‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-3′ will be ready for release next year
After the success of their films ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai‘ and ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2‘ now the makers of these two films are all set to release their ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-3‘ next year . Besides this announcement, the release date of this film has also been announced in advance, as 27th April 2018. With the name of this film and photos of lead pair Swwapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve appearing on No. 3, this beautiful poster has been released by people associated with this film and director Satish Rajwade on their social networking pages. This part 3 too will be produced by Sanjay Chhabriya.
It may be recalled that the chemistry between Swwapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve on big screen as well as small screen has been well accepted by the theatre and home audience. Ever since both of them appeared together in ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2‘ , their well wishers have been eagerly waiting for their comeback together. Even otherwise, both of them need a hit film and we hope that year 2018 should prove be lucky for them. With this announcement, their fans should be happy. Mukta Barve is presently busy with her TV serial ‘Rudram‘ and with limited episodes, this serial is likely to conclude soon. After which she will focus on this film. But, the idea of making announcement of this film’s release , six months in advance sounds good
Mukta Barve grabs all the attention in ongoing TV serial ‘Rudram’
Many a times the selection of a particular artiste for an important role makes a big difference in popularizing a TV serial. And, if that artiste is a popular star, the viewership of the serial certainly goes up. At present, popular actress Mukta Barve is grabbing all the attention in Zee Yuva‘s ongoing suspense filled TV serial ‘Rudram‘. Playing the role of Ragini, a young widow who has lost her family except her mother in a car accident, Mukta perfectly fits into the character of an angry young woman.
But, what is important is that the character penned by the writer Girish Jayant Joshi is tailor made for talented actress like Mukta and she has given full justice to that character in few initial episodes telecast so far, since its beginning three weeks ago. In every scene she appeared, she seemed totally involved into this character of Ragini, who doesn’t think anything else than revenge against all those evil people, behind the murder of her family members. Girish Jayant Joshi who has written the story has also penned the screenplay and dialogues of this serial directed by Bhimrao Mude.
Besides Mukta Barve, there are renowned artistes like Dr.Mohan Agashe, Vandana Gupte, Mitali Jagtap, Sandeep Pathak, Sagar Talashikar and above all Suhas Palshikar in equally important roles. Looking at the instant popularity of ‘Rudram‘ serial, the makers had telecast 3 hours special show, covering all the past happenings on 27th August 2017 and that gave an impression of a suspense filled murder mystery. However, when we watch a particular episode, we find very little happenings in that half an hour long episode, with commercial breaks. Why can’t the makers think of playing one hour long episode? Even otherwise, this serial is limited to 60 episodes and some more actors like Kiran Karmarkar are yet to appear.
Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar’ selected for Vancouver Film Fest
Prior to its official release in theatres in Maharashtra, Vikram Phadnis debut Marathi film as a director ‘Hrudayantar‘ had already been selected for Melbourne International film festival. And now, after receiving good response from sensible Marathi film lovers and also at the theatre ticket windows , the film has now been officially selected for screening at the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival.
Reacting to this good news, Vikram Phadnis said, “ I am extremely happy to see very good response to my film not only winning the hearts of the local audience, but also audience abroad“. The film ‘Hrudayantar‘ has also received critical acclaims from local and foreign media. Starring Subodh Bhave, Mukta Barve, Sonali Khare, Meena Naik, Trushnika Shinde, Nishtha Vaidya and Amit Khedekar is produced by Imtiaz Khatri and Vikram Phadnis.

Marathi films are bringing in the desired change, as far the presentation of serious and thought provoking subjects are concerned. It all began with ‘Shwaas‘ and recently we saw a film ‘Braveheart‘ handling a serious subject with a timely message. Latest released Marathi film which is a debut film for Bollywood fashion designer turned director Vikram Phadnis, offers one more serious subject in an artistic way.
‘Hrudayantar‘ is actually an emotional drama, which revolves around a well off couple Shekhar and Samaira Joshi( Subodh Bhave & Mukta Barve) married for over 12 years and now preparing for separation. The reason is simple, as workaholic Shekhar a successful hotelier, cannot find time for his wife Samaira, who in spite of being a working woman, also manages household matters skillfully. She also gives much required time and affection to her two little daughters Nitya and Nysha (Trushnika Shinde & Nishtha Vaidya). Dancing becomes a passion for 10 year old Nitya, while Nysha excels in athletics. The girls get all luxuries in life, but are witness to the verbal fights between their parents most of the time.
