‘Tu Hi Re’ launched with song recording

Tuhire Movie, Swapnil Joshi, Sanjay Jadhav, Sai Tamhankar
Known for presenting intense love stories through his films like ‘Duniyadari’ and ‘Pyar Wali Love Story’, cinematographer turned director Sanjay Jadhav has now launched his next film ‘Tu Hi Re’ with a recording of song, at Aajivasan studios. The romantic song was recorded in the voice of singer Aadarsh Shinde. Not much is known about the film’s story, but surely it is a romantic love story.

Starring popular stars Swapnil Joshi, Sai Tamhankar & Tejaswini Pandit in lead roles, the film’s music is composed by Amitraj and Pankaj Padgham on the lyrics of Guru Thakur. Manaswini Lata Ravindra has penned the story of this film, which is being made jointly under the banners of Karan Entertainment, Indian Film Studio and Dreaming 24/7. They have planned to release this film in September 2015.

Movie Review by: Jitendra R More

Every parting indicates a big loss; but, every reunion is a reminiscence. Based on this philosophy is ‘Classmates’, the latest offering from Aditya Sarpotdar. No matter, this film is an authorised remake of a South film, with the same name, Aditya has used his past seven years experience, to skilfully captain his team of talented performers. Set on the backdrop of a college life during 90s, the film begins with a scene 20 years later, when the classmates of 1995 batch reunite for a purpose, in their college. So, we witness the seven batch mates comprising of Satya (Ankush Chaudhari), Appu(Sai Tamhankar), Aditi (Sonalee Kulkarni), Rohit Bhosale, now a MLA (Sachit Patil), Pratap, now a Police Inspector( Sushant Shelar), Amit(Suyash Tilak), now husband of Appu and Heena ( Pallavi Patil), a Muslim woman and close friend of Aditi; attending the opening ceremony of the Music section in memory of their departed friend.

Classmates Movie, Sai Tahankar

They are all welcomed by the lady principal (Kishori Shahane Viz), mother of late Ani (Siddharth Chandekar). As they are about to meet late in the evening, after the function, an unfortunate accident takes place in respect of one of their classmates. This being a biggest twist in the story, the film progresses with the investigation of the accident and at the same time, taking the viewers into flashback, to show the happenings twenty years ago, while they were in the college. So, we witness the acts of ragging, which prevailed those days, the rivalry between two groups, with the entry of politically backed youth wings, dance n music and of course the love affairs. In short, it is all in one contribution of action, saga, friendship, music and revenge.
Best thing about the film, is its well written screenplay by Sameer Vidwans and Kshitij Patwardhan and suitable dialogues by Kshitij, to meet the requirement of the realistic college lifestyle, during that period. But, above all the director Aditya Sarpotdar shows his presence through many important scenes. Watch the scene, where ace swimmer Sachit Patil folding his call letter from foreign university for admission, to support one of the tilting legs of the side table in his house.
This clearly displayed the gravity of the situation, where his father who is in deep trouble in Politics, requiring the support of his son and the son offering the same, through this act. Very cleverly, he has managed to unfold the mystery, in the screenplay. Though he gave a Marathi feel to this film, the two songs have a south Indian flavour. Even otherwise, barring two songs, the music is not very impressive. Perhaps, too many cooks couldn’t match well, with each other. But, the background score is simply fabulous. Good support comes from impressive camera work and sound design.
In the acting department, three actors have shown maturity in their acting, while portraying their respective characters. They are Ankush Choudhary , Sachit Patil and Siddharth Chandekar. All three of them stole the show, displaying diversity . The director has exploited their full potential. Among the females, Sonalee Kukarni has also shown lot of improvisation, in the role of Aditi. Sai Tamhankar suits well in the role of possessive Appu, but her performance is more dependent on the dialogues offered to her. Sushant Shelar and SuyashTilak are convincing, but Pallavi has been wasted in the role of Heena. Not much scope was given to this promising new find actress, who was picked up from the talent hunt programme of 9X Jhakas. Veterans like Kishori Shanane, Ramesh Deo and Sanajy Mone offer good support. But, the ultimate winner is Aditya Sarpotdar. He really stands tall, for his effective presentation style, in this story based and suspense filled film.

Movie Review by: Ulhas Shirke

Few years ago we saw a Hindi movie ‘1942 A Love Story’, wherein we witnessed an impressive musical love story, taking place in the midst of India’s fight for independence. Similarly, in the latest released new Marathi film ‘Pyar Vali Love Story’ , produced by Inder Raj Kapoor, Rekha Jayant Joshi, Deepak Pandurang Rane, we find a musical love story, which is set on the backdrop of 1992 communal riots in Mumbai.

