There is a big demand for Rap songs in India. Till now, many rap singers have attained popularity, with their songs in Hindi. Now, this craze has also spread among Marathi music lovers. Experiments are done in Marathi too, to introduce rap songs. In the past, we saw rap being used in some Pop songs. But now, we find a complete rap song in video ‘Itemgiri‘ rendered by Danny Singh, which is a rap with Marathi and Hindi fusion.
Produced by S.K.Visions and directed by Indraneil Nukde, the music has been provided by Ashish Kishor. To make this song more appealing, assistant directors Aishwarya Jain and Snehal Ubhe have put in extra efforts. The song has been receiving good response on social networking sites and is expected to reach popularity heights soon.
‘Raja Shivchhatrapati’ to return on Star Pravah
Marathi serials made on the subject of history have always received good response. And, if it is based on Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, it has to be memorable one. Keeping this in mind, Star Pravah have decided to present their hit serial ‘Raja Shivchhatrapati‘ with repeat telecast from 6th February 2017 at prime time 9.30 pm onwards, on demand received from home viewers.
This serial has been a great creation by well Known art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai, who had himself produced it, with direction by Hemant Deodhar. The title song composed by well Known music director duo Ajay- Atul is still fresh in the memory of home viewers. And, above all the title role of Shivaji Maharaj played by Dr. Amol Kolhe, has also been well appreciated by all. Even the important characters of Jijau, Shahaji and Aurangzeb played by Mrunal Kulkarni, Avinash Narkar and Yatin Karyekar had left a strong impact on small screen viewers.
Abhijit Khandkekar will present contrast characters through his next films
Having established himself as a popular television actor, Abhijit Khandkekar is making his headway into Marathi films. Abhijit made his presence felt through his debut Marathi film ‘Jai Maharashtra Dhaba Bhatinda‘ in lead role. But, his next two films ‘Mamachya Gavala Jaoo Ya‘ and ‘Dhol Tashe‘ didn’t receive much success, in spite of his good performance. Abhijit who is presently playing lead role in ongoing Marathi serial ‘Majhya Navryachi Baiko‘, has three films due for release.
Out of these three films, two of them namely, ‘Dhyanimani‘ and ‘Bhay‘ present him in contrast characters. In ‘Dhyanimani‘, he plays a Psychologist, while in ‘Bhay‘ he plays a Schizophrenic. Recently, when we met him at the first look of ‘Dhyanimani‘, Abhijit Khandkekar seemed to be in a happy mood, as he shared the dais with all stalwarts like Mahesh Manjrekar, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Simita Thackeray and Medha Manjrekar. He thanked Mahesh Manjrekar and Chandrakant Kulkarni for choosing him to be part of their film and openly praised both, whom he treated on par with his father, as far as the learning process was concerned. “Working with Chandu Sir and Maheshji was like attending an acting workshop,” he said.
‘Gaon Thor Pudhari Chor’ to expose dirty game power politics
Power Politics has always been favourite subject of Marathi film makers. But, every filmmaker has different ideas in presenting his subject. Producer Mangesh Doiphode and director Pitambar Kale have tried to present the meaning of strong word ‘Political‘ in a humorous way. Their film is all set to release on 17th February 2017 and stars versatile artistes like Digambar Naik, Prema Kiran, Chetan Dalvi, Kishore Nandlaskar along with Siya Patil.
The film’s screenplay does not spare the ruling party as well as opposition party, presenting their gimmicks to remain in limelight, while pulling each other’s legs. The election fever is now on for the forthcoming Municipal elections. But, are our today’s politicians really working for the welfare of the people ? It’s time for someone to rise from amongst people, to protect the interest of the society. We have not seen much about the clean image of such leaders in our films. But, forthcoming Marathi film ‘Nagarsevak Ek Nayak‘ is going to present one such leader.
Produced by Shashikant and Jayashree Choudhary and directed by Deepak Kadam , the music CD of ‘Nagarsevak Ek Nayak‘ film was released recently in Mumbai at the hands of famous music director Dilip Sen and in presence of Vijay Patkar, Sushant Shelar, Hemlata Bane, Vinod Kumar Barai, Chandrashekhar Sandve and crew of the film. Apart from music launch, the digital poster of the film was also launched on this occasion. Story of ‘Nagarsevak Ek Nayak‘ film is penned by Bipin Dhaygude and music is by Dev Ashish.
The film stars Upendra Limaye, Neha Pendse, Sayaji Shinde, Ganesh Yadav, Vinay Apte, Satish Tare, Sunil Tawde, Sanjay Khapre, Savita Malpekar, Mayuri Deshmukh and others.
Poster of ‘Manus Ek Mati’ launched
Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Manus Ek Mati’ is set on the backdrop of today’s busy lifestyle which makes people forget their relationship with others. Recently, the poster of this film was launched in Mumbai. In this film Siddharth Jadhav will be seen in a new look. The film is produced by Sharda Vijaykumar Kharat under the banner of Shivam Entertainment , with direction by Suresh Zade.
‘Manus Ek Mati’ is a family film with Siddharth Jadhav and Ganesh Yadav in the lead along with Swapnil Rajshekhar, Ruchita Jadhav, Harsha Gupte & Varad Chavan. The film will be promoted by Shivam Saheli Parivar, a women’s organisation, which will begin the campaign on the occasion of Women’s day scheduled on 8th March 2017. The will be released on 24th March 2017.
