“My role in ‘Dhyanimani’ is the best role in my acting career” – Ashwini Bhave

Popular Marathi & Bollywood actress of 90’s Ashwini Bhave migrated to USA after her marriage. But, her bonding with Marathi films is still strong. Ashwini Bhave made a comeback with her own production ‘Kadachit‘ in 2007 and later played Judge for a reality show and also performed in film ‘Aajcha Diwas Majha‘, finding some time during her vacation in India. Now, Ashwini is playing the most important character in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dhyanimani‘, which is based on Prashant Dalvi’s play with the same name.
Mahesh Manjrekar’s The Great Maratha Entertainment and co producers Smita Thackeray, Amolalkh Singh, Iqbalsingh Gakhal and Rajesh Banga are producing this film, which is directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni. On Friday evening the makers of this film had hosted a party to release the first look of this film. In the beginning a promotional video was shown in which Salman Khan, Sunil Barve and Priya Bapat appealed to the audience not to watch this film, if they were looking for entertainment in the form of item number and comedy but welcomed all those film lovers, who were interested in watching a sensible film with a good subject.
Later, speaking about this unusual campaign, actor –film maker Mahesh Manjrekar stated that they didn’t want to keep the audience in the dark and hence thought of making this type of appeal, so that only those interested in such sensible subjects, would watch this film. The film is all set to release on 10th February 2017 all over Maharashtra, besides being simultaneously released in Digital format all over the world, through Pratik Shelar’s company. It will be the first Marathi film, to release in this format.
Speaking on this occasion Ashwini Bhave for all praise for Mahesh Manjrekar and Chandrakant Kulkarni. “I am glad that they found me suitable for this role, which is the best role in my acting career so far,” she said. “I trust Chandu, who is also my good friend. He has terrific sense while presenting the relationship on screen. I could learn new things, through this role, which is worth mentioning. I am confident that the Marathi film lovers would appreciate this film,” she added. Others who spoke on the occasion were Abhijit Khandkekar, Chandu Kulkarni, co producer Smita Thackeray and producer Medha Manjrekar.
Besides Ashwini Bhave and Mahesh Manjrekar, the film also stars Abhijit Khandkekar & Mrunmayee Deshpande in equally important roles. Ajit Parab has composed music of this film, besides singing one meaningful song. The film has already created a buzz on social networking sites. And now, the actual promotion of ‘Dhyanimani‘ film is likely to start from this week.
Fakta Marathi Channel to present ‘KIFF’

The Third Kalyan International Film Festival concluded recently, with a good response. This year, some good films like ‘Katyar Kaljaat Ghusali‘,’Half Ticket‘, ‘Kaali‘,’Chaat‘, and ‘Athaang‘ bagged maximum nominations. The festival began after paying homage to late Sulbha Deshpande and Ashwini Ekbote. The festival felicitated veteran actor Jayant Savarkar with Lifetime achievement award.
The added attraction during the festival were the entertaining dance performances by Bhargavi Chirmule, Siya Patil, Manisha Kelkar, Smita Tambe, Ashish Patil & Nakul Ghanekar, besides singing performances by Dnyaneshwar Meshram and Amruta Natu. Some skits presented by Prasad Khandekar, Suhas Paranjape, Prabhakar More, Aarti Solanki, Vijay Kadam, Madhavi Juvekar and others also received good response from the audience.
The entire programme held on the occasion of KIFF will be telecast on Fakta Marathi TV channel on Sunday 29th November 2017, at 12:00 noon with repeat telecast at 6:00 pm on the same day.
Nishikant Kamat returns to acting in Marathi as a villain

