‘Mogara Phulalaa’ emits the pleasant fragrance of mild humour
During the 70s film makers like Hrishikesh Mukherkee and Basu Chatterjee offered some quality films generating mild humour, very successfully through their gripping screenplay. Perhaps inspired by the films of these two film makers, national award winning Marathi film maker Shrabani Deodhar has tried this experiment in Marathi through her latest released film ‘Mogara Phulala’. And well suited to the title of her film, she has successfully presented this film to emit the pleasant fragrance of mild humour.
Very effectively director Shrabani Deodhar tells you the emotional bonding between a 30+ typical most obedient ‘mama’s boy’ Sunil Kulkarni ( Swapnil Joshi) and his possessive mother ( Neena Kulkarni) . The dominating mother whose younger brother in law and elder son have married the girls of their choice, after her husband’s death, wants her younger son to marry the girl of her choice. And Sunil who is a software engineer does what his mother feels right for him.

But, after rejecting about 38 marriage proposals, Sunil finally falls in love with a woman Shivangi Gupte ( Sai Deodhar) who is almost of his age, but is a widow, who has a little daughter Reva. Shivangi works as Asst ,Manager in a co-op Bank , where Sunil along with his friend Mayur ( Sandeep Pathak) have set up a software programme for them. Both come closer, when Sunil’s bachelor uncle who is a and dramatist visits the joint family and happens to stage a play for Shivangi’s bank for competition, on the insistence of bank manager Dhaigude( Anand Ingale). When Sunil’s mother comes to know about the closeness of her son with Shivangi, she plays a game to separate them. Finally, all goes well after sequence of interesting happenings .
‘Mogara Phulalaa’ is certainly a well made film to keep the audience engaged from start to finish. The appealing story of Shrabani Deodhar supported by crisp screenplay and dialogues by Sachin Mote makes ‘Mogara Phulala’ more presentable . Music is not the base of this film, but Rohit Raut’s music is appealing for two background songs. Equally good is Amol Gole‘s superb photography. But, what appeals the most are the excellent performances of Marathi Superstar Swapnil Joshi ,popular TV star Sai Deodhar , veteran actress Neena Kulkarni , Chandrakant Kulkarni and a big team of artistes in supporting roles. Director Shrabani Deodhar has extracted the best out of all these versatile artistes, in almost all the scenes. All in all ‘Mogara Phulala’ has turned out to be a worth watch film for all.
Sandeep Pathak finds a good role in ‘Mogra Phulaalaa’
Sandeep Pathak is known for some of his memorable roles in television serials and films. No matter the size of his roles, he has always made his presence felt through a variety of characters he has portrayed so far. Sandeep will now be seen in the role of a buddy of Swapnil Joshi, the lead star of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Mogra Phulaalaa‘, which is directed by Shrabani Deodhar. The film is now set for release all over Maharashtra on 14th June 2019.

Recently the poster of this film was released with a perfect tagline on friendship, which reads, “Sopa Kaam Awghad Karnare Mitra Kathin Astat” (Friends make simple things complicated to handle). Speaking about his character Sandeep says, “I always desired to have a role in the strong story. I like films that have important roles in every character. My dream to act with experienced actors, talented director and to make my own bit for a quality production was all fulfilled while working in ‘Mogra Phulaalaa’. I am thankful to Shrabani Deodhar, Swwapnil Joshi, Kartik Sir and GSEAMS Productions for giving me this opportunity.”

Song Lyrics
का जीव तोळा तोळा तुझ्यासाठी झुरतो
Ka Jiv Tola Tola Tujhyasathi Zurato
उगाच मागे मागे तुझ्या भिरभिरतो
Ugach Mage Mage Tujhya Bhirbhirto
का जीव तोळा तोळा तुझ्यासाठी झुरतो
Ka Jiv Tola Tola Tujhyasathi Zurato
उगाच मागे मागे तुझ्या भिरभिरतो
Ugach Mage Mage Tujhya Bhirbhirto
हरवुनी तुझ्यात मी पुन्हा पुन्हा का नाव तुझे गुणगुणतो
Haravuni Tujhyat Mi Punha Punha Ka Nav Tujhe Gungunato

शहारते ते रे मन वेडे तुझ्यातच विरते
Shaharate Re Man Vede Tujhyatacha Virate
हसता तू जरा खोल काळजात हुळहुळे
Hasata Tu Jara Khol Kalajat Hulhule

Me Pan Sachin Movie Poster
‘MPM 3′ mixes more emotions with humour
In ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai‘ ( MPM) we saw the happening of love between Gautam and Gauri. In the second part we were introduced to their family members and misunderstandings between the lead pair but, finally we saw both of them agreeable for their marriage. Now, in ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-3′ (MPM -3) we find the happily married couple completing 3 years of their married life. Time comes when Gauri comes to know that she is pregnant, in spite of taking precautions. At this stage, both are not ready to become parents, due to their busy work schedule. Gautam feels that the right time would be after two years.

As the news about Gauri’s pregnancy spreads among their parents and relatives and we see the seniors in a happy mood. Finally, Gauri takes a decision to make all of them happy. And we notice all those traditional rituals observed to treat a pregnant woman in Maharashtrian families after which Gauri moves to her mother’s place, With few surprises and emotion filled happenings taking place, we find ‘all is well’ in the end, with enough material for Part 4 of this film.
‘MPM-3‘ focuses more on the busy lifestyle of the working couples today and the problems they face, when it is time for pregnancy of the woman. However, very cleverly the film shows the strong bonding of the young couple with their parents and elder members of the family, in spite of the existing generation gap. Enough scope is offered to every senior artiste in supporting cast and hence we get the feeling that it is the story of a working couple living next door.
Undoubtedly, the chemistry between Swwapnil and Mukta works very well and therefore both of them are at their best in this film too. They find good support from Mangal Kenkre, Prashant Damle, Suhas Joshi, Savita Prabhune, Vijay kenkre and others. Rohini Hattangadi who plays a close relative cum Gynecologist also impresses with her performance. What is remarkable is the use of speaking emojis reacting to every important situation in the film. The dialogues are more sensible and humour filled in the first half and so is the screenplay . But, in the second half it has been overstretched little before the climax, which is the only drawback of this film. Music and background music is just fine. Cinematography is good. Technically, it is a well made film. All in all ‘MPM-3‘ is a good family film.
