MIFTA is now MICTA, with a new look

Actor – Film maker Mahesh Manjrekar has been organising the MIFTA awards for the past three years successfully. He has made all efforts to spread the network of Marathi entertainment industry choosing foreign destinations like Dubai, London and Singapore. Now, MIFTA will have a new look with a new name MICTA ( Marathi International Cinema and Theatre Awards) besides having new partners. Thanks to Actor Sushant Shelar for playing a crucial role in bringing Nitesh Rane’s Maharashtra Kalanidhi as their esteemed partners.

A function was organised on 27th evening at Blue Sea, Worli, to make an official announcement to this effect and also disclose Switzlerland as the next venue for the IVth Mhaiskar-Micta awards. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mahesh Manjrekar stated that intention of hosting such award function abroad, was to encourage the artistes from Marathi entertainment industry. He also invited all the associates connected with the awards function, such as Mr. Mhaiskar of Mhaiskar Foundation, Mr. Nitesh Rane and Anant Panshikar from the from the Maharashtra kalanidhi and Ms. Veena Patil from Venna Patil Hospitality Services Pvt.Ltd; their Hospitality partners. He also invited Mr.Kiran Shantaram, Mr. Sushant Shelar and Mr. Chandrakant Kulkarni to the dais, while unveiling the new logo of Micta. Mr. Manjrekar did not forget to mention about the support received from Ms. Aishwarya Guhagarkar from Swiss Tourism.

Mr. Nitesh Rane in his small but encouraging speech, expressed his desire to help all those people like Mahesh Manjrekar who make a sincere effort to unite and encourage all those Marathi artistes together under one platform. He said that his Maharashtra Kalanidhi was always there to help organisers in Marathi entertainment industry, working for a cause. It may be mentioned that maharastra Kalanidhi offered financial help to Sanjay Jadhav’s film ‘Duniyadari’ at the most appropriate time. Mr. Mhaiskar, Sushant Shelar, Anant Panshikar and Veena Patil also spoke on the occasion. Mr. Chandrakant Kulkarni anchored the show. A short film giving a glimpse of the past three award functions of Micta and briefing about Swiss tourism was also shown on the occasion.

Present on the occasion were media persons, Ms. Aishwarya Guhagarkar of Swiss Tourism with her husband, Ms. Anuya Mhaiskar, Mr. Mahesh kothare with wife, Mr. Sanjay Jadhav besides many other dignitaries. Among the popular artistes, Sunil Barve, Aniket Vishwasrao, Pallavi Subhash, Neha Pendse, Kranti Redkar, Saie Tamhankar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Manasi Naik, Ankush Choudhary, Pradeep Patwardhan, Vijay kadam, Vaibhav Tatwawadi and Santosh Juvekar invited the attention of the guests.. The venues of Drama and Film competitions will be announced soon. The hosts are also considering the possibility of Pune and Goa as the new venues for the competitions, before proceeding to the Final Awards function at Switzerland, sometime during end of September 2013; which seems to be on a big scale this time.

Mhaiskar- MIFTA 2012 in Singapore

The Marathi International Film & theatre awards (MIFTA) 2012 will be held in Singapore this year during the period 4th – 7th October 2012. This is the third year of the awards, under the banner of Mhaiskar – MIFTA 2012, which will have travel sponsorship from Kesari Travels. Mr. Mahesh Manjrekar, organizer of MIFTA and Ms. Veena Patil of Kesari travels made an official announcement of this event in a press conference in Mumbai.

Every year, before the main awards function the organizers conduct a curtain raiser event. This year the event will be held at Kashinath Ghanekar auditorium, Thane, between 2nd and 9th September 2012. There will be 10 dramas staged and 10 films screened during the period, which can be viewed by film and drama lovers at reduced rates. On the final day of this event, the nominations for the MIFTA awards will be announced.

Incidentally, Mahesh Manjrekar’s film ‘Kaksparsha’ has received a good response in Singapore. So, expectations for the success of MIFTA have raised high hopes. MIFTA has invited applications from filmmakers and Drama producers online, from 16th July onwards on their website www.miftaawards.com.
