Ranbir Kapoor surprises in the trailer of ‘Bucket List’
The trailer of Madhuri Dixit’s debut Marathi film ‘Bucket List‘ was released on her birthday recently. The trailer came as a surprise for the media persons, before the press show of the film ‘Redu‘. And the dhak dhak actress of Bollywood invited all the attention with her Marathi dialogues in typical Puneri style, showing her dominance in the film. But, what actually surprised the media persons, was the glimpse of Popular bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in one of the scenes with Madhuri Dixit Nene.
It may be recalled that Madhuri Dixit had played guest appearance in the Ghagra song of Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani‘ . And therefore it seems that Ranbir has reciprocated at the right time by appearing in this Marathi film, which is also Madhuri’s debut in Marathi. There is another popular veteran Bollywood actress in the form of Shubha Khote, who also has a prominent role in this film. There are other renowned names like Dilip Prabhavalkar, Vandana Gupte, Ila Bhate and others who are part of this film. Sumeet Raghvan is certainly there in the lead role, but the film clearly indicates that it is a women oriented film. Incidentally, ‘Bucket List‘ is being distributed by renowned Bollywood film maker Karan Johar, which certainly speaks big about this film.
Four Marathi films to release coming Friday
At a time, it is difficult for Marathi film makers to find sufficient theatre screens to release their screens, this coming Friday we find the announcement of Four Marathi films. None of these films have announced their theatres and timings, with just two days to go. The names of these four Marathi films are, ‘Redu‘, ‘Wagherya‘, ‘Monkey Baat‘ & ‘Mahasatta 2035‘. Press shows of these four films have been booked with 12 noon and 3 pm shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, clearly indicating their release this Friday.
In the past we have already seen the fate of Marathi films released simultaneously. How do they expect the Marathi film lovers to watch so many films during the week? Incidentally, the popular game of cricket is in full swing, with interesting stage of play off nearing. Therefore, one really doubts even sufficient turn out at cinema halls for these films. And, we have seen this happen during the past few days. If at all, you want the people to come to cinema halls , you need a very strong subject, with word of mouth priase. So, it remains to be seen which of these four films would invite the attention of film lovers, so as to make them watch it in cinema halls.
Ashok Samarth to play a Boxing Trainer in ‘Bedhadak’
Having already impressed the home viewers with his gigantic personality in the role of ACP Kirtikar, in the Police investigative serial ‘Lakshya’ , Ashok Samarth has always invited attention with his perfect physique in the roles of a Police Officer in Hindi and Marathi films. But, this time director Santosh Manjrekar will be presenting him as Boxing Trainer through his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bedhadak’, which is all set to release on 1st June 2018 all over Maharashtra.
Govind Tavare who has produced this film has also written the story of this film, besides making his acting debut through one of the important roles in this film. Actually, ‘Bedhadak’ is an action-filled film based on Boxing sport and therefore the choice of Ashok Samarth as a trainer seems to be most appropriate. Besides Ashok Samarth and Govind Taware, the film also stars Ganesh Yadav, Sushrut Mankani, Anant Jog, Prasad Limaye, Namrata Gaikwad, Sneha Raikar and Poonam Phanse. Cinematography by Suresh Deshmane and music by Pravin Bandkar are the other credits of this film.

Sadashiv Amrapurkar Memorial Trust to help needy film makers
As an actor, Sadashiv Amrapurkar had created his own identity in Hindi and Marathi film industry. As a citizen of this country, he never forgot his social commitments to the society. No wonder, after his sad demise, his family members formed a Trust Sadashiv Amrapurkar Memorial Trust to help the young filmmakers from rural parts. It may be recalled that the legendary actor himself had come from the rural area to establish himself in the tinsel town of Mumbai. And, on his own, he established himself as an actor par excellence.
Now, his daughter and filmmaker Reema Amnrapurkar who is managing the trust in her father’s name, has started a project with the name of ‘Saadhan’ to provide the scholarship in the form of supply of equipment to genuine filmmakers, who are unable to hire the equipments for filmmaking. The Trust will select the projects from such film makers and after going through the subject, will come forward to help such projects by way of part or full scholarship. For the past three years, the trust has been conducting workshops on filmmaking in schools and colleges in rural areas of Ahmednagar district. Hon. Minister Mr. Vinod Tawde has also shown his support for the work undertaken by Sadashiv Amrapurkar Memorial Trust.
Kishore Kadam to play comedy role in forthcoming film ‘Wagherya’
Known for his extraordinary performances in serious roles in many awards winning Marathi films in the past, Kishore Kadam has also established himself as a superb character actor with lots of potentials through many Hindi films. But, no Marathi filmmaker has tried him in a comedy role to exploit his full potential. However, in forthcoming Marathi film, ‘Wagherya’ will present him in a comedy role that too in the rurally based subject. Generally noticed as a poor laborer wearing dhoti and baniyan, this time Kishore Kadam will be seen in a safari suit.
Speaking about this role, Kishore Kadam says, “This is a different type of film and after a long time a comedy subject is being presented through this film. I really enjoyed working with all renowned artists , many of whom are my old friends.” Written and directed by Sameer Asha Patil, the film also stars Bharat Ganeshpure, Hrishikesh Joshi, Suhas Palshikar, Kishore Chougule, Leena Bhagwat & Chhaya Kadam. On 18th May this film will be arriving at cinema halls to entertain the audience during this summer vacation.
Songs from the film ‘Dry Day’ are receiving good response
Songs of Marathi films have always turned out to be a successful formula in making the film hit. But, for that you need good meaningful lyrics and good music. Some of the old Marathi poems penned by well known poets are still on the lips of Marathi language lovers. And one of them is the poem ‘Gori Gori Paan, Phulasarkhi Chhaan...’. There were many albums of children’s music, where this song finds its place.
