New Marathi film ‘Thapadya’ launched with muhurat
Producers Bhausaheb Bhoir and Sharad Mhaske with director Ajit Shirole launched their new Marathi film ‘Thapadya‘ in presence of Mr. Ajitdada Pawar, former deputy CM of Maharashtra. Speaking on the occasion the producer said that through his Manasi productions he wanted to give opportunity to newcomers, who had no experience of big screen.
Newcomers in ‘Thapadya’ film Abhinay Sawant, Manasi Musale and Sonali Gaikwad were felicitated by chief guest Mr. Ajitdada Pawar. Also present on the occasion were President of Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad Mr.Mohan Joshi, Natya Nirmata President Prasad Kambli & Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahasangh President Mr. Meghraj Raje Bhosale. Finally, lead actress Manasi Musale presented a Lavani to entertain the invitees.

‘Chhand Priticha’ music launched in Mumbai
Producer Chandrakant Jadhav and writer-director N.Relekar recently launched the music of their much awaited Marathi film ‘Chhand Priticha‘ in Mumbai. On this occasion lead artistes of this film Subodh Bhave, Suvarna Kale, Harsh Kulkarni and music director of the film Pravin Kunvar were present.
The colourful event began with a skit presented by Vikas Samudre and Jaywant Bhalekar , when the first romantic song of ‘Chhand Priticha‘ film ‘Ala Aabhaal Bharun…‘ was launched. This was followed by a Lavani rendered by singers Bela Shende and Vaishali Samant. Dancing actress Suvarna Kale also presented a lavani, to invite the attention of the invitees. There are total eight songs in this film and this entertaining musical film is all set to release on 10th November 2017.
It will be ‘Whatsup Lagna’ on screen for Vaibhav & Prarthana Behere
With the success of the film ‘Coffee Aani Barach Kahi’, the lead pair of this film Vaibhav Tatwavdi and Prarthana Behere also attained lots of popularity. Now, this successful pair is returning back with their new film ‘Whats up Lagna‘ which will release next year on Valentines day. Through this film two big names are also coming together for the first time and they are Vishwas Joshi, producer of successful Natasamrat and Nanubhai Jaisinghani, the presenter of hit film ‘Duniyadari’.
Influenced by the Bollywood film makers , these two film makers have also announced the release date of their film much in advance, i.e. four months in advance and that too on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. Highlight of this film is that Producer Vishwas Joshi also makes his debut in direction through this film. According to makers of ‘Whatsup Lagna’, the entire shooting of this film is over and the post production work which is in progress, will also be over soon.
Amruta Fadnavis returns with a thriller song in Marathi film
After making her debut as a singer two years ago through Marathi film ‘Sangharshayatra’, Investment banker turned singer Amruta Fadnavis will be returning with another song titled ‘Pathlaag…’ for the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Daav’. Amruta has rendered this song on the music of ‘Aashiqui-2′ fame Jeet Ganguly. Recently, this song was recorded in Mumbai. Reacting about her experience, Amruta Fadnavis said that she really enjoyed singing this song for a thriller film on the music of Jeet Ganguly.
This will be the title song of this film, penned by Mandar Cholkar. Produced by Nitin Upadhyay under the banner of Oddball Motion Pictures, this film’s story and screenplay is by Kanishk Verma , while dialogues are written by Yogesh Markande. Mangesh Dhakade has provided background music suited to this horror mixed thriller film. According to the director, this song as well as the film will offer a different experience to the Marathi film lovers.
‘Nirbhaya’ all set to release on 6th October
Sexual harassment to women has always been the news on priority, whether it is print media or electronic media. Today, on social networking sites, various individuals are creating awareness in the society by raising the voices of women who are victims of such harassment. Our Marathi films, which are always dealing with different social issues, this time presents the story of one such woman through forthcoming film ‘Nirbhaya’ which is produced by Amol Ahirrao and directed by Anand Bachchao( Sai Anand) .
Yogita Dandekar plays the title role in this film, in the company of other artistes Smita Jaykar, Kishore Mahabole, Aniket kelkar, Abhijit Kulkarni, Omkar karve, Dnyaneshwar Wagh, Pooja Raj, Pravin Dave, Vidya Bhatia, Pratik Chandwadkar, Prakash Gaikwad, Bajarang Lahane, Vishnuu Choudhary, Siddharth, Ramakrishna Thorat, Nikita , Sangeeta & Yogita. ‘Bhavishyachi Aishi Taishi- The Prediction’ to release on 6th October
Now days we find Newspapers and Television channels giving importance to the subject of horoscope and this has been receiving good response from readers and audience. There are some astrologers, who are predicting certain things, with the help of science. Inspired by this subject, Chandra Talware wrote a script of a Marathi film and Ramesh Talware gave cinematic form to this script in the form of a film ‘Bhavishyachi Aishi Taishi- The Prediction‘ which is now set for release on 6th October 2017.
