Trailer of ‘Faas’ unveiled on social media

The dream of every father and mother is to see that their child achieves what they could not achieve. However, the makers of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Faas (फास)’ feel that the farmers are not able to dream big, as they are not able to provide the basic needs to their children. And this reality they would like to present through their film ‘Faas’ which is slated for release in all cinema houses in Maharashtra on 4th February 2022. The trailer of this film was unveiled recently on social media.

‘Faas’ has been presented by Maheshwari Patil Chakurkar of Maa Entertainmentand  has been produced in collaboration with Naresh Patil, Pallavi Palkar, Dayanand Avrade, Basavraj Patil and Vaishali Paddevad jointly, with Avinash Kolte as the director.  The film has already been appreciated at various national as well as international film festivals. The story as well as dialogues of ‘Faas’  have been penned by Maheshwari Patil Chakurkar, while Avinash Kolte has shouldered the responsibility of not only writing the screenplay but has also handling the direction of the film.

The national award winning versatile actor Upendra Limye will be seen playing a responsible police officer in the film which also stars Kamlesh Sawant as a farmer and Sayaji Shinde as a Doctor, besides actors like Pallavi Palkar, Ganesh Chandanshive, Namdeo Patil, Gyanesh Undgaonkar, Nilesh Bade, Umesh Rajhans, Sharad Kakde, Ishwar More, Pawan Vaidya, Vinay Joshi, Deva Pandey, Pooja Tayade, Tejaswini, Madhuri Bharti and Shrutika Londe.   Ramani Ranjan Das is the D.O.P of the film while, Apoorva Motiwale and Aashish Mhatre have edited it. Art Direction by Santosh Samudre.’

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, whose strategies are known all over the world, has become immortal in the hearts of Marathi people. In the upcoming social Marathi film ‘Faas(फास)’, the song that will sing the praises of Shivaraya’s prowess, is expected to  make the fans proud.

 Presented by Maa Entertainment and produced by Maaheshwari Patil Chakurkar, ‘Faas‘ sheds light on the issue of farmers. A very important song from ‘Faas’ has just been released. This song has been included in ‘Faas’ on the occasion of Shiva Jayanti. This song which starts by saying ‘Ji Ji Ra Ji Ji …’ is describing the birth of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The song is written by lyricist Amol Deshmukh and composer Alan K. P. and has been recorded by singers Avdhoot Gupte & Sheikh Nishant. Listening to the title of this song, ‘Shivnerivar Shivshakticha Tej Janmala Aaj…’ is memorable.

In this song, Maharaj’s Saffron flag is seen fluttering by Doula, but the beautiful idol of Shivaraya also attracts attention. This song has been filmed on prominent artist Kamlesh Sawant. At the beginning of the song, National Award winning actor Upendra Limaye also appears in khaki uniform, then the song starts. This song of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been filmed and recorded to the sound of dhol. Disciplined drumming and rhythmic dancing can be seen in this song. There is also an authentic Marathi lezim dance with a pair of drums and flutes. Apart from the adventure sports like fencing and dandapatta, also fugadi is seen which is the identity of Maharashtra. Overall, this song is coming at an important moment in the story to generate curiosity.

‘Faas’ is directed by Avinash Kolte , while Upendra Limaye, Sayaji Shinde, Kamlesh Sawant, Pallavi Palkar, Ganesh Chandanshive, Namdev Patil, Nilesh Bade, Dnyanesh Undagavkar, Umesh Rajhans, Sharad Kakade, Ishwar More, Pawan Vaidya, Vinay Joshi, Deva Pandey, Pooja Tayde, Tejaswini, Madhuri Bharti and Shrutika Londhe are part of the star cast. The story and dialogues of this film have been written  by Maaheshwari Patil Chakurkar, while the screenplay has also been done by the director Avinash Kolte.

‘Faas’, which has garnered more than 130 awards from critics and connoisseurs all over the world, will be released in cinemas on February 4, 2022. The film will give a new perspective on farmers and their way of life. In addition to Cannes, Japan and Paris, as well as in important cities like Rajasthan and Noida, ‘Faas’ has been highly praised. Ramani Ranjan Das is the cinematographer of the film, while Apoorva Motiwale and Ashish Mhatre are the editors. Art direction has been handled by Santosh Samudre.

Marathi films have been inviting all the attention at various international film festivals, for handling many social issues connected with people from different sectors. India being the country predominantly represented by farmers, their issues are very important. New Marathi film ‘Faas (फास)’ talks about the life of those farmers and speaks about the alarming increase in the rate of suicides by farmers. This film which has won about 150 awards at various international film festivals will be released on 4th February 2022.

Maheshwari Patil Chakurkar has made this film under the banner of Maa Entertainment and is Directed by Avinash Kolte. The film has already won appreciation at the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes as well as the festivals organised in neighbouring counties like Japan, Paris besides Noida and Rajasthan in India.
