Marathi film ‘Lathe Joshi’ raises curiosity before its official release
Some films create a buzz prior to their release, because of receiving acclaim at various International Film festivals. ‘Lathe Joshi’ is one of them. The film had already raised curiosity for its unique title. And recently, when the teaser poster of this film was released on social networking sites, there are more discussions taking place among the film lovers. Now, it will be officially released all over Maharashtra on 13th July 2018.
Known for his award winning Marathi film ‘Halal’ Amol Kagne along with Laxman kagne is presenting this film, which is written and directed by debutant Mangesh Joshi. Amol who began his acting career as a stage artiste, will also be performing lead role in this film. Till now Marathi Film ‘Lathe Joshi’ has been shown in 21 different film festivals. At the prestigious Pune International Film Festival ( PIFF), this film has bagged many awards, besides winning the best film award. The film will also be screened at the esteemed Goa Marathi Film festival.

मराठीतील अनेक दिग्गज कलाकार या चित्रपटात असून शिवाजी महाराजांच्या भूमिकेत अभिनेता चिन्मय मांडलेकर, तर अंकित मोहन या कलाकाराने कोंडाजी फर्जंद साकारला आहे. या व्यतिरिक्त गणेश यादव, प्रसाद ओक, अजय पुरकर, मृणाल कुलकर्णी, मृण्मयी देशपांडे, प्रवीण तरडे, अस्ताद काळे, हरिश दुधाडे, नेहा जोशी, राहुल मेहेंदळे, निखील राऊत, राजन भिसे, अंशुमन विचारे, रोहन मंकणी, सचिन देशपांडे, समीर धर्माधिकारी तसेच ‘तेरे बिन लादेन‘ या चित्रपटात लादेनची भूमिका करणारा प्रद्युमन सिंग या सर्व कलाकारांच्या चित्रपटात महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका आहेत.कथेला पूरक चार श्रवणीय गाणी या चित्रपटात आहेत. गीते दिग्पाल लांजेकर व क्षितीज पटवर्धन यानी लिहिली आहेत. संगीत अमितराज तर पार्श्वसंगीत केदार दिवेकर यांचे आहे. आदर्श शिंदे व वैशाली सामंत यांनी यातील गीते स्वरबद्ध केली आहेत.
‘फर्जंद‘ चित्रपटाचे छायांकन केदार गायकवाड यांनी केले असून संकलन प्रमोद कहार यांचे आहे. साहस दृश्ये प्रशांत नाईक यांची आहेत. कलादिग्दर्शन नितीन चंद्रकांत देसाई यांचे तर ध्वनीलेखन निखील लांजेकर यांनी केले आहे. वेशभूषा पौर्णिमा ओक तर रंगभूषा सचिन देठे यांची आहे. अक्षता तिखे यांचे नृत्यदिग्दर्शन आहे. कार्यकारी निर्माते उत्कर्ष जाधव आहेत.
‘Samblang Dhamblang’ is the first Marathi song played on Swiss Radio Playlist
We all aware how some of the old Hindi songs gained popularity in a country like Russia. But, can you believe that a Marathi song released recently has been gaining popularity on Swiss radio ? And that too included in their playlist. It may be recalled that on April 15th last month, Tiyana Productions released Adarsh Shinde’s song ‘Samblang Dhamblang‘, which immediately received very good response in Maharashtra. And now, a famous radio station ‘Republic Kalkuta‘ from Switzerland have also appreciated this song.
According to Sujit Jadhav of founder and chief of Tianna Productions, this is the first song of their production. He is so happy with the good response for this Adarsh Shinde’s song from this Swiss radio channel. ” I was overwhelmed when they asked for permission to include this song in their playlist. This channel plays only selected songs from different countries and these songs are selected by their panel of music experts. ” he said.
‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ will be the first ever Marathi film to release its 3rd part
Eight years ago the Marathi film lovers received a gift of entertainment in the form of ‘Mumbai Pune Mumba 1’ , which was a super-duper hit not only in Maharashtra but also at the international level. The success was repeated when its sequel ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai -2’ was released only two years ago. And now, the history is all set to be repeated as producer Sanjay Chhabria and Associate-producer Amit Bhanushali (of 52 Friday Cinemas) and director Satish Rajwade made an announcement of the third part of Mumbai Pune Mumbai’. In Hindi this has become a trend, but in Marathi this will be the first ever Marathi film to release its 3rd part.
The popular hit pair of Swapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve also joined in for announcing the 3rd Part of the film and now this film will hit the screens across Maharashtra on September 28, 2018 The sequel ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2’ was released two years ago during Diwali , not only in Maharashtra, but also in other states like Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka and also at the international level at places like US, UK, Australia and other countries, where it received overwhelming response. Pallavi Rajwade has penned the story of ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai -3 and Screenplay and Dialogues are written by Ashwini Shende and Pallavi Rajwade.
Speaking about this third part, Director Satish Rajwade said, “We did not expect ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’( MPM) to be successful to such an extent. MPM has now become a cult, setting a trend of one of its kind love story. People are now more curious about the lives of Gautam and Gauri and related themselves with the happenings in the lives of the couple.”