Well Known actor and film director Nishikant Kamat had made his acting debut through Smita Talwalkar’s film ‘Saat Chya Aat Gharat‘ way back in 2004. Thereafter, he switched over to direction, directing some hit Bollywood films and also award winning Marathi film like ‘Dombivali Fast‘ and super hit Marathi film like ‘Lai Bhari‘. Recently, we also saw him playing a negative role in Bollywood film ‘Madaari‘. But now, Nishikant Kamat is making a comeback in Marathi as an actor, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Fugay‘.
In ‘Fugay‘ Nishikant Kamat plays a villain Bhairappa, who will also make the audience laugh. The film stars Subodh Bhave, Swwapnil Joshi and Prarthana Behere in the lead . In this film Nishikant Kamat has good scope, as he utters typical dialogues in Goan accent. For his fans, this will be his memorable role, according to makers of this film.
Abbas Mastan team working for Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar’

We are all aware that popular Bollywood fashion designer Vikram Phadnis recently launched his Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar‘ with Mukta Barve and Subodh Bhave in the lead roles. The muhurat clap of this film was given by Shahrukh Khan, when Abbas & Mastan were also present to bless Vikram Phadnis. Now, we understand that the entire technical crew of famous Bollywood filmmakers Abbas – Mastan are working on this project. It is for the first time that the entire technical crew of a Bollywood film is working on a Marathi film.
It may be recalled that Vikram Phadnis had worked with Abbas – Mastan for their 10 film projects. Now, it is the time for the film maker duo to oblige their friend Vikram Phadnis and that’s how we find their team working for him. Right from the DOP their assistants and many other technicians are involved with this film’s project. So, obviously we expect more and more Bollywood personalities to come forward to promote ‘Hrudayantar’ film, before its release.
Siddharth Jadhav rocks with 100 shows of ‘Gela Udat’

Kedar Shinde as a director has offered many talented artistes on Marathi stage, through his various plays performed in the past. This time, his production Thirdbell Productions joined hands with Prasad Kambli’s Bhadrakali productions to produce a play ‘Gela Udat‘, with popular Marathi actor Siddharth Jadhav in the lead role. This was Bhadrakali’s 53rd position and it has received very good response from Marathi audience.
‘Gela Udat‘ play hosted its 100th show on 15th January 2017 at Shivaji Mandir Dadar and the audience and special guests appreciated the lead character of Maruti played by energetic Siddharth Jadhav , who was overwhelmed with their full house response. The play also stars Archana Nipankar, Surbhi Phadnis, Ghanashyam Ghorpade, Amir Tadwalkar, Kiran Newalkar, Gaurav More, Sachin Gawde Sumit sawant, Ganesh Jadhav, and others. Production design by Pradeep Mulye, light effect by Shital Talpade and music by Sai Piyush are the other credits of ‘Gela Udat’ play.
Adarsh Shinde records Dhamaal song for new Marathi film ‘Oadh’

Known for his dhamaal songs, Adarsh Shinde has already made presence felt among music lovers of Marathi films. Coming from a prominent family of musicians, Adarsh Shinde is carrying forward his family legacy with his rising popularity. Recently, he recorded a dhamaal youth song with the wordings ‘Angaat nakhara Dolyat masti…’ for the film ‘Oadh- The Attraction‘ which has variety of music offered by Pravin Kunwar on the lyrics of Kautuk Shirodkar. The song will be picturised in this film during an important scene of a college gathering.
‘Oadh’ film is directed by Dinesh Thakur, for Sonali Entertainment House. G.S. Films Academy Productions will present this film for producer R.S. Towar. After rendering this song Adarsh Shinde thanked the producer, director and music director of this film, for offering him this wonderful song.
New Marathi film makers keen on making films on realistic subjects