We are all aware that the highlight of ‘Bhavishyachi Aishi Taishi- The Prediction‘ film is the debut of world renowned astrologer Sundeep Kochar through an important character in this film. The film’s story revolves around three female friends, who experience a strange experience in their lives. Besides Sundeep Kochar, the Other artistes in lead roles are, Varsha Usgaonkar, Manasi Naik, Ruchita Jadhav, Harshali Zine, Asavari Joshi, Swapnil Joshi ( New), Pankaj Vishnu, Ananda Karekar, Kishor Nandlaskar and Pravin Talware in special appearance. The film is directed by Surendra Verma.
Triple Dhamaka for Marathi Drama lovers
Marathi Drama producers have always been experimenting new things, when it comes to staging the shows of their plays. We have seen a particular drama staging three shows a day at different places. We have also seen some drama producers staging their shows during early hours of morning on the first day of Diwali. But now, Marathi drama lovers will witness three shows of three different drama one after the other in the same auditorium on 1st October 2017. Initially, the first two plays mentioned above were staged separately , which received good response. Now, while launching the third play ‘Yugant‘, the makers thought of staging all the three plays together, one after the other. So, it will be a triple dhamaka offer for Drama lovers.
The names of these three plays are, ‘Wada Chirebandi‘, ‘Magna Talyakathi‘ & ‘Yugant‘ . Incidentally, all these three plays are written by Mahesh Elkunchwar and directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni. This is the first time such an experiment is done while staging these Marathi plays together and it remains to be seen , how the Marathi drama lovers would welcome this idea. But, the producers have decided to stage only 11 such shows together at different places in Maharashtra on a Sunday. And, it will be a nine hours treat in the same auditorium. The artistes performing in these plays are, Nivedita Saraf, Bharti Patil, Vaibhav Mangle, Prasad Oak, Pournima Manohar, Pratima Joshi, Neha Joshi, Ajinkya Nanavare, Deepak Kadam, Vinita Shinde, Chinmay Mandlekar, Siddharth Chandekar, Poorva Pawar, Ram Dound and Child artiste Swanand Shelke. Producers of ‘Ghuma’ meet Uddhav Thackeray over Multiplex issue
We are all aware that Marathi films have always received step motherly treatment from Multiplex owners, when it comes to offering screens. In the past we have seen many protests and thereafter it seemed that the matter was sorted out. But, the producers of ‘Ghuma‘ are facing the problem from Multiplex owners now. The film which was all set for release on 29th September 2017 is not finding response from Multiplex owners. Incidentally, two more Marathi films, namely ‘Zindagi Viraat ‘ and ‘Baapjanma‘ are also releasing on the same day. But, they have not disclosed the theatres yet, in the advertisement displayed in newspapers today.
Film ‘Ghuma‘ is based on important social issue faced by Marathi schools in rural areas, where English medium schools are making inroads. As a result, the attendance in these Marathi schools is coming down and some of the schools are on the verge of closure. But, this film directed by Mahesh Kale is not getting response from Multiplexes to release their film on 29th September 2017. Therefore the producers of this film Madan Aadhav, Adinath Dhangude, Sarang Baraskar & Santosh Ingale knocked the doors of Matoshree yesterday, to inform Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray about the injustice faced by their film from Multiplex owners.
After hearing their plight, Mr. Thackeray has assured them justice. This clearly indicates that Shiv Sena will take up this issue faced by Marathi films and adamant attitude by Multiplex owners, who are supposed to give priority to Marathi films. present on the occasion were other Shiv Sena leaders Minister Ramdas Kadam, MP Anil Desai, MLA’s from Parner & Ahmednagar Vijayrao Auti & Anilbhaiya Rathod. ‘Sarvanaam’ is only Marathi film to be screened at ‘India Story Section’ of MAMI Film Fest
The 19th Mumbai Academy of Moving Images’( MAMI) Film festival will be held in Mumbai at different places from 12th to 18th October 2017 and the 11 films in the ‘India Story Section‘ have been selected for screening. The only Marathi film to find its entry among these 11 films is ‘Sarvanaam‘ directed by Girish Mohite. The director is extremely happy about this news and has reacted stating that his film which speaks about truth, will be appreciated by the film lovers.
Made under the banner of Pre to Post Entertainment and presented by Aadirohan Entertainment , this film stars Mangesh Desai, Deepti Dhotre, Umesh Bolke and Master Rajvardhan Rahul Desai in lead roles. Story of ‘Sarvanaam‘ film is by Bashir Mujawar and the screenplay is written by Girish Mohite along with Ashutosh Apte. Cinematography is by Krishna Soren while editing is done by Nilesh Gawand. Music of this film is composed by Avinash Vishwajeet.
