Ankush Choudhari and Satish Rajwade together once again through ‘Autograph’

Seven years ago, Ankush Choudhari had worked in Director Satish Rajwade‘s film ‘Gaiir’ , which had become a hit at Box office. Now, both of them have worked together once again through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Autograph’. Therefore, there are big expectations from this film. Now, the film is all set to release on 12th August 2016 all over Maharashtra.

It may be recalled that during the year 2015, Ankush Choudhari‘s three films ‘Double Seat’, ‘Dagadi Chawl’  & ‘Classmates’ turned hit films . And, Satish Rajwade has also given one hit film ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2′ in the recent past.  Their new film ‘Autograph’  presented by STV network and produced by Inderaj Kapoor , also has other well known artistes in prominent roles.

Speaking about his experience of working with Ankush Choudhari, Mr. Satish Rajwade has called him a Superstar and expressed his satisfaction of working with him. About the film, he said that it was a love story, with a difference, subject of which appealed him the most.

Prathamesh Parab makes his debut in Hindi play ‘Laut Aao Gauri’

After establishing himself in Marathi and Hindi films, Marathi actor Prathamesh Parab makes his debut in Hindi play, through ‘Laut Aao Gauri‘. Recently, the inaugural show of this play was performed at Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium, Borivali, which received overwhelming response. M.L.Dahanukar College, which has presented this play, will now be performing 4 shows this month at different venues in Mumbai, like NCPA (14th June), Sathe College (17th June), Savarkar Smarak (18th June) and Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium( 25thJune).It may be recalled that before making his debut in films, through ‘Time pass‘, Prathamesh was associated with the Marathi theatre, performing at inter collegiate competitions through his college.

The story of this play revolves around a middle class farmer Jiyalal Srivastav , who happily lives in a village along with his wife Lajo and six year old daughter Gauri. One day, Gauri goes missing and to lodge her missing complaint to the Police station, where the Police are already busy searching for another Gauri, who is the daughter of a local MLA Durgvijay Singh. The play has already won various awards at local competitions and is now being presented as a commercial play. The play stars Prathamesh Parab along with Vibhav Rajadhyaksha, Vedangi Kulkarni, Subrato Prabhakar Singh, Siddhesh Pujare & Tejaswini Kasare in lead roles. Parag Oza, who has written this play has also directed it, along with Krunal & Sushil.

Parth Bhalerao stands tall with a lead role

Two years ago, with his debut in Bollywood film ‘Bhoothnath Returns‘ child star Parth Bhalerao came into limelight. He even bagged a special mention at the 62nd National Awards for his portrayal of a smart kid in this film. Later, we also saw his superb performance in the film ‘Killa‘, which was screened at Cannes Film festival. Recently, we even sawhis notable performance in the film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani‘. But now, Parth Bhalerao is playing the lead title role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Disco Sannya‘. And, that really makes him stand tall, as the film is all set to release on 17th June 2016.

Produced by Sachin Purohit and Abhijit Kawathalkar, Niyaz Mujawar directed Marathi film is a so called thrilling drama spiced with comedy, which revolves around an orphaned street-kid, essayed by Parth Bhalerao, and his unusual relationship and tryst with a rich businessman Shreyas Kale, essayed by Sanjay Khapre, who in the film is an egoist, self-obsessed, self-made man.

This Film’s story is written by Sachin Purohit, Niyaz Mujawar and Abhijit Kawathalkar, with the music by Sachin Purohit and Abhijit Kawathalkar. Singers Avdhoot Gupte, Reeshabh Purohit, Nandesh Umap, Adarsh Shinde and Shabaab Shabri have rendered their voices for the songs in this film.

‘Halal’ receives overwhelming response at Goa Film Festival

Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Halal, which was screened at various film festivals, including Cannes Film festival, was recently screened at prestigious Goa Marathi film festival, receiving overwhelming response. There were about 20 films screened during this film festival, including one Konkani film. ‘Halal is the story of human emotions, which depicts the trials and tribulations that women in our society have gone through. The film portrays family system of Indian Muslims, which is an unusual topic for Marathi films.

Presented by Amol Kagne Films and directed by national award winning director Shivaji Loten Patil, the film stars Chinmay Mandlekar, Pritam Kagne, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Vijay Chavan, Chhaya Kadam, Amol Kagne, Vimal Mhatre, Sanjay Sugaonkar. The script of ‘Halal is written by Nishant Dhapse. Cinematography by Ramaniranjandas, editing by Nilesh Gawand and music by Vijay Gatlewar are other credits. The film is due for release soon, all over Maharashtra.

After 28 years Neelakanti Patekar returns to big screen

28 years ago, Neelakanti Patekar was seen in a lifetime role, in Sachin Pilgaonkar’s film ‘Aatmavishvaas‘. At that time, she had received instant appreciation from critics, for her memorable role. But, for the past 28 years, we had not seen Neelakanti Patekar in any films, except for the news that she was being considered for the role of Nana Patekar‘s screen wife in the film ‘Natsamrat‘. But, that did not happen, as the role went to Medha Manjrekar.

