First look of ‘Sangharsh Yatra’ promises a realistic biopic
Biopics of famous personalities from Maharashtra, have always received good response from Marathi film lovers. Best examples are films like ‘Dr.Prakash Baba Amte‘ & ‘Lokmanya‘. Actually, much depends on the research and hard work put in by the film maker, to present the important happenings in the lives of such people, in a realistic way. But, what is more important is the selection of artistes, as they should be acceptable by the audience.
Till now, we were not aware, as to how the lead actor Sharad Kelkar looks, while portraying the character of late Gopinath Munde. But, with the unveiling of the first look of ‘Sangharsh Yatra‘, we are all convinced that the prosthetic make up done by Mr. Pradeep Premgirikar for actor Sharad Kelkar, does make him look like the late dynamic leader of Maharashtra. Sharad has not only resembled him, with this special make up on his face, but he has also convincingly used the body language and style of the dialogue delivery of the leader.
We also had the glimpse of other important characters played by Shruti Marathe & Dipti Bhagwat, in this first look and they too are expected to give their best. Speaking about the delay in releasing this film, after announcement of its scheduled release, last month, the makers of the film, have jokingly put it, “ Mr. Munde was always in a habit of arriving late, for functions and meetings. Therefore, we felt that his film should also be released behind scheduled date.”
But, the day they have selected for release now, is 19th February 2016; which also happens to be the release date of four other films, namely, ‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’, ‘Vighnaharta Mahaganapati’, ‘Ek Hotee Rani’ & ‘7 Roshan Villa’. And, all of them are different types of films. So, we will have to wait and see, which film will be ahead in the race?

“Playing the role of Radha, is more challenging” – Shruti Marathe
Shruti Marathe to begin her new year with a bang
Though she has been able to gain popularity as an actress on small screen, Shruti Marathe is still trying hard to establish herself as a lead actress, in Marathi films. She did receive lead roles in few films including ‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’; but these films didn’t do well at ticket windows. But, her performance was noticed in films like ‘Rama Madhav’, ‘Taptapadi’ and latest released film ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2’.
With few days left for the opening of new year, Shruti Marathe is looking forward to release of her two films ‘Sangharshayatra’ and ‘Bandh Nylonche’, in which she has prominent roles to play. While in ‘Sangharshayatra’, she plays the role of Pankaja Munde , the young dynamic leader and daughter of late BJP leader late Gopinath Munde, in ‘Bandh Nylonche’ she plays opposite Subodh Bhave , which is also equally important role, as she has to react more, instead of delivering her dialogues, which are very limited to her share. But, Shruti is happy with these two roles and is eagerly waiting for the release of these two films.
Sunil Nair and Jatin Wagle launch ‘Bandh Nylon Che’ in style
Music release of a Marathi film, is considered to be a very important event, for film’s promotion. Till now, not many were aware of this Marathi film ‘Bandh Nylon Che’; but, with the grand launch of music of film ‘Bandh Nylon Che‘, the only three songs in ‘Bandh Nylon Che’ are likely to popularize, besides the strong star cast of ‘Bandh Nylon Che’. Highlight of this film is that the film is produced by Sunil Chandrika Nair, who has produced three Malyalam films, so far. This is his debut Marathi film, as a producer. Moreover, the director of ‘Bandh Nylon Che’ Jatin Wagle is the son of Satish Wagle, the man behind producing Bollywood films like ‘Pyar Hi Pyar’ and ‘Namak Haram’.
On this occasion, director Jatin himself introduced all the artistes and technical people from his film, including music director Amitraj, lyricists Mandar Cholkar , Sachin Pathak ( YOYO), singers Avadhoot Gupte, Adarsh Shinde and debutant singer Aditya Patekar. And, all three of them performed live, singing the three songs from ‘Bandh Nylon Che’. All the important artistes in the film, namely, Mahesh Manjrekar, Medha Manjrekar, Sunil Barve, Shruti Marathe & little Pranjal Parab were called on the dais and asked to speak a few words, about their roles. Subodh Bhave arrived very late, almost after the function was over. Surprisingly, both Mahesh and Medha are playing double role in this film and the story of ‘Bandh Nylon Che’ relates to today’s lifestyle and its effect on the relationship between two generations.
Sanjay Narvekar is also in a guest appearance in the film, performing an important role. He too could not make it for the function, because of his birthday. But, the main attraction of the function was its music, which entertained the audience.
Big expectations from ‘Sangharsha Yatra’
The Biopic on the life of late BJP leader Gopinath Munde, ‘Sangharsha Yatra’ is all set to release soon. And, watching the photo of lead actor Sharad Kelkar in the get up of Gopinath Munde, has certainly raised the hopes about this film, which also stars Shruti Marathe, in the role of most active lady politician Pankaja Munde, in this film. So, in this film Shruti Marathe is playing the role of Sharad Kelkar’s daughter; but watching the get up of Sharad kelkar, we are convinced that Shruti would suit in her role.
The film also introduces Amruta Fadavnis, wife of chief minister of Maharashtra, as a singer. She has rendered one song very confidently in this film on the music of Shrirang Urhekar & Aniruddha Joshi , which she presented live, during the music release of this film, recently. Directed by Sakar Raut, the film also stars Deepti Bhagwat, Omkar karve, Girish Pardeshi, Pritam Kangane & Shilpa Gandi, in other important roles..
