World Premiers of Four Marathi films at NAFA Film Fest
The North American Film Association ( NAFA) has been doing a lot to promote Marathi films in USA and Canada. Last year, for the first time they had organised a Marathi film festival for the Marathi film lovers from USA and Canada. This year the organisers have have planned a grand event from July 25th to 27th 2025 in California Theatres, San Jose.
The World Premiere of Four Marathi films will be held during this festival and the four films selected for this show are, ‘Snow flower’ directed by Gajendra Ahire, ‘Muktai’ directed by Digpal Lanjekar, ‘Chhabila’ directed by Anil Bhalerao and ‘Raavsaheb’ directed by Nikhil Mahajan.
According to NAFA Founder Mr. Abhijit Gholap , this festival is not just not the presentation of art but promoting Marathi films to the audience from USA and Canada. On 25th July, there will be awards night followed by Gala dinner. On 26th and 27th July, besides World Premiere of above mentioned four films there will be premiere of 16 short films, four foreign language films, Students section, Master classes, Meet & Greet and Live performances.
Many top Marathi celebrities like Dr. Mohan Agashe, Mr. Amol Palekar, Sachin Khedekar, Mahesh Kothare, Ashwini Bhave, Sonali Kulkarni ( Sr.), Avadhoot Gupte, Adinath Kothare, Vaidehi Parshurami, Madhur Bhadarkar will be attending this festival. BMM’s 57 Maharashtra Mandals have offered their support for this grand film fest.
संतश्रेष्ठ श्री ज्ञानेश्वर माऊलींच्या भूमिकेत तेजस बर्वे (Tejas Barve)
अध्यात्म, ज्ञान आणि भक्तीचा संगम म्हणजे कैवल्यसाम्राज्य चक्रवर्ती संतश्रेष्ठ श्री ज्ञानेश्वर माऊली. वारकरी संप्रदायाचे आधारस्तंभ असलेल्या माऊलींनी मराठी भाषेत ‘भावार्थदीपिका’ अर्थात ‘ज्ञानेश्वरी’ ग्रंथ लिहून वेद-उपनिषदांचे गूढ सामान्यजनांसाठी उलगडले. त्यांनी ‘अमृतानुभव’ ग्रंथातून जीवनाचे तत्त्वज्ञान मांडले. त्यांच्या ओवीबद्ध लेखनशैलीत सहजता असूनही त्यात गहन आध्यात्मिक अर्थ आहे. अशा या माऊली ज्ञानेश्वरांच्या लाडक्या बहिणीची चरित्रकथा येत्या १८ एप्रिलपासून ‘संत ज्ञानेश्वरांची मुक्ताई’ (Sant Dnyaneshwaranchi Muktai) या चित्रपटातून उलगडणार आहे. दिग्पाल लांजेकर लिखित-दिग्दर्शित या चित्रपटाची निर्मिती रेश्मा कुंदन थडानी यांनी केली असून प्रस्तुती ए.ए.फिल्म्स ही नामांकित वितरण संस्था करीत आहे.

वारकरी संप्रदायात त्यांचे स्थान अनन्यसाधारण आहे. भक्तीमार्गातील त्यांचे योगदान अनमोल असून हरिपाठातील अभंग आजही प्रेरणा देतात. ज्ञानेश्वर माउलींनी आळंदी येथे समाधी घेतली, परंतु त्यांची माणूसधर्माची विचारधारा अजरामर आहे. संतश्रेष्ठ ज्ञानेश्वरांची जनमानसाच्या काळजात घर करणारी भूमिका या चित्रपटात तेजस बर्वे (Tejas Barve) हा गुणी कलाकार साकारणार आहे. मराठी रंगभूमीची पार्श्वभूमी असलेला तेजस गेली अनेक वर्षे मराठी रंगभूमी, मालिका आणि चित्रपट क्षेत्रात कार्यरत आहे. या चित्रपटात माऊली साकारण्यासाठी तेजसने प्रचंड अभ्यास आणि मेहनत केली आहे. संत ज्ञानेश्वर आणि मुक्ताबाई यांच्यातील हृद्य भावाबहिणीचे नाते ‘संत ज्ञानेश्वरांची मुक्ताई’ या चित्रपटात आपल्याला अनुभवता येणार आहे.