The film takes you on the sets of two ‘chawls’ supposed to be located somewhere in Mumbai. Both these chawls are shown adjacent to each other, one having Hindu and the other having Muslim inhabitants. Aalia (Sai Tamhankar), stays with her parents (Ila Bhate, Nagesh Bhosale) and her brother Kaderbhai (Upendra Limaye), who indulges in street fights at a slightest provocation. But, he always has the strong support of his die hard Hindu friend ‘Pashya’ (Sameer Dharmadhikari). Then there’s a foul mouthed, but still lovable, Nandini (Urmila Kanetkar-Kothare), who is in love with Pashyabhai , and wants to marry him. Kaderbhai, who treats her as his sister, supports her. And soon we see the marriage of Pashyabhai and Nandini taking place.

Amar, (Swapnil Joshi), Pashya’s younger brother, who comes down to Mumbai for the wedding , coincidentally meets his love interest, Aalia, and it is love at first sight for him. Just when romance is budding between them, we notice a twist. Aalia’s father (a police constable) fixes her ‘Nikaah’ with his boss, police inspector, Alam, (Chinmay Mandlekar), who accidentally gets killed on the ‘Nikaah’ day. Kaderbhai suspects, it as a deliberate act by Amar, as he is aware of Amar’s affair with his sister.
Sai tamhankar
Kaderbhai vows to take revenge, which necessitates enmity with his best friend Pashya. In the meantime, Amar and Aliya run away from this riot affected place and take shelter elsewhere. And that widens the enmity between kaderbhai and Pashyabhai. Finally, all of them assemble at one place for the concluding dramatic scene of the film.

The story by Sanjay Jadhav is simple, with a clear intention of presenting intense love story. The Screenplay of the film sometimes gets wobbly, but dialogues are noticeably brilliant at some points. Most of the dialogues are in Hindi, without hampering the process of story telling. Violin pieces used in the background music try to generate romantic atmosphere. The music director trio AmitRaj, Pankaj Padgham, Samir Saptiskar, have tried to make this film more musical; but, only one song ‘Jara jara..’ is impressive. Cinematographer Prasad Bhende has cleverly captured the essence of the 90s. Art direction of Manohar Jadhav is not so impressive, as the sets of the film look average and artificial.

Director Sanjay Jadhav has given a treatment to this film, like any other Hindi commercial movie ,by packing romance, drama, emotions, comedy, fights, song and dance routines, all together. Ila Bhate, Nagesh Bhosale, Chinmay Mandlekar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, have done their jobs effectively. Upendra Limaye should have toned down his facial tissue movements. Urmila Kanetkar-Kothare has turned a scene stealer in the first half. Sai Tamhankar has an exhilarating screen presence and with each film she is turning out to be a still better performer. Swapnil Joshi can easily be called Shahrukh Khan of Marathi films, given the number of romantic films he is featuring in. He has done a swell job using the right amount of emotions.

Movie Review by: Keerti Kadam

Until recently, Marathi cinema was concentrated upon limited subjects like family dramas, Tamasha, comedy and politics. But the new Marathi films are now attempting a variety of topics, such as farmers’ suicides (Gabhricha Paus), pains and gains of college life (Duniyadari) adult love (Premachi Goshta) and Prem Mhanaje Prem Mhanaje Prem Asate ), social injustice and oppression (Jogwa Dhag and Fandry), success story of a mentally challenged girl (Yellow), youths involvement with underworld (Rege) etc. The new film ‘Por Bazaar’ has touched upon yet another new subject, of ‘child trafficking’. With an ‘Item’ song choreographed and filmed beautifully on the current heartthrob Swapnil Joshi ‘Por Bazaar’ opens up with increasing expectations about the film.

It’s a story of five youngsters, who enjoy bunking classes from college and often frequent lonely places together, on the outskirts of the city. On one such gallivanting session, they accidentally come across a forlorn bungalow and sense some dubious activities around it. When they attempt to find out, they are shocked to know that lots of young children are there in captive state. Upon discussing the matter with their professor, they are still astonished to know that it’s a case of child trafficking, which is second largest racket in the crime world, wherein children are molested, used for illegal drugs delivery, begging, sexual abuse etc. In the absence of getting genuine police help, they decide to help those helpless children, on their own. They are ultimately able to launch their own rescue operation and are successful in the venture, after conquering over the villain.
Satya Manjrekar Sakhil Parchure

The plot sounds very easy and has been shown in the film in the same easy and simple manner, although in real life it could be the contrary. In fact, the story idea is brilliant, but fails to create the desired impact on screen. First half of the film gives the feel of a documentary. Director Manava Naik, who has a degree in film making from New York Film Academy, has kept the story telling simple and straight forward without using any gimmicks. The movie had initially created a buzz, due to involvement of the offspring of famous Marathi film stars, debuting in it.

