‘Krutant’ defines destiny in a philosophical manner
You never know what will happen in your life in future. Many a times this change is controlled by some force. And you call it ‘Destiny’. Latest released Marathi film ‘Krutant‘ is based on this philosophy. Samyak ( Suyog Gorhe) and Reva( Sayli Patil) are happily married couple who live in Mumbai . Samyak who is workaholic does not find enough time for his wife, mother and little child. But, his lenient wife tries to adjust herself with his busy lifestyle.
One day his old college friends, who are also family friends request Samyak to join for a picnic at one of his friend’s native place, which is 6 hours away from Mumbai. After persuasion Samyak agrees to join them for two days, with a condition that he would join them directly at the picnic destination. Reva suggests Samyak to travel by Tourist bus instead of driving himself all the way. Samyak reaches the place, but finds none of his friends to pick him up. On calling them, he is suggested to hire a tumtum( tempo type rickshaw) , which drops him at a spot from where he has to walk down to the village. Soon, it gets dark and it starts raining. There is no sign of his friends. Helpless, he takes shelter in a shanty owned by a stranger ( Sandeep Kulkarni) who tells him that he attends to puncture work of tyres. Initially, reluctant to communicate with him, thinking that he is a beggar, Samyak soon realises that this stranger has a lot of knowledge and talks sense on the topics like loneliness, change and destiny in a philosophical manner. He then patiently listens to his past, when the stranger narrates his story.
It is this interesting story that brings a twist in the film’s screenplay and the audience too get engrossed into it. Writer- Director Datta Bhandare has very cleverly developed this plot, with the help of excellent cinematography by Vijay Mishra, good background music by Vijay Gavande and superb sound design. Performances of lead artistes are good , especially from Sandeep Kulkarni who makes his comeback through this film and dashing Suyog Gorhe. Charming Sayli Patil has very little to do in this film, but she has played her part well. Good support comes from other character artistes. However few doubts remain unanswered in the screenplay. But, the attempt to handle such a mystery based story is good. All in all, ‘Krutant‘ film takes you on a different journey.

Sandeep Kulkarni returns with an unusual role in ‘Krutant’
For the past 25 years he has been in the field of acting in films after his debut through Shyam Benegal’s Hindi film ‘Mammo’. Since then, Sandeep Kulkarni has portrayed variety of roles in Hindi and Marathi films. His film ‘Dombivali Fast’ directed by Nishikant Kamat released in 2005 won National award. As an actor, Sandeep has experienced all the three mediums of acting through stage, television and films.
His last two films ‘Ajinkya’ and ‘Premsutra’ were released five years ago. And since then we had not heard about his films, though one of his films ‘Dombivali Return’ directed by Mahendra Teredesai was screened at film festivals. Now, Sandeep is returning with forthcoming Marathi film ‘Krutant’ in which he plays an unusual lead role, which according to the makers is ideally suited for his comeback. Written and directed by Datta Bhandare, the film also stars Suyog Gorhe, Vidya Karanjikar, Sayali Patil & Vaishnavi Patwardhan. DOP – Vijay Mishra and music by Vijay Narayan Gavande are the other credits of this film, which is based on today’s new lifestyle of the people.
‘Krutant’ is now in post production stage
After performing muhurat of his Marathi film ‘Krutant‘, producer Mihir Shah has managed to complete shooting of his film, as per schedule, with well planned direction of Datta Mohan Bhandare. The film is now in post production stage. The film’s story is based on today’s busy lifestyle, where there is no time for a person to communicate with others. According to the makers the story of this film will relate every individual watching this film. Instead of offering a bitter dose of solution to this problem, the makers say that they have tried to offer the timely message through this musical entertainer.
The story screenplay and dialogues of ‘Krutant‘ film are written by director himself with artistes like Sandeep Kulkarni, Suyog Gorhe, Vidya Karanjikar, Sayali Patil, Vaishnavi Patwardhan playing lead roles. Vijay Gavande has composed the music of this film, while Vijay Mishra has handled the camera. The film has been shot at picturesque Malvan in Konkan region, besides some beautiful locations at National park and Madh in Mumbai.
Sandeep Kulkarni to make his comeback with ‘Krutant’
Talented Marathi actor Sandeep Kulkarni whose films ‘Shwaas‘ and ‘Dombivali Fast‘ won National awards and who himself has won State and popular awards in the past, will be making his comeback to Marathi films almost after four years, with his forthcoming film ‘Krutant‘, which is produced by Mihir Shah and directed by Datta Mohan Bhandare. So, it’s a good news for his admirers, who had appreciated his performance in many films like ‘Shwaas‘, ‘Dombivali Fast‘, ‘Made In China‘,’Bedhund‘, ‘Gaiir‘, ‘Ajinkya‘ and many other Hindi films where he played variety of roles.
The makers of ‘Krutant‘ film were in search of a actor, to play this strong character and they could only think of Sandeep Kulkarni. Sandeep too liked this role and immediately agreed to do this film. In this film Sandeep plays the character of a nature lover, who likes to remain in the company of mother nature. Sandeep has a challenging role to play in this film. The film certainly has something interesting to offer, but both director and actor do not want to reveal the story, which very much belongs to today’s lifestyle of people. In this film besides Sandeep, the other important artistes of the film are, Suyog Gorhe, Vidya Karanjikar, Sayali Patil & Vaishnavi Patvardhan. Vijay Mishra is the cinematographer of this film and the film’s shooting is in progress now.
