Marathi Play ‘Daha By Daha’ reaches Golden Jubilee mark
Family related subjects have always invited the attention of Marathi drama lovers. One such subject presented through recently launched Marathi Play ‘Daha By Daha’ produced by Sachin Narkar, Vikas Pawarand Aakash Pendharkar has also received overwhelming response from the Marathi theatre audience . In a very short time this play will perform the Golden Jubilee show, which certainly needs appreciation.
‘Daha By Daha’ presents the story of Ghadigaonkar family living a simple traditional lifestyle. But, how this family breaks this traditional comfort zone to attempt something different is the focus of this play. And it is for this reason the play has successfully marched to Golden Jubilee show shortly with the positive response from the audience.
This play stars Vijay Patkar, Prathamesh Parab, Supriya Pathare, Vidisha Mhaskar, Gaurav Malankar and Amir Tadwalkar. Sanjay Jamkhandi and Vaibhav Sanap are the writers while Aniket Patil has directed this play. Music by Ashutosh Waghmare, Light effects by Vijay Gole , production design by Sandesh Bendre, make up by Hitesh Pawar and dress design by Rashmi Sawant are the other credits.
Reacting to their success the producer and team members have said that they themselves have also taken inspiration from the Ghadigaonkar family presented through this play and are looking forward to achieve their next milestones of 100, 500 and 1000 shows.
Makers of award winning Short Film ‘Utarand’ to launch commercial Marathi film
Under the banner of their Zebra Entertainment they made their first short film ‘Utarand’ which won many national and international awards at various film festivals for the past two years. This film was on the subject of environment awareness. But now, this production house is all set to enter Marathi films with their new commercial film which will be a light hearted comedy.
Speaking about his production house, producer Sanjay Golapkar says, “After launching our production house, our first film was ‘Utarand’ which received very good response at various film festivals. And this praise received from such audience encouraged us to make a Marathi film which will offer wholesome entertainment. “
While explaining about their new film Mr. Sanjay added, ” Actually Music director and Lyricist team of Ganesh- Suresh had directed our previous film. Now, the story of this new film is written by them. Very soon we will announce the name of this film and the starcast. One thing I can assure is that this new entertaining film can be enjoyed by the entire family together. Shortly we will start shooting of this film and in the beginning of 20120 this film will be released.”
Veteran Marathi actor Viju Khote passes away
Veteran Marathi actor Viju Khote who made his acting debut in films through Marathi film ‘Ya Malak’ way back in 1964 is no more. He passed away today morning in his sleep at his residence. Viju Sir was no keeping well for some time due to multiple organ failure and was hospitalised on few occasions. However, at his request, during his last stage he preferred to remain at home. He was 77.
Viju Khote came into prominence because of his role of ‘Kalia’ in the super hit Hindi film ‘Sholay’ , where he played the right hand of Amjad Khan the main villain Gabbar in this film. His dialogue “Sardar, maine aap ka namak khaya hai sardar” had also become very popular . He had worked in about 300 Hindi and Marathi films in his acting career for the past 55 years. Viju Sir played a very important role in National award winning Marathi film ‘Uttarayan’ and ‘Ventilator’ was his last Marathi film released in 2016.
It may be recalled that Viju Sir was the chief guest at the MMW award function in 2015, when despite ill health he attended the function. He belonged to the family of late veteran actress Dura Khote . Veteran popular actress Shubha Khote his sister and he was uncle of actress Bhavna Balsavar.
जागतिक पर्यटन दिनी पल्लवी पाटील ने जागवल्या ‘हंपी’ भेटीच्या आठवणी
२७ सप्टेंबर हा दिवस जागतिक पर्यटन दिन म्हणून सर्वत्र साजरा केला जातो. त्यानिमित्ताने ‘क्लासमेट्स’ आणि ‘बॉइज’ फेम अभिनेत्री पल्लवी पाटीलने नुकत्याच हंपीला दिलेल्या भेटीच्या आठवणींना उजाळा दिला.
अभिनेत्री पल्लवी पाटील म्हणते, “जगातल्या सर्वोत्तम स्थळांमधलं एक उत्तम पर्यटन स्थळ म्हणून हंपीची गणना केली जाते. मी आर्किटेक असल्याने ह्या ऐतिहासिक पर्यटन स्थळाला भेट देण्याची इच्छा मला कॉलेजमध्ये असल्यापासून होती. पण ही इच्छा नुकतीच पूर्ण झाली.”
पल्लवी हंपीच्या आठवणी जागवताना म्हणते, “तुंगभद्रा नदीच्या किनारी असलेली सुंदर शिल्पं, मंदिरे पाहताना, त्यांच्यावर केलेलं कोरीव काम बघताना आपल्या प्राचीन संस्कृतीची, कलासौन्दार्याची प्रचीती येते. हंपीमध्ये भटकंती करताना प्राचीन स्थापत्यकलेचा वारसा असलेल्या ह्या हंपीच्या सौंदर्याच्या आपण प्रेमात पडतो.”
Sonalee Kulkarni to play historical character of ‘Hirkani’ on Big screen
Hirkani has a history in Maharashtra. She projects a brave character of a mother who takes the risk of coming down the steep hill only for the sake of her little child. This famous story of Hirkani will now be presented on Big screen by Iraada Entertainment forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hirkani’ . Written by Chinmay Mandlekar and directed by Prasad Oak, the new motion poster of this film was released recently at Pune’s Chatushringi temple, clearly revealing that actress Sonalee Kulkarni will be playing the title role in this film. Actor Sachin Khedekar has given his voice for this motion poster.