‘Por Bazaar’ has been presented by Video Palace and Ashwini Darekar and produced by ARD Entertainment. Mahesh Manjrekar’s son, Satya, who has portrayed today’s ‘headphone plugged’, ‘minimal conversation’ youth, quite nicely. Atul Parchure’s daughter, Sakhil shows promise and the director should have used her tomboyish character more effectively in the climax. Swarangi, grand daughter of Ram Marathe, has essayed, with enthusiasm, today’s college pair, along with Anurag Warlikar. Manoj Joshi’s son Dharmaj is effective in lighter moments.
 Ankush Chaudhari

Ankush Chaudhary, playing a baddy, uses his Base voice to create villainous effect. Sai Tamhankar, who plays a college professor helping her students in their endeavour, displays required maturity of the character and steals the show in all the frames. Prajakta Dighe, Swanand Kirkire (yes, the same), Chitra Nawathe, do their jobs with ease. Chinmayee Sumeet looks convincing in a doting yet worrisome mother of today’s young children. Music director Shailendra Barve has very well adorned the beautiful lyrics of Guru Thakur, especially the first and last song. Background score is appropriate and suits the situations, also DOP Dhananjay Kulkarni is successful in capturing right mood of the movie.

Overall, ‘Por Bazaar’ fails to live up to the expectations initially created by the film. However, its theme of ‘children saving children;s lives’ is to be appreciated.

Story: Swapnil Gangurde
Music: Avinash – Vishwajeet
Cast: Sai Tamhankar, Upendra Limaye, Sulabha Arya, Vidhita Kale, Rajiv Hede, Sushant Nayak
Genre: Romantic, Drama
Movie Review by: Sanskruti Bhatkar

Director Girish Mohite has in the past given much talked about films on distinctive subjects like ‘Hi Porgi Kunachi’, ‘Be Dune Sade Char’, ‘Pratibimba’ and ‘Bharatiya’. ‘Guru Pournima’ is the first romantic love story directed by Girish Mohite. Produced by Meghna Caculo under Srihit Production’s, the film has been picturised at Goa.

Guru-Pournima is a love story of a Creative Director- Guru and a struggling actress Pournima, who is ambitious and leaves her parents and family, to pursue her acting career. In this film, Sai Tamhankar has played a double role, that of Guru’s wife and daughter .

The film begins with the flashback of Guru’s( Upendra Limaye), love story which happens twenty years back. After 20 years , Guru is shown sitting on tha college platform, refreshing his sweet memories. Guru who was in the past, an aspiring director, makes a telefilm. It is during this period Guru and Pournima’s (Sai Tamhankar) love story begins and grows . Her parents do not allow her to work in the film and she disobeys them and leaves home. Then, Guru and his mother ask her to stay with them. Guru’s mother ( Sulabha Arya ) and his friend Prasad , suggest them to get married . two years later, when Pournima is at the peak of her career, Guru and his mother ask Pournima to consider having a baby, but she refuses. After being convinced by Guru, she is then ready to have a baby. At the same time, she gets an offer from Hollywood film maker, but she has to leave the offer, due to her pregnancy. After delivering the baby, she leaves her family for her career and struggles a lot for her ambition.

Sai Tamhankar Upendra In Guru Pournima

After 20 years, when Guru’s daughter Akanksha ( Sai Tamhankar in double role ), celebrates her 20th birthday and her Aajji, (grandmother) tells her about her parents; Akanksha decides to bring them together. She requests her father to cast her as a co-actress, along with Pournima, in the new ad film, being made by Guru. When Pournima comes to know that her daughter is her co-artist in this ad film, she walks out of the film. How the daughter finally brings the family together, is to be seen in the concluding part of the film.

Sai and Upendra have for the first time come together and there is a good chemistry between them. The whole film has been shot in Panjim, Goa. Nice locations, good script by Swapnil Gangurde , a melodius song ‘Aikavi Watate’ sung by Swapnil Bandodkar and Bela Shende and above all, the excellent acting performances of Sai Tamhankar, Upendra Limaye and Sulabha Arya, are the plus points of the film.

‘Guru Pournima’ is a simple and lovable love story. A person of any age can enjoy this movie.
