Mrunmayee Deshpande to direct ‘Mann Fakira’ based on Marriages and beyond
Three years ago while unveiling the first look of her film ‘Anuraag’ Mrunmayee Deshpande had announced that soon she will be directing two Marathi films. Incidentally, ‘Anuraag’ was presented by her own production company Mrunmayee Deshpande Creations along with producer-director Dr. Ambarish Darak. One of the two names announced by her that time was ‘Atharavaa Oont’. But later, we didn’t hear much about her progress in direction, though we knew that she played a key role in assisting Dr. Darak, during the making of ‘Anuraag’.
Mrunmayee had inclination towards direction since her college days and she had even directed a play and won the best direction award. And she has been working very hard to achieve her ultimate goal, besides performing variety of roles on big screen through films like ‘Katyar Kaljaat Ghusali’, ‘Natasamrat’, ‘Mokala Shwaas’, ‘Anuraag’, ‘Farzand’ and the most latest ‘Fatehshikast’ .
Now, we understand that her dream has come true. Mrunmayee will be making her debut in direction through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Mann Fakira’, which stars Suvrat Joshi, Sayali Sanjeev, Anjali Patil in lead roles. Having already proved herself as the most talented actress on stage, television and big screen, this is a big opportunity for Mrunmayee to prove her mettle in the creative field direction. We wish her all the best.
‘Times Marathi Film Icon 2019′ felicitate Marathi on screen and back stage artistes
Marathi films with their out of the box scripts have already impressed the film lovers all over the world. So, it will not be surprising if the top media houses don’t take note of the talented Marathi artistes and people behind making such films with mind blowing subjects. One such media house in Times Group, which had organised a big event (Times Marathi Film Icon) on Tuesday to felicitate Marathi artistes for their on screen performances over the years and those behind the screen for their contribution in making quality award winning films.
The grand event titled ‘Times Marathi Film Icon 2019′ felicitated three prominent Marathi artistes like Ashok Saraf, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Mahesh Manjrekar on this occasion. But apart from these three other talented personalities like Subodh Bhave, Amruta Khanvilkar, Ajay- Atul, Guru Thakur Aadarsh Shinde, Vikram Gaikwad & Mahesh Limaye were also honoured.
Reacting on his felicitation legend of Marathi film industry Ashok Saraf said, “This award is like an acknowledgement for my work. I was always having a doubt whether what I perform is really appreciated by the audience? But, with this award that doubt has been cleared.” Renowned actor director Producer Sachin Pilgaonkar also thanked Times Group and recalled his memories of his film ‘Ashi Hi Banvabanavi’ which was made by him 31 years ago. He also paid tributes to late Viju Khote who passed away only few days ago.
Ajay Atul whose music had popularised among music lovers during the past decade entertained the audience singing in their melodious voice. Among others who entertained the invitees were singers Priyanka Barve, Aditi Bhagwat and the team of ‘Bharatiya Digital Party’ which presented their stand up comedy. Pushkar Shrotri anchored the show . Among those who present on this occasion were celebrities like Reena Agarwal, Sayali Sanjeev, Sonalee Kulkarni, Prasad Oak, Nivedita Saraf, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Shinde, Jayant Wadkar, Rajesh Mhapuskar, Vaishali Samant, Ashok Shinde, Shreyas Jadhav and others.
Hemant Dhome shoots Satarcha Salman song using his creativity
Every director has his own ideas especially when a song from the film is to be shot. Location plays very important role in song picturisation. And we have seen this happen in Hemant Dhome directed last film ‘Ye re Ye Re Paisa 2′. No wonder songs of this film were used during its trailer launch. Now, Hemant Dhome is busy shooting his next film ‘Satarcha Salman’ . Few days ago he revealed the names of two actresses opposite his lead hero Suyog Gorhe. Now, we understand that he shot an important song from this film with the wordings of the title of this film in Kenjal village in Satara.
The song depicts a colourful atmosphere with villagers wearing traditional dresses while dancing and Suyog Gorhe getting good response from co artistes in this dance sequence. Speaking about his humorous experience while picturing this song, he said, “I wanted a very suitable atmosphere around to picture this song. But, being a village I could not find proper background. Finally, I requested the villagers living around the main square of the village that I would like to paint their houses with different colours. And they agreed immediately. In fact, they came up with the choice of different bright colours selected by each one of them. Their prompt response only boosted my confidence and everything went on well.”
Sayali Sanjeev and Shivani Surve to play female lead in ‘Satarcha Salman’
Recently, when the teaser of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Satarcha Salman’ was unveiled on social media it presented the dashing look of lead actor Suyog Gorhe . And it received overwhelming response from the viewers. But, there was curiosity among the viewers to know who was in the female lead in this film. Now, this curtain has been raised and it has been disclosed that there will be two female artistes in the female lead.
Sayali Sanjeev and Shivani Surve are the two faces in the female lead opposite Suyog Gorhe in this film, which has been indicated through their character poster released on social media. While Sayali sanjeev will be playing the innocent and simple character of Madhuri Mane, the bold and dashing character of Deepika Bhosale will be played by Shivani Surve. Now, it remains to be seen who will be the heroine of Suyog Gorhe in this film?
Produced by Prakash Sindhi the film is written and directed by Hemant Dhome, who has handled variety of subjects so far. The film will be released on 11th October 2019 all over Maharashtra.

‘Kahe Diya Pardes’ – New serial on Zee Marathi
Love has no boundaries. It cannot be restricted within caste, religion and region. Now, one such subject will be dealt on Zee Marathi‘s new serial ‘Kahe Diya Pardes‘, which is scheduled for telecast from 28th March 2016. The serial will be telecast at 9 pm from Monday to Saturday. It will present the love story of one such couple Gauri and Shiv belonging to different regions and also emotion filled relationship between father and his daughter.
In this serial Sayali Sanjeev, who was recently seen in Marathi film ‘Police Line‘ plays the lead role of Gauri, while Rishi Saxena plays the role of Shiv in this serial. Gauri’s father’s role is played by Mohan Joshi, while Shubhangi Gokhale plays her Mother in this serial. The other characters of this serial are all Hindi speaking artistes, as most of the shooting of this serial will be held in Banaras. Produced by Mahesh Tagde and Jitendra Gupta, the serial is directed by Ajay Mayekar. Now, it remains to be seen, how our Marathi audience will accept such a subject, where there will be dialogues in Hindi too.