Present on the occasion were lead artistes of this film Sonalee Kulkarni, Amit Khedekar, Prasad Oak, Rajesh Mapuskar the creative producer & Lawrence D’souza the co producer. After the launch of this motion poster the artistes took the blessings of the of the goddess. Falguni Patel is the producer of this film, while Ratnakar Jagtap is the executive producer and they have planned the release of this film all over Maharashtra on 24th October 2019.
Will this film will turn out to be a big comeback for Sonalee Kulkarni after a long time? It remains to be seen. But, one thing is certain that this character is very powerful.
‘Anya’ Movie is being made in Marathi and Hindi language
Right from the days of beginning of Cinema , our Marathi artistes have contributed a lot by making their presence felt, whether in Marathi or Hindi language films. In fact, for a good film maker or a artiste language in no barrier. No wonder today Marathi films are watched by people speaking other languages. Now, Initiative Films with the support of Capital Woods Pictures will be making a bilingual film (Anya), which will be in Marathi and Hindi and will be directed by South Indian director Simmy Joseph, who is making his debut as a director in both Hindi as well as Marathi films.
Being made under the banner of Initiative Films with the support of Capital Woods Pictures, the film introduces the Along with stalwarts like Atul Kulkarni and Prathamesh Parab, Bhushan Pradhan and Tejashri Pradhan the film also stars Raima Sen is also making her debut in Marathi films with ‘Anya‘. The film’s star cast also includes stalwarts like Govind Namdev, Yashpal Sharma , Sunil Tawade along with Krutika Deo.
The strong subject of ‘Anya’ Movie is about human trafficking. An attempt has been made through this film to explore a realistic hard core issue in society today and expose the sordid truth behind it. Besides directing the film, Simmy Joseph has also written the story as well as the screenplay for the film. Mahendra Patil has written the dialogues for the Marathi film Sajjen Kalathil has cranked the camera for the film. Vipin Patwah from Bollywood is the music composer of the film along with Ramanathan , Rishi S and Krishna Raj while Rohit Kulkarni has scored the background music. Presently, the post production work of the film is going on in full swing and the film is slated for release all over the world in the month of November this year.
Fakt Marathi channel to offer ‘Anadi Nirgun’ Movie Festival during Navaratri
We are all aware that the nine day Navratri festival is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in different parts of the country. Fakt Marathi channel will also is celebrating Navratri by playing nine devotional movies of Goddesses for the home viewers, with a movie festival titled ‘Anadi Nirgun’. The movie festival which is commencing from 29th September will end on 7th September. All these nine movies shall be broadcasted at 08:30 time band.
The Movie Festival consists of films like ‘Aai Tulja Bhawani’ (29/09/2019), ‘Kalubai Pavali Navasala’ (30/09/2019), ‘Jai Mohata Devi’ (01/10/2019), ‘May Mauli Manudevi’ (02/10/2019), ‘Mahima Annapurna Devicha’ (03/10/2019), ‘Aai Ekvirecha Udo Udo’ (04/10/2019), ‘Jogwa Ambabaicha’ (05/10/2019), ‘Kulaswamini Tuljabhawani’ (06/10/2019) and ‘Ma Shakambharicha Mahima’ (07/10/2019). According to the channel press release, All of these movies have significant stars from Marathi industry. Also each film has a strong message underlined depicting the prowess of each goddess and women power.

‘Picasso’ poster raises a lot of curiosity about ‘Dashavtara’
We aware that Dashavatara refers to the ten primary avatars of God Vishnu. Vishnu is said to descend in form of an avatar (‘incarnation) to restore cosmic order. A popular traditional folk art based on ‘Dashavatara’ which has a history of over 800 years, is still practiced in Laxmi Narayan temple based in Waval village in Konkan. There are 3500 folk artistes who have still kept this art alive, despite no financial help coming from government.
Therefore, Platoon One films (founded by Shiladitya Bora) has produced a Marathi film ‘Picasso’, which is based on this subject. This film is directed by Abhijit Mohan Warang. The film is dedicated to all the folk artistes involved in this folk art. Incidentally, the film has been selected at two popular film festivals- The Jagran Film festival in Mumbai and Brahmaputra Film Festival in Guwahati and will be screened towards the end of this month.
Recently, the poster of this film was released on social media, which has actor Prasad Oak in a traditional get up of a folk artiste. The film has been shot at the location of this old temple in Konkan and stars child artiste Samay Sanjeev Tambe in lead role, while his father’s role is played by renowned actor Prasad Oak. Tushar Paranjape who was writer of National Award winning film ‘Killa’ is the creative director of this film. According to him the subject of this film had always raised his curiosity about the lifestyle of these folk artistes and therefore took extra efforts in presenting their plight through this film.

Marathi Film on 12 sun signs ‘Aalay majhya Raashila’ launched with Muhurat
We have seen the success of humour filled programme on stage and television by famous of Mr. Sharad Upadhye in the past , which was based on the 12 sun signs . Now producer Ashwini Anand Pimpalkar and director Ajit Shirole will be presenting a film on this interesting subject . Recently, the muhurat of this film suitably titled ‘Aalay Majhya Raashila’ was performed at the hands of well Known vastu-consultant Anand Pimpalkar & popular Marathi actress Nirmiti Sawant.
Speaking about her involvement with this film as an artiste, Nirmiti Sawant said, she liked the idea of this film and because of her good relationship with Mr. Anand Pimpalkar, agreed to perform in this film, while anand Pimpalkar said that he agreed to produce this film, because he liked this interesting subject. This film’s story is written by Hemant Edlabadkar. While Guru Thakur and Abhay Inamdar have penned the lyrics for this film, music is by Chaitanya Aadkar.
