Sai appeals for Voluntary contribution of labour on World Earth Day
We are already aware of the contribution of actress Sai Tamhankar for social cause. She has been very active with ‘Pani Foundation’ to create awareness about water conservation by finding time for the same. Recently, Sai posted a video on social media to make an appeal to them to come forward for voluntary contribution of labour on the occasion of World Earth day. Sai herself will be involved with this activity on 1st May 2019.
It may be recalled that for the past five years Sai has been actively involved with Pani Foundation programmes. Besides voluntarily contributing labour on this day every year, she has also been attending their other awareness programmes regularly. Speaking about her involvement in this activity, Sai says, “It is really sad to find the animals struggling to search water and at the same time it is more disturbing to find the women walking long distance to fetch water for their little children in drought affected areas. From my side I will be doing a bit through voluntary contribution of labour and I expect you all to join this movement.”

First poster of Sai Tamhankar’s film ‘Pondicherry’ released
Sai Tamhankar has begun shooting of her forthcoming film ‘Pondicherry‘ at Pondicherry from 1st February 2019. On the first day itself the first poster of this film was released in which we find black and white look of Sai Tamhankar, which is without make up. And therefore, there is a lot of curiosity among Sai’s fans, as this film will be shot with I Phone and in this film Sai will be working without make up.
Speaking about this film, Sai Tamhankar says, “This is the first film which is being shot on I Phone and my look is very natural in this film, as there is no make up and no hairstyle. The entire film is being shot in Pondicherry and I am enjoying every moment during this process, which is like attending a workshop. I feel that every actress should experience working in such a film, where she gets a chance to come out of her comfort zone and attempt something different.”
By the way, after ‘Vazandar‘ this is the second film Sai Tamhankar is doing with film maker Sachin Kundalkar.
Sachin Kundalkar is shooting his new Marathi film on a Smartphone
National award winning film maker Sachin Kundalkar who made Marathi films like ‘Nirop‘, ‘Gandha‘, ‘Happy Journey‘, ‘Rajwade & Sons‘, & ‘Vazandaar‘ is presently shooting his next Marathi film ‘Pondicherry‘ in Pondicherry itself. Attempting something different every time, this time he is making a travel vacation film and therefore he has selected a picturesque place like Pondicherry with the same title. But, the highlight of this film is that this film is being shot by him on a smartphone.
Having seen Marathi films on the backdrop of cities like Mumbai, Pune, Konkan or Goa, this time the Marathi film lovers will witness a different location outside Maharashtra and that too at a place, which is known for its picturesque locations. Not much was known about the film’s cast and story, except that he along with writer Tejas Modak were doing a film on the backdrop of Pondicherry. But, recently, Sachin Kundalkar shared a photo clearly indicating that Sai Tamhankar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Neena Kulkarni formed his team of lead artistes. And, this is very interesting!
Marathi actor Rohit Kokate is also inviting attention in ‘Date with Saie’
So far, we had only heard about Sai Tamhankar playing title role in the Marathi web series ‘Date with Saie’ released on Zee 5. But, now there is a lot of talk about her co star Rohit Kokate, who according to Sai herself has given a wonderful performance. Recently, Sai appreciated her co star’s performance, stating that he has performed so well that anyone would be scared of the character he has played in this film.
It may be recalled that Rohit Kotake is not new to acting field. He was earlier seen in films like ‘Kaul-A calling’ released two years ago and ‘Bogda’ which was released this year. Now, in this web series, his performance is not only appreciated by Sai and other artistes but also the viewers, who are watching him. The theme of this series shows how dangerous could be a particular fan’s love and admiration for his favourite artiste. And Rohit is playing that dangerous fan in this film.
Sai Tamhankar is the first big star to perform Stand up Comedy
Sai Tamhankar has always been in the news for some or the other reason. Recently, we saw her performing in a web series . Then, we heard about her involvement in Wrestling Competition League, when she owned a team. And now, she has turned a Stand up Comedian. This clearly shows her enthusiasm and her ability to do the things which she feels are right for her. No wonder, she has got a big fan following on social networking media.
Sai recently, posted a video on instagram giving the information about her Stand up Comedy show at a particular venue in Thane on Sunday evening. We often find new artistes attempting such things to get noticed about their acting skills. But, Sai who has already established herself in this filed on television and films, has found something new in this show. This is what she has to say, ” I have always admired such shows and also the artistes performing in it. In my acting career, I have performed in few comedy films. But, this stand up comedy is something different.“
Sai Tamhankar’s new web series ‘Date With Saie’ to release next month
Having seen popular A listed Bollywood artistes like Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique, R Madhavan, Bhoomi Pednekar in Web Series, now we will find popular Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar also following their footsteps. Sai will be playing her own self in this web series suitably titled ‘Date with Saie‘ . She will be the first actress to play her own self in the web series.
According to the makers of this series, Sai is being followed by her crazy fan , who is filming her movements on his mobile camera, in this so called thriller. Sai herself is very curious about this project and is eagerly waiting for its release next month. Reacting on this role, Sai says, “I have never played this type of character before and therefore it was a different experience to know how a fan can make your life miserable.” Incidentally, Sai is also playing a judge in an ongoing comedy show on Marathi television.
