Is Ganesh Acharya being used as a dancing actor in Marathi films ?
Only two months ago, when the first look of Marathi film ‘Shinma’ was unveiled, we saw choreographer Ganesh Acharya, not only releasing the music of this film, but we also saw the video clip of the song on him, performing an item number with Gurleen Chopra. Now, when the makers of new Marathi film ‘Bedardi’ unveiled the first look of their film on Monday evening, we once again saw Ganesh Acharya, being used as a dancing artiste, for a Ganapati song in the film.
Actually, using the choreographer in a dance sequence of the song is much easier for the makers of the film, as he is the one, who manages the shoot. So, Ganesh Acharya has set a new trend of being part of such songs. And, if these two songs become hit, then our other heroes will have no other option than just to watch, Ganesh on the screen, performing with their lead actress. Anyway, producer of ‘Bedardi’, Mr. Suresh Bhagat is confident that whatever his director son Sahil has done, is right, to popularize the film’s song, before its release on 30th October 2015.
The young lead pair of the film is played by Omkar Kulkarni & Pooja Narang. Arun Nalawade plays an important role in this film, music of which is composed by Pravin Kunwar.
‘Ka Re Durava’ bags 9 Zee Marathi Awards
In spite of tough competition from artistes and their family members, Marathi serial ‘Ka Re Durava’ bagged 9 Zee Awards in different sections, during the recently concluded Zee Marathi TV awards 2015. The telecast of this event with the concept’‘Utsav Natyancha Atut Maitricha’ filled with fun and entertainment, will be telecast on 1st November at 7 pm, as per announcement made by Zee Marathi channel.
Though ‘Ka Re Durava’ won the best Zee Marathi serial award and other awards, the best actor and best actress awards went to Khandoba and Mhalsa-Banu jointly. ‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’ serial the best family award, while Swanandi received the fresh face of the year award, sponsored by Waman Hari Pethe. The highlight of the entertainment programme presented on the occasion, was the couple dance event, presented by all the couples of different serials.
Popular characters Ashu and kaivalya from ‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’ not only anchored the show, but also presented some skits to entertain the invitees. Bhau kadam & company also presented their fun filled skit. Though, ‘Nanda Saukhyabhare’ is a recently aired serial, their artistes, Ramesh Bhatkar, Vaibhav Mangle & Nandita Dhuri invited attention, during this programme.
Sujay Dahake gets ready with his next film ‘Phuntroo’
Having made films like ‘Shala‘ and ‘Ajoba‘, filmmaker Sujay Dahake has just completed shooting of his next film ‘Phuntroo’ with final schedule held in Pune. ‘Phuntroo‘ will be first Sci- Fi film in Marathi. Based on a love story, the film is presented by Eros International and produced by Krishika Lulla.
Producer Krishika Lulla has expressed her happiness, as the film’s shooting has been completed within scheduled time. Therefore, she has given the credit to the director and the finest co operation received from the artistes. Now, only the technical work remains, which will be completed in next two to three months and hence the makers plan to release this film in February 2016.
Highlight of this film is that singer & actress Ketaki Mategaonkar plays the female lead in this film, along with Madan Deodhar .The other artistes in important roles are Shivani Rangole, Rituraj Shinde, Shivraj Vaichal, Anshuman Joshi, Rohit Nikam and others. The other credits of the film are Make up by Vinod Sarode, costume by Ayushi Dagad, art direction by Satyajit Deshpande and camera by Archana Bhorade .
Madhuri Dixit shakes her legs with Marathi Taraka
Known for her typical dance steps, Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit along with Sridevi, joined the 500th show of ‘Marathi Taraka’ in Mumbai recently. Madhuri not only played the special guest on the occasion; but also entertained the audience, by performing few steps on her favourite song ‘Hamari Atariya Pe…’ amid loud applause from the audience. Mr. Vishwajeet kadam, Secretary of Bharati Vidyapeeth and few other celebrities from Marathi entertainment industry, were present on the occasion.
This special programme was a tribute to Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi, as the 15 marathi dancing actresses comprising of Varsha Usgaonkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Kranti Redkar, Neha Pendse, Bhargavi Chirmule,Prajakta Mali, Hemangi Kavi, Shruti Marathe, Kishori Godbole, Shruti Palav, Ketaki Palav, Teja Deokar, Sara Shravan, Sanskruti Balgude, Shweta Shinde, & Prachi Pisat presented the dances on the songs from the films of Madhuri and Sridevi. Needless to mention that they received appreciation from these two veteran actresses.
‘Manya’ – ‘Satya 2′ – ‘Rajwade & Sons’ – Amitriyaan’s interesting journey into films
In the year 2011, he made his debut as a hero in Marathi films, through ‘Manya The Wonder Boy’. But, it seems that our Marathi film makers ignored him, as we saw him later, in Ramgopal Verma’s ‘Satya -2′ in the lead role . And now, we find Amitriyaan Patil in a meaty role, in Atul Kulkarni produced and Sachin Kundalkar directed latest Marathi film ‘Rajwade & Sons’. Amitriyaan plays a US returned 30+ son of rich Business family of Rajwades from Pune, in the film ‘Rajwade & Sons’.
