Parth Bhalerao celebrates ‘Bhaubeej’ in a unique way

National award winning child artiste Parth Bhalerao celebrated his ‘Bhaubeej’ during Diwali, in a unique way. Having attained popularity through films like ‘Bhootnath returns (Hindi)’ and ‘Killa (Marathi)’, Parth visited HIV affected children, with the help of Mamata Foundation, where the girls from this foundation performed the Bhaubeej ceremony, treating Parth as their brother.
The office bearers of Mamata Foundation and producers of Wakau Films were present on the occasion. Incidentally, Parth is playing lead role in Wakau Productions new Marathi film ‘Disco Sanya’, which is also based on a social subject. After the ceremony, Parth interacted with the children and also narrated his experience of working with superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
Gurleen Chopra steals the show at ‘Shinma’ press conference

Milind Arun kavade’s next Marathi film ‘Shinma’ is due for release on 27th November 2015. To make this official announcement and to unveil the theme song of the film, he had organized a press conference recently, when most of the artistes of the film were present, excluding Nisha Parulekar, Sanskruti Balgude & Kishori Shahane. In their absence, the only lady member present on the occasion was Gurleen Chopra and she stole the show, posing in different poses for cine photographers.
Initially, the director Milind Kavade introduced the producer of the film Aanil Joshi and appreciated his constant support throughout the film’s shooting. Then, he introduced the music director duo Rohan Pradhan & Rohan Gokhale and also unveiled the theme song, before the media persons. The item song from this film, has already been shown to media, during the music release of this film, sometime back. Therefore, Gurleen Chopra also spoke on the occasion, uttering her few dialogues in Marathi from this film. Incidentally, the Punjabi actress has dubbed in Marathi for her own voice, which is a welcome news.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Ajinkya Deo, Vijay Patkar, Yatin karyekar, Saurabh Gokhale,Ganesh Yadav and producer of the film Aanil Joshi.
Sangram Samel to make his film debut through ‘Braveheart’

Popular stage and television actor Sangram Samel was waiting for a good script to make his debut in Marathi films. And, he has found one, in ‘Braveheart – Jiddh Jaganyachi’, a forthcoming Marathi film, which is a true story of youngster who fought bravely, against his deadly spine ailment, so as to be useful to others , till he breathed his last.
Sangram plays the most challenging role of young Nikhil Karkhanis in this film, which is directed by Dasbabu, who had earlier directed a film ‘Tahan’. The film is produced by Victim’s father Sachidanand Karkhanis , who wants to pay tributes to his brave son, whom he motivated to work for a cause, till the end of his life. Sachidanand is producing this film along with his close friend Santosh Mokashi, who also helped him to find a director and scriptwriter of this film.
Along with Sangram, the film also stars Arun Nalawade, who plays his father’s role in this film. The film also stars other well known artistes like Atul Parchure, Sulbha Deshpande,Kishore Pradhan, Dr.Vilas Ujawane, Vijay Chavan, Ila Bhate, Abhay Kulkarni, Kshama Ninave, Atharva Talvelkar,Swamikumar Banavalikar, and TV star Dhanashree Kadgaonkar, who is also making her film debut. Screenplay, dialogues and lyrics by Shrikant Bojewar, special poem recitation by Soumitra, music Arnad Chatterjee & editing by Parag Sawant are other credits. According to associate producer Santosh Mokashi, the film is 80% ready and will be released my March 2016 .
‘Aakrandan’ gets recognition as festival film

More and more Marathi films are getting the recognition as various Film Festival, for their skilful presentation of social issues. Now, latest addition to this category is new Marathi film ‘Aakrandan’. This film presented by Vivek Pandit and produced by Govind Aaher has found its entry at the Delhi International Film festival, which begins in the first week of December 2015. The presence of many talented versatile artistes from Marathi film industry, in this film, has invited the attention of many film lovers.
Written & Directed by Shashikant Deshpande, the film has already been dubbed Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Chinese languages. Based on the injustice on women and fight against the same, the film stars Sharad Ponkshe, Upendra Limaye, Ganesh Yadav, Bal Smita, Pradeep Velankar, Uday Tikekar, Tejashree Pradhan, Pallavi Wagh in lead roles. Director of Photography Damodar Naidu and editing by Manoj Sankla are the other credits.
New Marathi film ‘&’ promises emotional family drama

Emotional family dramas in films, has always been a tradition of Marathi films, over the years. But, the success of such films, always depended on its presentation. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘&’ which is based on this subject, is directed by Prakash Kunte, who recently gave a hit film like ‘Coffee Aani Barach Kahi’. This time, for his film ‘&’, he has tied up with Ravi Jadhav Films and that’s a big news. By the way, ‘&’ is produced by Eros International
The film is a touching tale of a family caught in the whirlpool of emotions; a dilemma to choose between the mind and the heart. The title of the film also defines connection between the countless emotions of individuals and how it affects their life. The cast of the film comprise of Mrinal Kulkarni, Siddharth Menon, Shivani Rangole and Indraneil Sengupta, who is making his debut into Marathi films. The film will go on the floors shortly.
Famous Eye surgeon Dr. Tatyarao Lahane to play an important role in ‘Shalee’