“My role in ‘Dhyanimani’ is the best role in my acting career” – Ashwini Bhave
Popular Marathi & Bollywood actress of 90’s Ashwini Bhave migrated to USA after her marriage. But, her bonding with Marathi films is still strong. Ashwini Bhave made a comeback with her own production ‘Kadachit‘ in 2007 and later played Judge for a reality show and also performed in film ‘Aajcha Diwas Majha‘, finding some time during her vacation in India. Now, Ashwini is playing the most important character in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dhyanimani‘, which is based on Prashant Dalvi’s play with the same name.
Mahesh Manjrekar’s The Great Maratha Entertainment and co producers Smita Thackeray, Amolalkh Singh, Iqbalsingh Gakhal and Rajesh Banga are producing this film, which is directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni. On Friday evening the makers of this film had hosted a party to release the first look of this film. In the beginning a promotional video was shown in which Salman Khan, Sunil Barve and Priya Bapat appealed to the audience not to watch this film, if they were looking for entertainment in the form of item number and comedy but welcomed all those film lovers, who were interested in watching a sensible film with a good subject.
Later, speaking about this unusual campaign, actor –film maker Mahesh Manjrekar stated that they didn’t want to keep the audience in the dark and hence thought of making this type of appeal, so that only those interested in such sensible subjects, would watch this film. The film is all set to release on 10th February 2017 all over Maharashtra, besides being simultaneously released in Digital format all over the world, through Pratik Shelar’s company. It will be the first Marathi film, to release in this format.
Speaking on this occasion Ashwini Bhave for all praise for Mahesh Manjrekar and Chandrakant Kulkarni. “I am glad that they found me suitable for this role, which is the best role in my acting career so far,” she said. “I trust Chandu, who is also my good friend. He has terrific sense while presenting the relationship on screen. I could learn new things, through this role, which is worth mentioning. I am confident that the Marathi film lovers would appreciate this film,” she added. Others who spoke on the occasion were Abhijit Khandkekar, Chandu Kulkarni, co producer Smita Thackeray and producer Medha Manjrekar.
Besides Ashwini Bhave and Mahesh Manjrekar, the film also stars Abhijit Khandkekar & Mrunmayee Deshpande in equally important roles. Ajit Parab has composed music of this film, besides singing one meaningful song. The film has already created a buzz on social networking sites. And now, the actual promotion of ‘Dhyanimani‘ film is likely to start from this week.
Fakta Marathi Channel to present ‘KIFF’
The Third Kalyan International Film Festival concluded recently, with a good response. This year, some good films like ‘Katyar Kaljaat Ghusali‘,’Half Ticket‘, ‘Kaali‘,’Chaat‘, and ‘Athaang‘ bagged maximum nominations. The festival began after paying homage to late Sulbha Deshpande and Ashwini Ekbote. The festival felicitated veteran actor Jayant Savarkar with Lifetime achievement award.
The added attraction during the festival were the entertaining dance performances by Bhargavi Chirmule, Siya Patil, Manisha Kelkar, Smita Tambe, Ashish Patil & Nakul Ghanekar, besides singing performances by Dnyaneshwar Meshram and Amruta Natu. Some skits presented by Prasad Khandekar, Suhas Paranjape, Prabhakar More, Aarti Solanki, Vijay Kadam, Madhavi Juvekar and others also received good response from the audience.
The entire programme held on the occasion of KIFF will be telecast on Fakta Marathi TV channel on Sunday 29th November 2017, at 12:00 noon with repeat telecast at 6:00 pm on the same day.
Nishikant Kamat returns to acting in Marathi as a villain
Well Known actor and film director Nishikant Kamat had made his acting debut through Smita Talwalkar’s film ‘Saat Chya Aat Gharat‘ way back in 2004. Thereafter, he switched over to direction, directing some hit Bollywood films and also award winning Marathi film like ‘Dombivali Fast‘ and super hit Marathi film like ‘Lai Bhari‘. Recently, we also saw him playing a negative role in Bollywood film ‘Madaari‘. But now, Nishikant Kamat is making a comeback in Marathi as an actor, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Fugay‘.
In ‘Fugay‘ Nishikant Kamat plays a villain Bhairappa, who will also make the audience laugh. The film stars Subodh Bhave, Swwapnil Joshi and Prarthana Behere in the lead . In this film Nishikant Kamat has good scope, as he utters typical dialogues in Goan accent. For his fans, this will be his memorable role, according to makers of this film.
Abbas Mastan team working for Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar’
We are all aware that popular Bollywood fashion designer Vikram Phadnis recently launched his Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar‘ with Mukta Barve and Subodh Bhave in the lead roles. The muhurat clap of this film was given by Shahrukh Khan, when Abbas & Mastan were also present to bless Vikram Phadnis. Now, we understand that the entire technical crew of famous Bollywood filmmakers Abbas – Mastan are working on this project. It is for the first time that the entire technical crew of a Bollywood film is working on a Marathi film.
It may be recalled that Vikram Phadnis had worked with Abbas – Mastan for their 10 film projects. Now, it is the time for the film maker duo to oblige their friend Vikram Phadnis and that’s how we find their team working for him. Right from the DOP their assistants and many other technicians are involved with this film’s project. So, obviously we expect more and more Bollywood personalities to come forward to promote ‘Hrudayantar’ film, before its release.
