New Pair of Samar and Kasturi becomes hit on Television
The ongoing Marathi serial ‘Kasturi’ on Colors Marathi has become popular in a short time. The reason for this is its emotion filled story and new pair of Samir and Kasturi . This serial presents a story of brother and sister, where the sister Kasturi plays an important responsible role of a sister who becomes strict and also caring for her ambitious brother Nilesh.
But, after watching the emotion filled story of brother and sister, we find Samar coming into the life of Kasturi. Samar and Kasturi are totally opposite to each other. In short, they are mismatched. Veteran actor Jayant Savarkar passes away at 87
Well Known Marathi veteran actor Jayant Savarkar passed away today morning in a Thane hospital. He was 87. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. Mr. Jayant Savarkar was recently awarded Life Time Achievement award at the Ambernath Marathi Film Festival. Earlier, he had also received the prestigious Natyavarya Prabhakar Panshikar Lifetime Achievement award from Government of Maharashtra.
He had performed in more than 100 plays and was known for his memorable roles Taliram in ‘Ekach Pyala’ and Antu Barva in ‘Vyakti aani Valli’. He was active with his television performances through serials like ‘Tumchi Mulgi Kaay Karte’ last year and the second part of this serial ‘Karan Gunhyala Mafi Nahi’ which is being aired now Sony Marathi. Only few days ago he was seen in this serial playing the role of a detective Chintu Nana an old man as Police informer. Jayant Savarkar had also performed in few Hindi films like ‘Vaastav’ ‘Yugpurush’ and ‘Singham’. His last rites will be performed on Tuesday morning.
Abhinay Sawant is happy with his role in ‘Hira Pheri’
Abhinay Sawant son of popular versatile actress Nirmiti Sawant had earlier made his debut through Kedar Shinde’s Marathi film ‘Shrimant Damodar Pant’ and had won the hearts of Marathi film lovers. Thereafter he performed in films like ‘Akalpit’ and ‘Thapadya’ besides performing in popular serials like ‘Naktichya Lagnala Yaycha Ha’ and ‘Navari Mile Navryala’ which enabled him to reach every household in Maharashtra.
Now, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hira Pheri’ he is making a grand comeback in a lead role opposite ‘Boyz 2′ fame actress Subhangi Tamble. Along with them are other popular artistes like Vijay Patwardhan, Digamber Naik, Pravin Prabhakar and Nitin Bodhre. Speaking about his role in this film, Abhinay seemed to be extremely happy. This is a comedy film and this subject is very dear to me. When Director Amol Bidkar explained to me the subject of this film, I immediately said ‘Yes’ to him.”

Umesh and Priya return to stage after a decade in ‘Jar Tar chi Goshta’
Ten years ago Umesh Kamat and Priya Bapat performed in their first Marathi play ‘Nava Gadi Nava Rajya’ and the pair attained popularity. Thereafter, both of them together performed in films and web series. Now, after almost a decade both of them will be seen together in forthcoming Marathi play ‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’’ This play is produced by Priya Bapat under the banner of Sonal Production.
‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’ is directed by Advait Dadarkar and Ranjit Patil . This play is written by Irwati Karnik and stars Umesh Kamat, Priya Bapat Kamat, Pallavi Ajay and Ashutosh Gokhale. Speaking about her play, Priya said, “This is my second commercial play through my home production and I am glad that I am part of this play as an actress. I was very keen on working with Umesh once again on Marathi stage. And, my wish has come true through this play. So, eagerly looking forward to appear in front of the stage audience.”