Director duo Dayasagar Wankhede and Hemant Dhabde believe in offering films on realistic subjects in Marathi. After launching a film ‘Copy‘ on the backdrop of reality in education system, now they have launched another film ‘Bharat Aamchahi Desh Aahe‘ which is based on neglected people in the society, who have their say, ‘Let us also live .. ‘ with a suitable title of the film, which means, India is also our country.. So, their attention is focussed on films with realistic subjects.
Their new film ‘Bharat Aamchahi Desh Aahe‘ is being made under the banner of Ovi Films. Recently, muhurat of this new film took place with the recording of a song written by Rahul Siddharth Salve and rendered by Rohan Pradhan, on the music of Rohan-Rohan. Present on the occasion were director-actor Vijay Patkar and other artistes and technicians of the film. The lead artistes of this film are Milind Shinde, Kailash Waghmare, Jagannath Nivangune & Shivaji Patne. Camera by Santineo Trezio and art direction by Sandeep Kunchikarve.
Marathi film actress Reena Aggarwal makes it big in Bollywood

There are few actresses in Marathi, who after joining Marathi films, have later found better roles in Marathi. Ashwini Bhave, Varsha Usgaonkar are two prominent names among them. Now, one more Marathi film actress is making her headway into Bollywood. She is Reena Aggarwal. Don’t be surprised with her surname. Reena Aggarwal made her debut through Chandrakant Desai’s Marathi film ‘Ajintha‘ few years ago and just few days ago we saw her in recently released Marathi film ‘Zhalla Bobhata‘ .
But, the good news about Reena Aggarwal is that she will soon be seen in forthcoming big budget Bollywood film ‘Behen Hogi Teri‘, which also stars Shruti Hasan, Rajkumar Rao and Gautam Gulati. It is understood that Reena Aggarwal has a prominent role in this film and has just returned from Lucknow, where she was shooting for this film. This is Reena’s second Bollywood film, as we saw her Aamir Khan’s film ‘Talaash‘ , in which she played a Female Police Cop. This was her first Bollywood film. Reena Aggarwal was also seen in Hindi serial ‘Agent Raghav‘. She has also done Marathi stage. All in all, this new year seems to be good for her.
Shreyas Jadhav turns first Marathi Rapper

Marathi films are influenced by our Bollywood films, when it comes to introducing something new in technology or music. And, the best example is the new trend of rap songs. In the past we have seen the influence of rap in some of the Pop songs in Marathi, but now one entire rap song is being introduced in Marathi films. And, this experiment has been tried by producer and singer Shreyas Jadhav .
It may be recalled that Shreyas Jadhav had produced a film ‘Online Binline‘ in the past, but is originally a very good rapper. Therefore, in this film he had used the style of rap music in the song ‘Oh Ho Kaay Jhala..’ rendered by Hariharan and Leslie Luis, which is still fresh in the memory of music lovers. Now, his new song ‘Pune Rap‘ which talks about Pune city and in particular the historical Shanivarvada , is being presented by Everest Entertainment and Ganraj Productions and has music by Hrishikesh, Saurabh and Jasraj.
Incidentally, as a producer Shreyas Jadhav is also releasing his two films ‘Baghtos Kay Mujra Kar‘ and ‘Bus Stop‘ very soon.
Monalisa Bagal & Deepali Ambikar – new faces in Marathi film industry

Every year, many new faces are noticed in Marathi cinema . In the recent past, we have seen new actresses making their successful debut through Marathi film industry. They were Tanvi Hegde, Kajal Sharma, Sayali Sanjeev, Parna Pethe, Rinku Rajguru and few others. Now, this new year few more have already made their acting debut . Arya Ambekar, whom we know as a singer, has made her entry as an actress through new Marathi film ‘Ti Saddhya Kay Karte‘ .
Marathimovieworld met two more promising actresses, who have prominent roles in recently released Marathi film ‘Zhalla Bobhata‘. They are, Monalisa Bagal and Deepali Ambikar. Though this film is male dominated film, both of them have found good roles to get noticed by critics. Monalisa Bagal, who is from Pune, is a good dancer and has already been crowned as Miss. Raigad. In this film, Monalisa Bagal plays lead role opposite another youngster Mayuresh Pem, while Mumbai based Deepali Ambikar plays wife of Kamalesh Sawant, another lead character of a Sarpanch in ‘Zhalla Bobhata‘ film.
