Trailer of ‘Sarja’ released, featuring Tushar Nagargoje, Jyoti Shetsandi, Aishwarya Bhalerao
The songs of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Sarja’ which were released along with the film’s first look, have already become popular. Now, the trailer of this film, which shows the glimpse of the story is also being appreciated. Presented by Rajvardhan Films Creation, ‘Sarja’ is produced by Amit Jaipal Patil and co-produced by Ramesh Rangrao Lad and Abhay Singh Manikrao Hande Patil.This musical film is directed by Dhananjay Manohar Khandale. Actor Rohit Chavan and Aishwarya Bhalerao will debut through this film. Although , this film presents a romantic love story, according to the makers, it will be seen trying to shed light on various elements of the society and the issues related to them.
Director Dhananjay Khandale feels that although many love stories have come on the big screen so far, the story of ‘Sarja’ would be truly unique. “Love is a feeling that cannot be bound by any restrictions. Love has the power to overcome any adversity. Khandale has also expressed the hope that the love story in ‘Sarja’ presents a new definition of love, and it will win the hearts of the fans through music.”
Besides directing, Dhananjay Khandale has also written story, screenplay, dialogue writing and lyrics. The other artistes of ‘Sarja’ are, stars Anil Nagarkar, Tushar Nagargoje, Akash Petkar, Jyoti Shetasandhi, Jagannath Ghadge, Vishnu Kedar, Prashant Pise, child artist Gauri Khandale, Kunal Gaikwad, Sania Mulani. Harshit Abhiraj has given music and background score. Cinematography is done by DOP Rahul Motling and the editing is by Subodh Narkar. ‘Sarja’ will be released on April 14 all over Maharashtra.

It is for this reason that many writers-directors are sometimes tempted and determined to present love stories on the silver screen. Now, Marathi film lovers will get to see a musical love story in the upcoming Marathi film ‘Sarjaa‘. According to makers of this rural based film, audience will get to see aspects of love that have never been in the limelight. Recently the first poster of this film was launched through social media.
Presented by Rajvardhan Films Creation, ‘Sarja’ is produced by Amit Jaipal Patil and co-produced by Ramesh Rangrao Lad. Directed by Dhananjay Manohar Khandagale, who has also written story, screenplay and dialogues of this film. The story takes place in a village with a purely rural background. Although there is no big Marathi star in the lead role in ‘Sarja’, it is succeeding in creating curiosity in the minds of the fans.
Speaking about his film, director Dhananjay Khandagale said , “ This is a real feel-good film. Each of these characters will relate to everyone who sees it. Along with the love story, various other aspects have been dealt in it. The dream of presenting a musical love story to the Marathi audience in the form of ‘Sarja’ has been made possible by Harshit-Abhiraj’s experimental and melodious music. Our entire team has tried to present a perfect entertaining movie to the audience in the form of ‘Sarja’.
Music composers Harshit-Abhiraj, who are currently in the limelight with the film ‘Raundal’, after making a name for themselves with the music-oriented film ‘Baban’, have given melodious music for ‘Sarjaa‘. In this film, Anil Nagarkar, Rohit Chavan, Tushar Nagargoje, Aishwarya Bhalerao, Aakash Petkar, Jyoti Shetsandhi, Jagannath Ghadage, Vishnu Kedar, Prashant Pise, Child Artist Gauri Khandagale, Kunal Gaikwad and other actors have played various characters. The film will be released on April 14 across Maharashtra.
Pooja Pawar Salunkhe makes a comeback to Marathi films
When she made her debut in Marathi films through ‘Sarjaa’ she was only 16 years old and then studying in New college , Kolhapur. Pooja Pawar was then very active through entertainment programmes in her college and had also been selected as the ‘welcome girl’ for the tableau presented by the NCC wing for Maharashtra state, at the Republic Day celebrations.
After the release of ‘Sarjaa’, it was a struggle for this newcomer; but then, she successfully found roles in films of well known film makers like Rajdutt, Dr. Jabbar Patel, Mahesh Kothare, Vikram Gokhale, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Kundan Shah and others. Those days, she had twenty plus block busters like – ‘Topi Var Topi’, ‘Chikat Nana’, ‘Ek Hota Vidushak’, ‘Vishvavinayak’ to name a few.
Now, Year 2014, seems to be her year of comeback after so many years. Very recently, her film ‘Headline’ was released. And now, her next film ‘Gondan’ is due for release in the first week of August 2014. Produced by Ashish keskar and directed by Vinika P. this film is a story of Mother and daughter and is set on the backdrop of a Lavani dancer. In this film, Pooja has plenty of scope to deliver variety through her role, as there is also a song picturised on her baithak lavani performance. Her daughter’s role in this film is played by Pooja Sawant.
MarathiMovieWorld met this talented actress, during the launch and announcement of new Marathi film ‘Yashwanti’, which will be the first film in Marathi on adventure, with an animated historic character, being part of the film. Pooja is playing an important role in this film. Excerpts from a short interview :
Q: You are making a comeback to Marathi films, after a long break. Isn’t it ?
A: Yes, I had taken a long break after my marriage. Then, it was time to look after my little daughters. Now, that they are grown up, I thought that it was the right time for me to resume my work. Luckily, I am finding suitable roles.
Q: How do you look at the change in Marathi film industry? I mean, the struggle of artistes in finding suitable roles?
A: Struggle was there that time and even now. After my first film ‘Sarjaa’, even I struggled to find roles. And, now while making a comeback, there is struggle once again. It is almost like starting a fresh innings.
Q: 25 years ago, you came from Kolhapur and now after so many years, we find another talented actress from Kolhapur – Usha Jadhav, winning national award for her performance in the film ‘Dhag’. How do you react ?
A: I feel proud that girls from Kolhapur are doing well in Marathi entertainment industry. Winning a national award is something special.
Q: Heard a lot about your role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Gondan’. Could you please tell us something about it ?
A: ‘Gondan’ is a good story based film, which revolves around a mother and her daughter. In this film, my character has variety of shades, giving ample scope to acting. There is also a Lavani song picturised on me. Since my schooldays, I have taken training in Kathak under master Prakash Kulkarni, a well-known dance master in Kolhapur. I am glad that even now, I am finding suitable roles.
