Lokshahir Vithhal Umap was a renowned folk singer, who not only had his followers in Maharashtra, but all over the world. Having been conferred  the Sangeet Natak Academy , President’s award, he had made a place in the hearts of music lovers. His tradition is being carried forward by his sons. On the occasion of 14^th memorial year, the 14^th Lokshahir Vitthal Umap Smriti Sangeet event & Vitthal Umap Foundation’s ‘Mrudagandha Awards’ presentation has been organised on 26^th November 2024 @ 6 pm in Kashinath Ghanekar Sabhagrih, Thane.

Tributes will be paid to Lokshahir Vitthal Umap by artistes from different fields entertainment; besides the awards presentation. This year’s recipients for awards in different fields are as follows : Shri. Purshottam Berde ( Life Time Achievement), Shri Dnyanesh Maharao ( Writer & Journalist), Ms. Surekha Punekar ( Folk art ), Shreegouri Suresh Sawant ( Social field), Shri. Adesh Bandekar ( Acting & Anchoring), Smt. Suchitra Bandekar ( Actress & Producer), Shri. Rohit Raut ( Rising Star- Music field), Smt. Deepali Deshpande ( Sports field).

On this occasion, Mr. Nandesh Umap will also felicitate some back stage artistes , by offering them some financial help. For this grand function renowned actress Ms. Rohini Hattangadi will be present as chief guest along with Shri. Jayraj Salgaonkar ( Editor- Kaalnirnay) and Shri Sandip Malvi ( Additional Commissioner , Thane). Ms. Sameera Gujar will anchor the show which will is free for all.
