After attaining grand success as a director with his film ‘Katyar Kaljaat Ghusali’ (movie review) Subodh Bhave will now bring another popular musical play of yesteryear’s ‘Manapaman’ on big screen. This will be released next year during Diwali. Recently, on the auspicious Gudi Padwa day, the official announcement of this film was made with launch of teaser poster of the film. This film is being produced by Sunil Phadtare.

The original musical play with this name was written by Krushnaji Prabhakar Khadilkar while Govindrao Tembe had offered music for it. Now, for the film Shirish Gopal Deshpande will be writing the screenplay while music will be provided by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The beautiful lyrics of the original play like ‘Shoora Mi Vandile… ‘, ‘Chandrika Hi Janu….’ And others are still on our lips. The play was first staged in the year 1911 with Balgandharva playing the lead role. Now, there is a lot of curiosity about the star cast of this film.
