Holi celebrated by Marathi film artistes
Artistes of the film ‘What About Savarkar’ celebrated Holi in a different way. The team of artistes Avinash Narkar, Atul Todankar, Ganesh Mayekar & Sara Sravan first assembled at one place and then cleaned the area around and then burned the waste, to give it an eco friendly look. They also vowed to eradicate the wrong practices in the society and offered themselves for the development of the nation. Inspired by the ideology of late Veer Savarkar, this film will be released on 17th April 2015.
The artistes of forthcoming film ‘Murder Mestri’ were also nowhere behind, as far the Holi celebrations were concerned. The artistes along with their technical crew, had a colourful holi, on the sets of their film.Senior artistes Dilip Prabhavalkar and Vandana Gupte also joined them. ‘Murder Mestri’ is Nadiadwala Gen Next productions‘ film directed by Rahul jadhav. It is a suspense filled murder mystery, which stars Dilip Prabhavalkar, Vandana Gupte, Hrishikesh Joshi, Vikas Kadam, Sanjay Khapre,Kamlakar Satpute, Devendra Bhagat, Kranti Redkar & Manasi Naik. This film will be released in June 2015.
‘Chaitra Chahool’ 2015 Awards announced
‘Chaitra Chahool’ will be celebrating its 10th year this year. The group has always been preserving Marathi culture and encouraging all those who are spreading the importance of this language, through different ways. This platform has been created to bring all lovers of Marathi, under one roof. There is a purpose to celebrate this occasion every year, by honouring all those, who have succeeded in promoting Marathi, through their talent. During the past nine years,the group has honoured well known personalities like Sulbha Deshpande, Guru Parvati Kumar, Raja mayekar, Madhukar Toradmal, Prof. Shankar Vaidya, Sulochana Chavan, Pratap kargoppikar, Arun Hornekar, Sanjana Kapoor, Ganpat Mhasge, Chandrakant Kale, Mukta Barve,Pradeep Mulye, and Prasad Oak.
This year Chaitra Chahool 2015 will felicitate writer Madhuri Purandae with Dhyaas award and noted actor and director of Marathi stage Mr. Vijay kenkre,with Rangakarmi award. The awards will be presented to them at Chaitra Chahool’s special programme, to be held at 5 pm on Saturday 21st March 2015 at Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga, Mumbai.
Four directors give clap for Film’s Muhurat
What may be called a big news in Marathi film industry, four reputed directors of Marathi films came together, to give clap for the muhurat of their friend’s film. It so happened that muhurat of Ajay-Atul and Girish Kulkarni ‘s film ‘Jaudya Na Balasaheb’ was to be held in Kenjal village near Wai. Among the special invitees, were the four directors, namely Umesh Kulkarni, Satish Manvar, Nikhil Mahajan & Gajendra Ahire. And, they played the chief guests to give the clap for the muhurat shot of the film.
Writer and actor Girish Kulkarni is making his debut as a director through this film and all these well wishers had travelled all the way to Wai, to wish him success. The film is produced by Ajay Atul, along with Girish Kulkarni and Poonam Shende, who are also sharing the burden of production. Needless to mention that the film has Ajay Atul’s music. Prominent artistes from Marathi film industry are part of the team. Present on the occasion were Mohan Joshi, Reema Lagoo, Sai Tamhankar, Poorva Pawar, Kishore Chougule, Shrikant Yadav,Prashant Pethe and others.
‘Manatlya Unhat’ all set to release
Dreams are something which each one of us have seen and we love to live in our dream world. All of us struggle to make our dreams into reality . For accomplishing our dreams, we get the support of our parents, in-spite of our failure to achieve our dreams . Our parents, who couldn’t achieve their own dreams, try to fulfil their children’s dreams by giving them a higher and costly education in present. In spite of rising inflation they strive hard. Do the children, who are running around to fulfil their dreams, do even give a thought, as to what their parents have dreamt for them? Have their parents realized their dreams? This is the subject handled in forthcoming film ‘Manatlya Unhat’, produced by Anand Sagar Productions & Vijayshree Patil and directed by Pandurang Jadhav.
The film stars three National Award winners Kishor Kadam, Mitali Jagtap and child star Hansraj Jagtap. In addition to them Kailash Waghmare of the critically acclaimed play ‘Shivaji Underground in Bhimnagar Mohalla’ is also part of this film. The other cast includes Sameer Dharmadhikari, Nagesh Bhosle, Ruchita Jadhav, Chhaya Kadam and child actors Manthan Patil and Oveshikha Patil. The screenplay is by Vidyasagar Adhyapak and Pandurang Jadhav and dialogues by Vidyasagar Adhyapak. The DOP is Nagraj Divakar and editing is by Nilesh Navnath Gawand . The lyrics are by Vishwaraj Joshi, and music is by Rahul Mishra. The playback singers are by famous singers Adarsh Shinde and Ranjana Jadhav Mane and the background music is by Ashwin Shrinivasan.

‘साज नवा, रंग नवा’ ह्या आपल्या टॅग लाइन प्रमाणे ‘कलर्स मराठी’ ह्या वाहीनी प्रक्षेकांसाठी काही नवीन कार्यक्रम, मालिका घेऊन आलीय. त्यात “आमच्या घरात…सूनबाई जोरात” ह्या एक वेगळ्या कार्यक्रमाचा समावेश आहे.
