Who is playing Rajan in Bharat Sunanda’s Marathi film?
Writer director Bharat Sunanda has just completed the shooting of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Rajan‘, but no one really knows who is playing the title role in this film. The makers of this film have deliberately kept it as a top secret, to create more curiosity among Marathi film lovers. According to reliable sources, the film is inspired by the underworld don of Mumbai Chhota Rajan, during 90’s. Moreover, the title of the film and the poster suggest the same.
So, after watching films of different underworld dons in Hindi and watching the success of recent times Marathi film ‘Dagadi Chawl‘ also based on a real life underworld don turned politician, now writer director Bharat Sunanda is getting ready to release next Marathi film on the backdrop of 90’s but highlighting the gang wars of Mumbai.
According to writer –director Bharat Sunanda, this film is to offer entertainment but at the same time it is a realistic story, on the backdrop of gang wars in Mumbai. The director has also made it clear that it is not a biopic on the life of a particular person, but has been made with an intention to show to the present generation the gang wars in Mumbai, especially during the period 1983 to 1993. The film will be released in few months time, but the suspense about who is playing the title role of ‘Rajan‘ still remains the mystery.
Now, a Marathi film on Chhota Rajan
Films on the lives of underworld Dons Haji Mastan, Manya Surve, Arun Gavali have always received good response. Best example was last year’s release ‘Dagadi Chawl‘, which was a super hit. The makers of this film have also announced sequel of the same now. But, in the meanwhile, Bharat Sunanda written and directed film ‘Rajan‘ has been announced, which will be on the life of another underworld Don Chhota Rajan.
Produced by Mudita Films & Anusaya Films and presented by Rhythm Movie the film will cover how a person’s ambition to do something big lands him on the wrong path. Though the film ‘Rajan‘ has been announced, the suspense about the actor playing the role of Rajan is still not disclosed. There is just guessing work by many film enthusiasts. After all, he has to be a versatile actor.
