate Filmfare awards for Marathi films have been introduced, the ‘Black lady’ has been the big attraction for Marathi artistes. In the 4th Jio Filmfare awards held on Thursday evening two Marathi films namely: ‘Kaccha Limbu‘ and ‘Muramba‘ shared maximum honours in different sections. While ‘Kaccha Limbu‘ bagged 4 awards including the best film, best director (Prasad Oak) and best actress ( Sonali Kulkarni) awards, ‘Muramba‘ bagged 5 awards including the best actor ( Amey Wagh), best supporting actress ( Chinmayee Sumeet) and best debut ( Mithila Palkar) awards.

The award for best supporting actor went to Girish Kulkarni for his performance in the film ‘Faster Fene‘, while the best debut ( male) went to Abhinay Berde for his performance in the film ‘Tee saddhya Kaay Karte‘. In the Critics award section, ‘Halaal‘ bagged the best film award, while the best actress and best actor awards in this section went to Irawati Harshe( Film: Kasav) and Shashank Shende( Ringan). Film ‘Ringan‘ also bagged four more awards for best child actor( Sahil Joshi), best debut in direction ( shared between Varun Narvekar & Makarand Mane) , best story ( Makarand Mane) & best playback singer( Adarsh Shinde) .

Anchors Amey Wagh and Suvrat Joshi entertained the audience at the NESCO venue at Goregaon and the Lifetime achievement award in Music was conferred upon veteran music legend Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

The beautiful black lady is now in the hands of many Marathi film award winners. Only difference was that during this  Filmfare awards for Marathi films, the traditional musical instruments of Maharashtra, the Dhol -tashe , Lejhim and Tutari, were played in the background  music , to honour the award winners. So, one thing is clear that Filmfare have started recognising the strength and progress of Marathi films, during the past few years.

Several celebrities from Bollywood were also present on the occasion. Prominent among them were, Vidya Balan, Urmila Matondkar, Tabu, Athiya shetty, Varun Dhavan & Suraj Pancholi.Among the top celebrities in Marathi were Ramesh Deo, Mahesh Manjrekar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonali Kulkarni, Mrinal Kulkarni, Mahesh Kothare & others.

Films like ‘Lai Bhari’,’ Rege’,’ Elizabeth Ekadashi’ & ‘Fandry’ shared most of the awards, while ‘ Prakash Baba Amte- The real hero’ bagged the Filmfare award for the best film, besides bagging the best actor( Nana Patekar) and Best actress( Sonali Kulkani) awards. The award for the best popular actor award  went to Riteish Deshmukh for his debut in Marathi through super hit Marathi film ‘Lai Bhari’.

The first award for Film fare Lifetime achievement, went to veteran actor Ramesh Deo, who at the age of 86 years, is still active with his acting assignments.