‘Be Eke Be’ is ready for release
Marathi cinema is making a very good progress to create awareness among the people on various issues dealt in the subject of the film. And, one of them is the importance of education. While showing the weaknesses of our education system, the film makers do highlight the reforms which are required to be introduced in the system. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Be Eke Be‘ which is all set to release soon, has tried to throw light on this timely subject, besides showing the existing reality. Produced by Vikas Bhageria and Poornima Vhaval- Yadav this film is directed by Sanchit Yadav, who has also written the story and screenplay of this film.
Speaking about his film, the writer–director says that through his film, he has not presented the story of a village in Maharashtra but it is the condition faced by any village in India, as far as education is concerned. The film stars Sanjay Khapre, Jaywant Wadkar, Sanchit Yadav, Poornima Vhawal-Yadav, Santosh Ambre, Atul Marchande, Arun Nalawade in the lead roles along with child artistes Sahil Sitare, Pratham Sitare, Vaidehi Ovhale, Snehal Bhatade, Sagar Gurav, Sanchit Nirmale, Parth Deshpande, Atharva Kharavkar,Sairaj Kamtekar, Swapnaja jadhav, Samisha Slape,Prachi Mestri, Pooja Potfade, Neha Pawaskar & Awishkar Shedye. Cameraman Atul Jagadale & music by Vilas Gurav are the other credits of this film.
Trailer of ‘Ashtavakra’ released on social sites
The trailer of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Ashtavakra’ has been released on social networking sites and it certainly gives a glimpse of a strong dose to the audience to answer some questions posed to them. The trailer of Ashtavakra explains the meaning of this title and also how does it relate to the present circumstances. Produced by Varunraj Productions, ‘Ashtavakra’ is all set to release across Maharashtra on the 8th June 2018.
Through this film, the life of a woman jail inmate has been projected on the big screen and according to the makers of this film, it highlights an important question from a different world altogether which has not been handled so far. The entire responsibility of story, script, screenplay, dialogues, and direction has been shouldered by Pradeep Salunke, while the film is produced by Mr. Varunraj Salunke. Along with Vidyadhar Joshi and Mayuri Mandlik the film presents new artists such as Mangesh Giri, Veena Arun, Harshada Bamne and Preeti Torne-Koli. Cinematography by Vimal Mishra and music by Chandrodaya Ghosh are the other credits.
Aamir Khan & Nagraj Manjule to attend 700th show of Marathi play
Marathi play ‘Shivaji Underground in Bhimnagar Mohalla‘ which was first staged in 2018 has won many popular awards besides audience appreciation, will be staging its 700th show on 21st May 2018 at Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga, Mumbai. Highlight of this show is that two big names from film industry, namely Aamir Khan and Nagraj Manjule will guests of honour for this show.
This play is written by Rajkumar Tangade and is directed by Nandu Madhav . The play voices against those who use the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for their political gains. This special show has been arranged by Saraa Entertainment, Rangmalaa & Vidrohi Shahiri Jalsa together. The theme of this play, lyrics and music has been arranged by Shahir Sambhaji Bhagat and the artistes of this play are, Kailash Waghmare, Meenakshi Rathod, Sambhaji Tangade, Pravin Dalimbkar, Ashwni Bhalekar, Madhukar Bidve,Raju Sawant & Shravani Tangade.

Ranbir Kapoor surprises in the trailer of ‘Bucket List’
The trailer of Madhuri Dixit’s debut Marathi film ‘Bucket List‘ was released on her birthday recently. The trailer came as a surprise for the media persons, before the press show of the film ‘Redu‘. And the dhak dhak actress of Bollywood invited all the attention with her Marathi dialogues in typical Puneri style, showing her dominance in the film. But, what actually surprised the media persons, was the glimpse of Popular bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in one of the scenes with Madhuri Dixit Nene.
It may be recalled that Madhuri Dixit had played guest appearance in the Ghagra song of Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani‘ . And therefore it seems that Ranbir has reciprocated at the right time by appearing in this Marathi film, which is also Madhuri’s debut in Marathi. There is another popular veteran Bollywood actress in the form of Shubha Khote, who also has a prominent role in this film. There are other renowned names like Dilip Prabhavalkar, Vandana Gupte, Ila Bhate and others who are part of this film. Sumeet Raghvan is certainly there in the lead role, but the film clearly indicates that it is a women oriented film. Incidentally, ‘Bucket List‘ is being distributed by renowned Bollywood film maker Karan Johar, which certainly speaks big about this film.
Four Marathi films to release coming Friday
At a time, it is difficult for Marathi film makers to find sufficient theatre screens to release their screens, this coming Friday we find the announcement of Four Marathi films. None of these films have announced their theatres and timings, with just two days to go. The names of these four Marathi films are, ‘Redu‘, ‘Wagherya‘, ‘Monkey Baat‘ & ‘Mahasatta 2035‘. Press shows of these four films have been booked with 12 noon and 3 pm shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, clearly indicating their release this Friday.
In the past we have already seen the fate of Marathi films released simultaneously. How do they expect the Marathi film lovers to watch so many films during the week? Incidentally, the popular game of cricket is in full swing, with interesting stage of play off nearing. Therefore, one really doubts even sufficient turn out at cinema halls for these films. And, we have seen this happen during the past few days. If at all, you want the people to come to cinema halls , you need a very strong subject, with word of mouth priase. So, it remains to be seen which of these four films would invite the attention of film lovers, so as to make them watch it in cinema halls.