Surprisingly, Amitriyaan was kept away from this film’s promotion, for the reasons best known to the producer and director. After watching this film, we feel that it could be, with an intention of giving a surprise to the audience, to use that twist in the film. But, we personally feel that it would have been better, if they had shown his striking looks, in the promos of the film and also introduced him in the film’s promotion. His exposure would have certainly benefitted the film more.
Anyway, you cannot hide a diamond. It will continue to display its shine, even if, it is kept in a dark place. Amitriyaan is sure to click in Marathi films, in near future. We understand that this youngster has already been praised by many veteran Marathi artistes, who were present for the Pune premiere of this film, where, he was perhaps introduced, for the first time, by Producer Atul Kulkarni.
“I am glad that I shared the dais with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan”- Amruta Khanvilkar
Not all the artistes are fortunate to share the dais with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and that too in a live reality show. But, Marathi actress Amruta Khanvilkar had this opportunity. She was invited as a very special guest to entertain the first participant in Mr. Bachchan’s new TV reality show ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’. It so happened that the first participant in the first episode of this TV show on Star Plus channel, turned out to be a great fan of Amruta Khanvilkar. And, it was to fulfill her wish, the organizers had invited Amruta Khanvilkar to perform her famous Lavani dance and the participant Hemalata joined her.
Actually, Hemlata is one among the unusual personalities, invited by the organizers of this program, based on their contribution for a social cause. And, Hemlata is a person behind forming of an Orchestra of the blind people.
After participating in the programme, Amruta said, “ It was my privilege to fulfil the wish of a person like Hemlata. And, I shall continue to support people like her, who have been doing so much for the society. I am also glad that I shared the dais with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.”
‘Te Aath Diwas’ First look unveiled
First look of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Te Aath Divas’ was unveiled in presence of main artistes of the film and media persons today evening. On this occasion child artiste of the film Ashitosh Gaikwad presented a skit to introduce all the main artists in this film, one by one. And it was a unique way of introducing the artistes to the media.
The film is produced by Kishor Dhargalkar and Shekhar Pradhan and directed by Shyam Dhanorkar.DOP NavnitMisar and music Vikas Bhatavdekar are other credits. The film stars Tushar Pradhan, Renuka Shane, Atul Todankar, Aroh Velankar, Deepali Mucherkar, Avinash Masurekar, Sunil Joshi, Meena Sonavne , Abhilasha Patil ,Ashitosh Gaikwad and others.
The film is all set to release soon.
Deepak Dewoolkar to head new Marathi music channel
After successful launch of of ‘Music India’, ‘Sangeet Bangla’ & ‘Sangeet Bhojpuri’ channels, Media Worldwide have now launched their Marathi Music channel ‘Sangeet Marathi’. It will be offering non stop musical entertainment for 24 hours. This channel will present songs from Marathi films & albums. besides presenting classical drama songs, it will also present old songs from black white film’s era.
Mr. Deepak Deulkar heads this channel, with Prasahant Chotani, as its Managing Director. Both of them feel that their channel will would offer a good platform to all the newcomer lyricists, singers and music directors. Ankush Chaudhari to endorse popular ‘Soda’ brand through film ‘Guru’
We have often seen top actors from Bollywood endorsing popular brands, including the famous ‘Soda’ brand through advertisements of the products. Now, we are watching Ankush Chaudhari endorsing this famous ‘Soda’ brand in advertisements hammered on television.
Now, we have come to know that Eros International Media Limited (Eros International), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment have announced its one of a kind content partnership with the makers of this ‘Soda’ brand, for their upcoming Marathi film ‘Guru’.
The film stars Ankush Chaudhary in the lead role. So, don’t be surprised to see him endorse this ‘Soda’ brand in the film too. Popular Marathi TV and film actress Urmila Kanetkar plays the female lead opposite him. But, we don’t know, whether she too will be endorsing any consumer product in the film. ‘Guru’ will be directed by Sanjay Jadhav, based on a script by Ashish Parte. The film is expected to go on floors by November 2015.
With intense promotion ‘Rajwade & Sons’ gets ready for release
Atul Kulkarni & Sachin Kundalkar through their Kafe Kamera are releasing their film ‘Rajwade & Sons’ coming Friday. For the entire week, they were busy promoting their film at different places. And, with the help of their young team, they even visited infotech companies, as they are also targeting young audience.
The film is presenting a social family drama, which revolves around a big joint family, into family business. Atul himself is playing an important character in Rajwade family, with Sachin Khedekar and Mrunal Kulkarni playing his brother and sister respectively. The film has a strong star cast comprising of veteran and young artistes. The director Sachin Kundalkar has already claimed that his film will pass a social message, which is so relevant, today.
So, after ‘Happy Journey’ Atul and Sachin are all set to offer their second film together.