As the couple is all set for a break up, their elder daughter Nitya is diagnosed with a serious ailment and this puts her near and dear ones into turmoil. But, through this period, the family learns the importance of real family bonding. ‘Hrudayantar‘ is certainly not an entertaining film, but is a serious story very well given a cinematic form, to give a realistic look. Both Subodh Bhave and Mukta Barve are at their best, as expected. Interestingly, Mukta also plays the narrator of this film. But, talented child artiste Trushnika Shinde, steals the show with her spontaneous expressions in all important scenes especially in the post interval session.
Good support comes from another child artiste Nishtha Vaidya, apart from other senior artistes like Meena Naik, Sonali Khare & Ameet Khedekar. Other Popular artistes like Atul Parchure, Vishakha Subhedar, Amol Bavdekar, Shiamak Davar , Manish Paul and above all popular Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan are seen in cameo roles. Dr. Namjoshi, in whose CritiCare Hospital in Juhu, the film has been shot, also makes a special appearance.
Wonderful cinematography by Dilshad V.A and superb background music by Praful Karlekar give a polished look to this film. Well written dialogues by Rohini Ninawe for every situation catch the attention of the audience. Vikram Phadnis direction on debut is also worth appreciating, though he could have made ‘Hrudayantar‘ film more interesting. He has however shot the most important emotion filled scenes very cleverly, including that of Hrithik Roshan, without making the actor utter a singles dialogue.
Sensitive audience is sure to shed tears during most of the scenes, in the concluding part of this film. All in all, ‘Hrudayantar‘ is an artistically presented film, which needs sensible audience to appreciate. The film is surely in the race to win popular awards for the year 2017.

Ever since Vikram Phadnis Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar‘ was launched, we have been hearing involvement of many Bollywood personalities with this film, right from giving clap of this film till releasing the first look or poster of this film. Recently, when he approached popular Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to release the music of ‘Hrudayantar‘ film, she immediately agreed to be present.
So, after releasing the music of this film, she was all praise for wonderful presentation of emotion filled story through this film. She also expressed that she was proud to be associated with this film as a guest during its music release. Vikram Phadnis also reciprocated , recalling his long time friendship and association with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He also assured that music and background music will also play important part in his film. It’s Woman Power in Marathi Entertainment
On the occasion of International Women’s day, we at Marathi Movie World thought of reviewing the role of Woman in different departments of Marathi Entertainment. And, we observed that it’s woman power everywhere, be it Marathi stage, TV serials or films. They are in the forefront not only to entertain the audience but also prove their ability in different fields, such as acting, production, direction, costume designing, lyrics, music and so on.
If we start with the theatre section, today we find the female actresses inviting all the attention, while displaying their acting potential through various ongoing Marathi plays. To name a few, Mukta Barve in Code Mantra, Spruha Joshi in ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy‘, Leena Bhagwat in ‘Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin‘ Reshma Ramchandra in ‘Chhada’ and so on.
On the small screen we find Mrunal Dusanis (Assa Sasar Surekh Bai), Akshaya Deodhar ( Tujhyat Jeev Rangala) , Mayuri Deshmukh ( Khulta Kali Khulena) have set some ideals before the audience, through their respective characters. Every serial has a negative character. Today, we see some of the women playing negative roles. So, it is a woman v/s Woman. But finally, it is always the win of pleasant over the evil. Title songs of almost all the serials have domination of female singers. Moreover, when we visit the sets, we find many women associated with production and technical work, which is highly appreciated.
Now, coming to the big screen, we have observed the importance given to many women oriented films in Marathi, with more and more women coming forward to making of films. So, after Sai Paranjape , Aruna Raje, we find women film makers like Shravani Deodhar, Sumitra Bhave, Kaanchan Adhikari, Samruddhi Porey, Mrinal Kulkarni, Kranti Redkar and so on, also coming forward to offer their creativity. Some of the actresses who have already proved their mettle through their respective characters in women oriented films and winning the awards and appreciation are, Ashwini Bhave, Urmila Kanitkar Kothare, Sai Tamhankar, Tejaswini Pandit, Mrunmayee Deshpande in the recent past. There are many others associated with production and post production work.
