‘Apsara Dhara’ Konkani Children’s film for Kolkatta Film Festival
Konkani language is very close to our Marathi language. In fact it is also spoken in some of our Marathi films, set on the backdrop of Konkan region. Known for his successful films like ‘Jnaa Manaa’ and ‘Aa Vai Ja sa’ in Konkani language Dr. Ramesh Kamath from Bangalore has now made his new Konkani film ‘Apsara Dhara’ which is based on the most important slogan of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. The film is in news, because the story, screenplay and direction is by Dr. Kamath himself.
‘Apsara Dhara’ is the first Konkani film shot in Egypt and some of the scenes have been picturised in 3D format. The theme of the film is on the simple principle ‘There is no short cut for success’ and therefore this film will be a worth watch for all children and their parents. Child artistes Master Sarthak Shenoy and Kumari Swati Bhatt from Mangalore are playing lead roles in this film, while popular film artiste Gopinath Bhatt and renowned stage artiste P. Rohidas nayak are playing eqully important role of Village Chief and Pinto Teacher respectively in this film.
The film has already been selected for screening at the Kolkatta Film Festival prior to its theatre release and will be screened on 14th November, the Children’s day.
