4 Marathi films to compete with each other this week

Simultaneous release of four Marathi films is not new to Marathi film industry, which has witnessed as many as five to six films released on the same day. This week will witness four Marathi films namely, ‘Lathe Joshi‘, ‘Dry Day‘, ‘Mithun‘ and ‘Ipitar‘. Known for their unusual subjects, Marathi films are also watched by many non Marathi film lovers. Among these four films, ‘Dry Day‘ has managed maximum theatre screens in Mumbai & other parts of Maharashtra, while ‘Farzand‘ which is in its 7th week , is still running in about 23 cinema halls in Mumbai and Thane regions So, it remains to be seen, which film would attract crowds at the cinema halls.By the way, three more Marathi films are set for release simultaneously, next Friday.

Lathe Joshi‘ as indicated through its title, is about a person working on Lathe machine and not ready to accept the change in technology. Whereas his son who is into hardware engineering has a different view. The film stars Chittaranjan Giri, Ashwini Giri & Om Bhutkar. The film is directed by Mangesh Joshi, who has already received compliments from many known personalities from Marathi film industry, for handling this subject.

The second film ‘Dry Day‘ is about a break up between Ajay and his girlfriend and how his friends help him to overcome the depression. Written and directed by Pandurang Jadhav the film stars Rutwik Kendre, Monalisa Bagal and Kailash Waghmare in lead roles. Now, talking about the other two films, ‘Mithun‘ is a coming of age love story, ‘Ipitar‘ presents the tale of three mischievous collegians who always run into trouble and are underestimated by their parents. ‘Mithun‘ is directed by Prakash Janardhan Pawar and stars Vishal Nikam, Amruta Dhongde, Jayant Wadkar & Sanjay Khapre, while ‘Ipitar‘ directed Datta Tarde stars Bharat Ganeshpure, Milind Shinde, Prakash Dhotre, Vijay Gite and others.