Now, we hear that Neelakanti, will be making a comeback on big screen, through Producer-director Neelima Lonari‘s forthcoming Marathi film ‘ Bernie‘ , which is all set to release on 17th June 2016. In this film she is playing the most important role of Clara, mother of Bernie, which is played by beautiful Tejaswini Lonari. Speaking about her role in this film, Neelakanti Patekar said, “Long ago I had read this novel ‘Jogin’ written by Subhash Bhende. Since this film is inspired by this novel, I immediately agreed to play this role.” Apart from Neelakanti Patekar and Tejaswini Lonari, the film also stars versatile artistes like Rajan Tamhane, Bhushan Patil, Girish Pardeshi, Savita Malpekar, Sumukhi Pendse, Mausami Tondvalkar, Radhika Deshpande and others. Music by Amitraj & camera by Sameer Athalye are other credits.

Neha Rajpal’s ‘Photo Copy’ to release on 16th September

We are all aware that Popular Singer Neha Rajpal had turned Marathi film producer, when she had announced her first home production ‘Photo Copy‘, two years ago. Now, her film has completed shooting and now Viacom18 Motion Pictures have decided to release her much awaited film on 16th September 2016.

Photo Copy’ is a fun filled college love story, which promises to offer fresh teenage story with good music. The film is directed by National Award Winner – Vijay Maurya and stars veteran actress Vandana Gupte, debutant Chetan Chitnis and Parna Pethe in the lead.

Speaking about her film, Producer Neha Rajpal says , “I am extremely delighted that my very first Marathi film production is being presented by ‘Viacom18′ – an international studio which has a repute to produce some very creative and out of the box films. I am hopeful that together we can bring a new element and vibe in Marathi films, through ‘Photo Copy’. This is the beginning of a long term creative collaboration of Neha Rajpal Productions & Viacom18 Motion Pictures, I am looking forward to many other such endeavours in the future”.

Director Samit Kakkad, who gave us Marathi film Aayna Ka Bayna is back. This time, he has directed another Marathi film ‘Half Ticket’, which revolves around the dreams of two children. The film is now ready for release on 15th July 2016. Shubham More and Vinayak Potdar are playing these two important characters in this film. And, with them, in supporting roles will be Bhau Kadam, Usha Naik, Shashank Shende, Jaywant wadkar, Priyanka Bose, Kailash Waghmare. The film is produced by Video Palace.

Recently, the teaser of this film along with a song video was released in presence of invitees and entire team of the film. Cinematography by Sanjay Memane, art direction by Vasu Patil, sound designing by Anmol Bhave and music by by G.V.Prakash are the other credits of this film. Based on the story of M.Manikdan, the script of the film is written by Dnyanesh Zoting.

Veteran actress Sulbha Deshpande passes away

Veteran Marathi & Hindi film, TV and stage actress Sulbha Deshpande is no more. She passed away today, after being ill for sometime. She was 80. Four months ago MarathiMovieworld met Sulbhatai during the shooting of her Marathi film Braveheart , when she was shooting a serious scene with a child star. This was the last film, we saw her performing. Incidentally, she was also part of a popular TV serial Asmita, but had not seen her on small screen, perhaps due to her illness. Sulbha Deshpande, besides performing in Marathi films, had also acted in over 73 movies mainstream Bollywood as well as art house cinema, like ‘Bhumika‘ (1977), ‘Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan‘ (1978) and ‘Gaman‘ (1978) as a character actor, apart from numerous TV series and plays. A leading figure in experimental theatre movement of the 1960s, she was associated with Rangayan, and great personalities like Vijay Tendulkar, Vijaya Mehta, and Satyadev Dubey. In 1971 she co-founded, theatre group, Awishkar with her husband Arvind Deshpande, and also started its children’s wing, Chandrashala, which continues to perform professional children theatre

She was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1987. She also received the award, Tanveer Sanman in 2010. She has also been honoured by various other awards like Nanasaheb Phatak Puraskar, Ganpatrao Joshi Puraskar, Vasantrao Kanetkar Puraskar, Kusumagraj Puraskar, Rangabhoomi Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar and Sarvashrestha Kalagaurav Puraskar by Sanskruti Kaladarpan.

With new producers entering Marathi film industry, now Vishal Dhanavade has produced a family social film ‘Damlelya Babachi Kahani‘, which is all set to release on 24th June 2016. The film offers lyricist turned actor Sandeep Khare in a lifetime role. The film has been inspired from his own song, with the same name. Recently, poster and promo of this film was launched in Pune, with the Maha Aarti at the Sharda Ganapati of Akhil Mandai Mandal. On this occasion, many prominent people from Pune were present, including Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal President Meghraj Rajebhosale, directors Nitin Chavan & Yogesh Jadhav.

Sandeep Khare who is playing the lead role in ‘Damlelya Babachi Kahani‘ film, was also present along with other artistes of the film Deepti Bhagwat and child star Shreya Pasalkar. The film also stars Kishor Kadam, Sanskruti Balgude, Jyoti Chandekar, Astad Kale, Kishor Chaughule, Bhagyashree Desai, Mukta Karandikar & Milind Shintre. The film has already invited the attention of film festival organisers. No wonder, this film will be screened at Nashik and Goa international film festivals. On 24th June 2016, it will be released all over Maharashtra.