‘Bandh Nylonche’ first poster unveiled
Mobile phones, internet and social media has made today’s new generation techno savvy. And, their addiction to these electronic gadgets, is separating them from their parents and their love and affection. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bandh Nylonche’ has taken up this issue, throwing light on this rising problem, noticed in many houses. This film, directed by Jatin Wagle, is based on the one act play with the same name, written by Ambar Hadap and Ganesh Pandit. So, it will be interesting to see the cinematic version of this subject, on big screen.
The film presents an interesting theme showing how the technological advancement during next ten years has an effect on the person addicted to mobile phone and social media. Rama Madhav : An Immortal Love story
Rating: ★★★★
Studio/presenter: Shivam-Jemin Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. Producer: Shivam-Jemin Enterprise Pvt. Ltd Writer, Director: Mrinal Kulkarni Art: Nitin Chandrakant Desai Director of Photography: Ate Editor: Jayant Jathar Music: Anand Modak Genres: Drama Censor: U/A Duration: 135 Min. Cast: Alok Rajwade, Parna Pethe, Ravindra Mankani, Mrinal Kulkarni, Prasad Oak, Sonalee Kulkarni, Amol Kolhe, Shruti Marathe, Shruti Karlekar Movie Review by: Sanskruti Bhatkar |
Directed by Mrinal Kulkarni under the banner of Shivam Jemin Films Pvt. Ltd., new Marathi film Rama Madhav is based on the Era of the Peshwa Period. It is 17th Century’s immortal love story. Having made debut in direction last year, through ‘Prem Mhanjae Prem Asata’, this is the second film directed by Mrinal Kulkarni. Through this film Mrinal kulkarni presents the love story of Rama and Madhavrao, covering important happenings in their life.
The film begins with Madhav, (played by Alok Rajwade), son of Narayanrao Peshwa; getting married to little Ramabai (Shruti Karlekar), in a private ceremony in Pune. Then, we find the humour filled incidences, where little Rama interacts with different people in that huge palace, including some appealing encounters with teenaged Madhav. She does receive the affection from Gopikabai ( played by Mrinal Kulkarni) and aunty Parvatibai ( Shruti Marathe); but, has to face the arrogance of another aunty Anandibai ( Sonalee Kulkarni), who is selfish.
After the death of Nanasaheb, sixteen year old Madhavrao is made the next Peshwa of the Maratha Empire. But, Nanasaheb’s brother Raghunathrao( Prasad Oak) , who is supposed to assist him in the administrative affairs, walks out of the office displaying his anger, having lost his chance. Then begins the love and hate story of this film, after Rama grows older by six years, and under the peshwaship of brave Madhavrao, Maratha power recovering from the losses suffered during the Panipat Campaign.
Time comes, when Madhavrao’s health deteriorates after 1770, as he is diagnosed with tuberculosis. Despite the efforts of the best doctor, his end comes at the young age of 27,when Rama sacrifices her life, as sati, the tradition that prevailed those days.
The film has a magnificent feel, because of the costumes made by Poornima oak, suited to that era, lovely art work by Nitin Chandrakant Desai, good music by Anand Modak , proper editing by Jayant Jathar and excellent photography by Rajiv Jain. Mrinal Kulkarni has done a wonderful job as a director and above all, the great performances come from all the artistes right from Shruti Karlekar to veteran Ravindra Mankani. The film is really grand and a worth watching movie. Can watch with your family. In this modern century also, people would surely like to watch such a historical film on big screen.
‘Slambook’ to present one more adolescent love story
It is very common in film industry, when a particular genre film attains success, fiscally; a lot of copy-cats follow the same theme. A few years ago, a Ravi Jadhav directed marathi movie ‘Time Pass’, which dealt with adolescent love birds, fared astoundingly well at booking office. Now, a new upcoming Marathi movie ‘Slambook’ also deals with adolescent love. Trailer of the film, which was launched recently, in Mumbai, also gives an impression of copy-paste of TP. Even the lead pair is coincidentally a lookalike of ‘Time Pass’.
But, the director of the film, Ruturaj Dhalgade, has categorically denied it . According to him, it’s a story of adolescent lovers, which goes beyond all such previous film on teenage love . It deals with the time span between coin-box telephone and cell-phone and shows how the internet craziness adversely affects today’s youth.
With first look, music of this film was also released. ‘Slambook’ music is composed by seven composers, viz. Shubhankar, Vishal, Rasik, Sidhaan, Sagar, Prashat and Jagdish and playback is by Sonia Mundhe, Shubhankar, Rasik Metangale, Hrishikesh Ranade. Versatile super singer Vaishali Samant has also lent her voice for ‘Morya’ song, which is picturised on Shruti Marathe.
Dilip Prabhavalkar and Kushal Badrike, who are a part of the cast were present at the function. ‘Slambook’ is produced by Dhalgade, Ruturaj Dhalgade and co-produced by Chhaya Mhatre, Rohit Mhatre and the cast comprises of Dilip Prabhavalkar, Usha Nadkarni, Mangesh Desai, Madhavi Soman, Kushal Badrike, Supriya Pathare, Abhijit Chavan, Yogesh Shirsat, Shruti Marathe and a new lead pair Shantanu Ranade and Ritika Shrotri.
The film will be released on 21st August 2015.