Known for presenting realistic stories, Marathi films have gone worldwide . In the past, many Marathi film makers have used real life characters from their respective profession, to give a realistic look to their film. Now, director Atul Satam will be presenting famous Eye Surgeon Dr. Tatyarao Lahane , through his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Shalee’ , which is based on ‘Shari’ , the story written by late Shankar Patil. Along with Dr. Tatyarao Lahane, Alka Kubal Athalye will also be seen in special appearance.
‘Shali’ which is due for release on 27th November 2015, has been shot at picturesque Konkan locations, displaying the traditional culture and rituals of the local place. The film stars Chetana Bhatt, Vijay Gokhale, Sanjivani Jadhav, Digambar Naik, Jaywant Wadkar, Shivkanta Sutar, Ganesh mane, Abhay Khadapkar , child artiste Sahil Gaokar in lead roles, along with some local artistes. Surendra Singh is the cinematographer of this film.
‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusli’ premiere held on 1st day of Diwali morning

The first day of Diwali morning plays a very important for Maharashtrian families. New film ‘Kaul Manacha’ launched with blessings of Sonali Bendre

The presence of popular actress Sonali Bendre, as a chief guest for the muhurat of new Marathi film ‘Kaul Manacha’, added a special flavour. She was all praise for Makeup man turned producer Rajesh Patil, who is making this film. Besides Sonali, the president of Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal Mr. Vijay Patkar was also present as a special guest for the occasion. Also present were artistes and technical team members of the film.
The film presents director Bhimrao Mude, who is independently directing his debut film. The film’s story is written by Bhimrao himself, along with Shweta Pendse. Rohan-Rohan will be composing the music of this film, with Nitin Ghag to handle cinematography. Big news about this film is that Beauty queen Amruta Patki, will be making her comeback into Marathi films, after making her debut in ‘Satya Savitri Aani Satyavan’, few years ago. She is playing the lead role in this film , along with Rajesh Shringarpure, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Vijay Gokhale, Vijay Chavhan, Jaywant Wadkar, kamlesh Sawant, Shweta Pendse, Maushumi Tondwalkar, Varsha Dandale and many child artistes.
Nirmiti Sawant returns to Big screen with ‘Bai Go Bai’

From ‘Bindhaast’ to ‘Gangunbai Non Matric’ ( The film) versatile actress Nirmiti Sawant has presented variety of characters, entertaining the Marathi film audience, for the past 16 years through her 16 films. Now, her forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bai Go Bai’ is all set to release on 4th December 2015. Recently, the music release of this film, was held in Mumbai, in presence of team members and invitees.
Produced by Pradeep Patil & Naresh Thakur , the film is directed by Vijay Pagare, who is making his debut as a director through this film. Earlier, he had assisted Kedar Shinde in his two projects. Film’s music is by Vijay Gatlewar. Incidentally, Vijay Gatlewar was the winner of 2006 TV reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ as a singer. While speaking on the occasion, Nirmiti Sawant expressed satisfaction of doing this film and hoped that the film will be appreciated by the Marathi film audience.
Besides Nirmiti Sawant, the other artistes of this film are, Vijay Patkar, Nayan Jadhav, Shashikant Kerkar, Sheetal Phatak, Jaywant Bhalekar and others.
‘Guru’ will be a big attraction for the New year

Past happenings of Marathi films released during past 5 to 6 years, show that films released during the first month of the new year, have always been hits. Best examples are films like ‘Zenda’, ‘ Natarang’, ‘Shala’, ‘Balak Palak’, ‘Time Pass’ & ‘Classmates’. Now, director Sanjay Jadhav is also getting ready to release his film ‘Guru’, which is presented by Eros International , during January 2016. So, after Diwali Dhamaka, we hope to see new year bash too, with ‘Guru‘ declaring its release during January 2016.
For the year 2015 , Sanjay Jadhav didn’t have a good time, as both his films ‘Pyaarwali Love Story’ and ‘Tu Hi Re’ not achieving expected success. So, for Sanjay, it is very necessary to begin the new year with a bang, as he has two more big projects, to handle during 2016. Luckily, for ‘Guru’ he has his ‘Duniyadari’ lucky star Ankush Choudhary, who is presently in great form, with two successive hits, in the form of ‘Double Seat’ and ‘Dagadi Chawl’. Ankush too wants to make it a hat trick with this film, as a successful solo hero. By the way, ‘Guru’ stars Ankush along with Urmila Kanetkar.