Now, in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dry Day‘ you will find the remix of this song among the other songs composed by music director Ashwin Srinivasan. Besides this song another song which is romantic song ‘Ashi kasha..‘ is also popularising among the listeners on radio and social networking sites, especially the young generation. ‘Dry Day‘ is getting ready for release all over Maharashtra in July 2018. Phantom Films ventures into Marathi with ‘Youngraad’
Phantom Films combining with FutureWorks Media and Vitthal Patil Productions are all set to release their Marathi film, ‘Youngraad‘, on 6th July 2018 across Maharashtra. The film is directed by Makarand Mane and stars four young actors Chaitanya Deore, Saurabh Padvi, Shiv Wagh & Jeevan Karalkar in the lead roles. Actually, ‘Youngraad‘ is a slang used to define vagabond boys in Nasik, Known as the Dakshin Kashi (Southern Banaras) of India.
‘Youngraad‘ is a tale of four adolescent boys, which showcases the importance of friendship, innocence, love, family and values in those vulnerable years. According to producer Vitthal Patil , “This film aims to inspire the audience to reflect on their own life choices and that of others.”
Incidentally, with this film, Phantom Films have ventured into the production of Marathi films. Phantom Films is India’s first ‘Directors Company’. The company was formed by four young creative minds of the country, namely Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena. Phantom Films have a distinct focus on fostering creative energies to create enduring and entertaining content.
The star cast of ‘Youngraad‘ comprises of Chaitanya Deore, Saurabh Padvi, Shiv Wagh, Shireen Patil, Monika Chaudhari, Shashank Shende, Jeevan Karalkar, Vitthal Patil, Shantanu Gangane, Savita Prabbhune & Sharad Kelkar. The story orf this film has been penned by Makarand Mane, who is also the screenplay writer along with Shashank Shende and Aziz Madari.

पहिल्याच मालिकेमधून अवघ्या महाराष्ट्राचे मनं जिंकलेली सुरभी हांडे मालिकेमध्ये आरवीची भूमिका साकारणार आहे. तर ओमप्रकाश शिंदे मल्हार आणि निवोदित समृद्धी केळकर ही लक्ष्मीच्या भूमिकेत दिसणार आहेत. आपल्या नव्या मालिकेबद्दल बोलताना राकेश सारंग म्हणाले, “‘लक्ष्मी सदैव मंगलम्’ ही मालिका शहर आणि गावं ह्यांचातला दुरावा कमी करणारी मालिका आहे. शहरातल्या धुसमळत्या प्रेमाला अस्सल ग्रामीण प्रेमाने रंगवणाऱ्या या मालिकेमध्ये आम्ही अतिशय निरागस आणि अवखळ अशा लक्ष्मीचा प्रवास दाखवणार आहोत“.
मालिकेबद्दल तसेच भूमिकेविषयी बोलताना सुरभी हांडे म्हणाली, “मी या मालिकेमध्ये आरवी नावाची भूमिका साकारणार आहे जी डॉक्टर आहे. कलर्स मराठीवरील या मालिकेद्वारे मी रसिक प्रेक्षकांना एका नव्या भुमिकेमध्ये भेटायला येणार आहे, जे माझ्यासाठी एक प्रकारचं आव्हानचं आहे. “.
पुढे बोलताना ओमप्रकाश म्हणाला, “मी मालिकेमध्ये मल्हार नावाची भूमिका साकारणार असून मी आधी साकारलेल्या भूमिकेहून ही खूपच वेगळी आहे. मल्हार कोल्हापूर मधील असून त्याच्यासाठी त्याचे कुटुंब आणि आरवी जिच्यावर तो प्रेम करतो हे सर्वकाही आहे. मल्हार अत्यंत प्रेमळ, संवेदनशील, भावूक, मनमिळाऊ असा मुलगा आहे. ज्याप्रमाणे ही मालिका करताना आम्ही सगळे जण आनंद घेतो आहे त्याचप्रमाणे तुम्हाला देखील ही मालिका बघताना मजा येईल याची मला खात्री आहे. मी खूपच उत्सुक आहे आणि आतुरतेने १४ मेची वाट बघतो आहे“.
“Thrill is an insuperable component of cinema” – Film maker Shibu Sable
We are all aware of the journey of Sable family from “Maharashtrachi Lokdhara” till date, which has kept the interest of the audiences still alive. Now, as a representative of the third generation of Sable family Shivdarshan alias Shibu Sable wants to keep the tradition alive, with his latest film ‘Lagi Toh Chhagi‘, as far as the music is concerned. Shibu’s father Devdutta Sable ( Son of legend late Shahir Sable) has composed the music for the film with music director Anurag Godbole. A song written and composed like the one written and composed 40 years ago. Shivdarshan and his Brother Hansraj have written the subject.
As a film maker, Shibu Sable had made his debut through action filled film ‘Canvas‘ and now through this film he will be offering a comedy suspense thriller. The subject revolves around a young man, played by Abhijeet Satam, who is trouble ridden in today’s society. The film also stars Nikita Giridhar, Ravinder Singh Bakshi, Milind Ukey, Yogesh Soman, Asit Reddiz, Shaila Kanekar, Raju Bavdekar, Sagar Atlekar, Mahesh Subhedar, Akshay Bhosle, and Surendar Pal.
As a film maker, Shibu has always been fascinated by screenplays which stray from the beaten track. Speaking about this film at a press meet yesterday , he said, “‘Lagi Toh Chhagi‘ is also a step in that direction as it is a comedy suspense thriller. Thrill is an insuperable component of cinema and whatever be the genre of cinema, it is inevitable that the screenplay should have thrill. I am sure that the story will be able to keep the audience hooked to the edge of their seats till the end”.
