‘Ekk Albela’ getting ready to release on 24th June 2016

We are all aware that ‘Ekk Albela’ is a biopic on popular actor of 50s Bhagwan dada alias Bhagwan Abaji Palav , whose film ‘Ek Albela’ became a super hit film. The songs from this film, are still on the lips of Hindi film music lovers. Now, it remains to be seen how actor Mangesh Desai, who has portrayed the role of Bhagwan dada, succeeds in capturing the attention of Marathi film lovers.
When the film’s promotion begins, every filmmaker has different ideas and it all depends, how it is done. Mangalmurti films, which had presented hit Marathi film ;’Dagadi Chawl‘ after some Bollywood films, recently launched the titles of this film in a unique way. This film presented by Manglmurti films, is directed by Shekhar Sartandel and produced by Kimaya motion pictures. Highlight of this film is that popular Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is making her debut in Marathi films, through this film, playing the role of Geeta Bali. The film also has young charming Marathi film actress Vaibhavi Shandilya in an important role.
When Amruta Khanvilkar met Sonalee at Spain…

We have heard the stories of artistes in Bollywood meeting at foreign locations, even if they are not shooting for the same film. But, in Marathi film industry this happened perhaps for the first time. It so happened that Amruta Khanvilkar was shooting for her forthcoming Marathi film ‘One Way Ticket‘, which was being shot on a cruise at foreign locations like Italy, France and Spain. When the cruise reached Spain, Amruta was shooting a Barcelona. When the shooting was going on, she found a surprise visitor in the form of beautiful Sonalee Kulkarni Actually, Sonalee was on a personal visit there and when she heard about Amruta shooting there, she could not resist the temptation of meeting her and giving her a surprise.
When Sonalee joined Amruta and the team of ‘One way Ticket’, all of them had great time together having lots of fun. This is the first Marathi film shot on a cruise and that too in Europe. The film is produced by Makebrand’s Komal Unavane ,co produced by Krishnanu Moty and Suresh Pai and directed by Amol Shetge. Besides Amruta Khanvilkar in the lead, the film also stars Sachit Patil, Gashmeer Mahajani, Shashank Ketkar & Neha Mahajan in lead roles. The film is scheduled for release on 10th June 2016.
New Film ‘106 Hutatma Chowk’ announced

The formation of Maharashtra state has completed 46 years. On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, three days ago, a new historical Marathi film with the title ‘106 Hutatma Chawk – Samyukta Maharashtra Jhalach Pahije’ was launched .Vishal Inamdar will be directing this film, shooting of which begins soon. Popular Bollywood actor Jeetendra , who was the special guest on this occasion, made official announcement about launch of this film.
According to the makers, this film will be rich in all respects, be it story, screenplay music, costumes and direction. Big names will form star cast of this film. The story of this film is written by Kaustubh Savarkar and the film is being made under the banner of Shree Swami Samarth Pictures.The film will be ready for release by May 2017.
Fox Star Studios to distribute Marathi film ‘Half Ticket’

Marathi films have gone worldwide, because of their strong content and quality presentation style. No wonder, the industry is also getting noticed by international studios.Now, the big news is that Fox Star Studios India is making its debut in the Marathi Film industry.
Fox Star Studios, India are all set to distribute forthcoming Marathi film ‘Half Ticket‘, which is directed by Samit Kakkad and produced by Nanubhai Jaisinghani. The third poster of of this film was released recently, which depicts the iconic Mumbai double decker buses.
Produced by Video Palace, the film presents the story of two children living in the slums of Mumbai. ‘Half Ticket‘ film has been shot on the streets of Mumbai to show the realistic lifestyle of such people.
‘Half Ticket‘ is scheduled for release in July 2016.
‘Lalbaugchi Rani’ promises a new way to live life

Well Known Cinematographer of Hindi films, Laxman Utekar, who made his debut in direction through Marathi film ‘Tapal’, is now all set to release his next Marathi film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani’ soon. Actress Veena Jamkar who played lead role in ‘Tapal’, is playing the central character in the film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani’. The film, promises a new way to live life. Recently trailer of this film was launched in Mumbai, giving an idea that Veena plays a totally different role of a girl, who is a Special child, who gets separated from her family.
Besides directing this film, Mr. Laxman Utekar is also co producing this film. Through this film, he has presented some real happenings, which he has noticed in his day to day life. Rohan Ghuge has written the script of this film, with music composed by Rohit Nagbhide. The film is presented by Sunil Manchanda, while it is presented by Bollywood’s Boney Kapoor. Besides Veena Jamkar, who plays the title role, the film stars Ashok Shinde, Prathamesh Parab, Parth Bhalerao, Neha Joshi Nandita Dhuri, Reshma Chougule , Subrat Dutta, Jaywant Wadkar, Pratima Joshi, Suyash Joshi & Jagannath Nivangune in lead roles. ‘Truckbhar Swapna’ will be Nitin Desai’s new Marathi film

