Satish Pulekar and Ila Bhate Unite for the First Time in ‘Tula Pahata’
A nostalgic tale of love, longing, and second chances is all set to grace the big screen with the upcoming Marathi film ‘Tula Pahata’. Directed by Mayura Pradhan, the film promises to strike an emotional chord with audiences by revisiting the innocence of first love while exploring its complexities across generations.
At the heart of ‘Tula Pahata’ lies a compelling thought: while many teach us how to fall in love, no one teaches us how to forget it. The narrative unfolds an intriguing ‘what if’ – what happens when someone you once loved deeply walks back into your life after years of separation? This emotional premise forms the backbone of a story that spans three generations, seamlessly moving from the charm of the 1970s to the realities of modern relationships.
The film stands out for its layered storytelling. The 1970s segment captures the era’s distinct aesthetic through costumes, music, and atmosphere, transporting viewers to a bygone time. In contrast, the contemporary timeline addresses relevant themes such as live-in relationships and the ever-present generation gap, making the film relatable to today’s audience.

One of the major highlights is the fresh pairing of veteran actors Satish Pulekar and Ila Bhate, who share screen space together for the first time. Adding youthful energy to the narrative are newcomers Mansi Patil and Nachiket Lele, who take on the lead roles, bringing a new-age perspective to the story.
The ensemble cast further includes noted names like Nishigandha Wad, Anand Kale, Dipali Vichare, Pallavi Ajay, Swapnil Parjane, and Akash Shinde, promising a strong mix of seasoned talent and emerging performers.
The recently unveiled poster has already generated buzz on social media, hinting at a heartfelt, family-friendly cinematic experience. With its universal theme of love that transcends time and age, ‘Tula Pahata’ is gearing up for a worldwide release on July 10. Blending nostalgia with contemporary sensibilities, this film invites audiences to relive the magic of first love – and perhaps rediscover emotions they never truly left behind.