२३ मार्च पासून सुरु होणाऱ्या ह्या कार्यक्रमाचे निवेदनअभिनेता प्रसाद ओक करणार आहे. छोट्या पडद्याच्या चाहता वर्गामध्ये, गृहिणींची संख्या मोठ्या प्रमाणात आहे. हे विशेष लक्षात ठेवून ह्या कार्यक्रमाची निर्मीत करण्यात आल्याचे दिसते.

Poster of ‘Sasucha Swayamvar’ unveiled
The movie digital poster of forthcoming much talked about Marathi film ‘Sasucha Swayamvar’ was unveiled today. Very aptly designed, the poster shows actor Pushkar Jog and comedian Sunil Pal the two important artistes from this film carrying the Doli (Carriage) of Vishakha Subhedar. According to Pushkar Jog, who is also the presenter of this film, the trailer launch of this film will be held in a big way on 12th March 2015. On this day, he has invited all those female artistes from Marathi television and film industry, who have played the role of Mother in law. He wants this day to be identified as ‘Mothers’ in law’ day in future.
The film is produced by Santosh Parab and written/directed by Omkar Mane, will release on 24th April 2015. Sameer Parab is the co-producer and line producer of this film.
Ketaki has one more Feather in her Cap
Ketaki Mategaonkar attained name and fame, when she appeared in ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi L’il Champs’ a Marathi music reality show on television. Ketaki has so far acted in Marathi films like ‘Aarohi’, ‘Shala’, ‘Kaksparsh’, ‘Taani’, & Timepass. The last one being a super hit film. Now, her two films ‘Time Pass 2′ and ‘Phuntro’ will be released soon.
Ketaki has been happy with the progress of her career as a singer and actress. But, her wish of having her own solo music album, was fulfilled during the week. Ketaki’s solo music album with 9 songs suitably titled ‘Ketaki’ was released yesterday, in Mumbai. Prominent personalities from Marathi film and Music industry and many well wishers were present on the occasion. Mr. Shankar Mahadevan and Mr. Ashok Patki were the special guests of honour during the release of this music album presented by Universal Music Co. With this latest achievement, Ketaki has one more feather in her cap.
Veteran Marathi Journalist Isaq Mujawar is no more
On the eve of Jagatik Marathi Din reached a sad news of demise of veteran film critic Isaq Mujawar. A reputed and highly respected film critic, columnist and writer, he was active with his writings even at an advanced age of 80+. Considered to be an encyclopaedia of marathi and hindi film industry, he had more than fifty books to his credit, Eka Songadyachi Batavani, Teen Pidhyancha Aawaj – Lata, Mukhavata, Chitramauli are to name a few. ‘Marathi Cinemancha 100 Varshancha Aadhava’ was his latest contribution.
After starting his career at an early age in 1955, he held various posts in print media publications. His writing on films and film people commanded respect. His passion for ‘film’ writing brought many stalwarts like V Shantaram, Bhalji Pendharkar and Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde closer to him, in personal life. He was felicitated with Kalamaharshi Baburao Painter Lifetime Achievement Award a couple of years ago and last year he was awarded Chitrabhushan award by Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal.
Marathi Movie World joins his family in the time of grief. Rest in peace Isaq Mujawar.
‘Natasamrat’ muhurat in a big way at Nashik
27th February 2015 is the 103rd birth anniversary of well known Marathi writer Vi.Wa. Shirwadkar, who was popularly known as Kusumagraj. On this day, Marathi film industry paying tribute to the great poet & playwright by launching a film ‘Natasamrat‘ based on his hit play with the same name. The event taken place at 12 noon on 27th February 2015 at Kusumagraj Bhavan, Nashik. Incidentally, Mr. shiwadkar spent most of his life in Nashik.
Now, prominent Marathi actors like Nana Patekar, Vikram Gokhale & Reema Lagoo will be part of this cinematic version, which will be directed by Mahesh Waman Manjrekar. The tragic tale of a well known stage actor Ganpatrao Belwalkar was written by Shirwadkar on the same day 53 years ago. Since then, many well known actors have been part of this play including Dr. Shreeram Lagoo.
The film is being produced jointly by Fin Craft Entertainment, Gajanan Chitra and Great Maratha Entertainment. Vishwas Vinayak Joshi & Nana Gajanan Patekar are the producers of this film. Since both Nana Patekar and Vikram Gokhale are part of this film, It is interesting to know, who is playing which character in this film? But, Reema Lagoo will surely play Kaveri Belwalkar. The characters of Raja-the Bootpolish boy and Vithoba the actor and well wisher of Ganpatrao are also equally important roles in the story, as all other characters are negative characters, excluding the little innocent grand daughter of Ganpatrao. So, let us wait for more details.
Shooting for ‘Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai’ sequel to begin
‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ was a runaway hit a few years ago. It helped Swwapnil Joshi to find his base in Marathi films, after working in hindi television shows. Through this film, Mukta Barve once again proved her mettle as a splendid performer. Though Mukta is not visible on screen these days, Swwapnil has become a sought after star, of Marathi films.
Satish Rajwade, who directed ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’, wanted to make sequel of the same, for quite some time now. Almost five years have passed after the release of ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’, but, it was getting delayed due to various reasons. Now, it seems he is all ready to roll the sequel and will start the shooting soon. He wants the complete team of the original film on board this time too, like Mirah Entertainment, Director of photography Suhas Gujrati, Music duo Avinash-Vishwajit, Editor Rajesh Rao, co-writer Parag Kulkarni, all technicians, and even the spot boys.
The sequel will be called ‘Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai-2′ with a tagline … ‘Lagnala Yayachach’. The makers are targeting for a Diwali release. One thing for sure, superstition does prevail in entertainment world!
