Veteran actress of Marathi and Hindi films, Seema Deo is no more. She passed away today at her Juhu residence. She was 81. Ms. Deo was suffering from Alzheimer disease. Her husband Ramesh Deo also a popular actor of Marathi and Hindi films passed away last year.Her two sons Ajinkya and Abhinay Deo are also acting and film making profession respectively.
Seema Deo who was born as Nalini Saraf made her acting debut on Big screen in 1957 with Marathi film ‘Aaliya Bhogasi’. Later, she married actor Ramesh Deo. She continued with her acting profession after marriage and we saw this husband and wife duo perform in many films including Hindi film ‘Anand’ where they played husband and wife.
Seema Deo performed memorable roles in Marathi films like ‘Molkarin’,’ Jagachya Pathivar’, Yanda Kartavya Aahe’,’Ya Sukhanno Ya’, ‘Ha Majha Marg Ekala ‘, ‘Suvasini’ and ‘Jeta’. In Hindi, she had performed important roles in ‘Anand’,’ Bhabhi Ki Chudiyan’,’ Saraswatichandra’,’ Dus Lakh’,’ Koshish’,’Jaisi Karni Vaisi Bharni’,’ Kora Kagaz’ & ‘Sansar’.
She was also conferred with Lifetime Achievement award in 2017 at Pune International Film Festival(PIFF) .