As a renowned Art director, he has earned name and fame in Hindi film industry. But, Nitin Chandrakant Desai hasn’t forgotten his contribution to Marathi cinema. He has not only performed in few Marathi films, but his ability to produce and direct few Marathi films & serials , is known to all. He pays more attention on locations suited to the story, artiste selection besides art direction, to present a quality production, be it a TV serial or a film.
Recently, Nitin Chandrakant Desai launched his new Marathi film ‘Truckbhar Swapna‘ at ND Studios, Karjat, in presence of his mother and Filmmaker Kanchan Adhikari, who were invited as special guests, on this occasion. The film stars Makarand Deshpande in the lead role, in the company of Kranti Redkar, Aditi Pohankar, Mukesh Rishi, Yatin Karyekar, Smita Tambe and Suresh Bhagwat. The film will be directed by Pramod Pawar. The shooting of ‘Truckbhar Swapna‘ has started, after the launch, with Rajiv Jain handling the cinematography.

For preparing herself for the lead character in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Kiran Kulkarni v/s Kiran Kulkarni‘, Kranti was required to perform stunts, besides learning to drive a Truck, swim in the well water and do paragliding. And, Kranti attempted all these stunts successfully. We also understand that she also gave a thrilling scene with a snake.

Ashok Saraf conferred with Kala Gaurav at SKD Awards

The 16th Sankruti Kaladarpan Annual awards for Marathi Films, television and Dramas were presented on Sunday evening, in presence of all prize winners, special invitees and media persons. There were some entertaining skits presented by the team of ‘Comedy Chi Bullet Train‘ a laughter show on TV. Some good dance performances were also presented by Pushkar Jog and Gashmir Mahajani.
Veteran actor Ashok Saraf was conferred with this year’s Kalagaurav Award, while Nana Patekar and sachin Pilgaonkar received special honour awards for their respective performances in films ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali‘ and ‘Natsamrat‘. Though ‘Natsamrat‘ bagged the popular film’s award, ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali‘ bagged maximum awards. While ‘Deool Band‘ bagged best social film award, the award for the most impressive film of the year went to ‘Koti‘. The best actress award went to Medha Manjrekar, while the best actor’s award was shared by Sumeet Raghavan and Ankush Chaudhari.
In the drama section, the play ‘Don’t Worry be Happy’ was declared the best popular play of the year, while Girija Oak and Umesh Kamat were declared the best actress and best actor respectively. In the TV serial section Colors Marathi serial ‘Asa Sasar Surekh Bai‘ won the best serial of the year award, with the lead stars of this serial, Santosh Juvekar and Mrunal Dusanis winning the best actor and best actress awards.
On this occasion the organisers of SKD Chandrashekhar Sandve and Archana Nevrekar, donated Rs. 1 Lakh 61 thousand rupees cheque to NAAM Foundation, which was accepted by Makarand Anaspure.
Swwapnil’s ‘Teen Devian’ launch trailer of his film ‘Laal Ishq’

If at all remake of popular old musical Hindi film ‘Teen Devian‘ was made in Marathi, with Swwapnil Joshi asked to select his three Devian, he would select Sai Tamhankar, Sonalee Kulkarni and Mukta Barve. Incidentally, with each one of them, Swwapnil has given three hit films in Marathi in the recent past. Like true friends, all three of them were seen together, as special guests, to launch the trailer of his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Laal Ishq‘ produced by Popular Hindi film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by Swapna Waghmare Joshi.
All three of them were all praise for Swwapnil Joshi for being such a wonderful co star, besides a good friend. “It’s a big moment for Swapnil, as he is part of this film, which is produced by popular Bollywood film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and I am here to share this happy moment with him,” said Mukta Barve. Both Sai and Sonalee wished him a grand success on this occasion and hoped to attend the success party of this soon. All three of them also greeted Swapnil’s new leading lady in this film Anjana Sukhani.
Also present on this occasion were Sameedha Guru, Sneha Chavan, Piyush Ranade, Jaywant Wadkar, who are also playing important roles in this film. Music directors Nilesh Moharir, Amitraj, DOP Prasad Bhende, co producer Shabinaa Khan were also present on this occasion. From the trailer, it gives an impression that this film is a murder mystery.
After Swwapnil, now Ankush also turns Brand Ambassador

Endorsing a particular brand of product is very common among Bollywood artistes and popular cricketers. Till now, we have seen Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, M.S.Dhoni and Virat Kohli endorsing many popular brands . But now, our Marathi stars have also entered this filed.
Few month ago, we saw Swwapnil Joshi endorsing a fashion brand and turning brand ambassador of that brand. And now, style icon Ankush Chaudhari has also been signed by a brand to endorse its product. Both Swwapnil Joshi and Ankush Chaudhari had worked together, few years ago in super hit Marathi film ‘Duniyadari‘. And after that we have seen their progress in Marathi film industry, through different films they did till date.
Incidentally, both of them have introduced their styles through their respective films. Thanks to their costume designers. No wonder both of them have received Best Style Icon awards, at different award functions. But, their turning brand ambassadors, has also brought recognition to Marathi film industry, for bringing in that required change in costume designing of our artistes.
