We have seen many new faces entering Marathi entertainment industry from far off places like Nashik, Sangli, Solapur, Vidarbha regions of Maharashtra, thus breaking the monopoly of Mumbai and Pune during the past few years. And we should also not forget the places like Navi Mumbai, Karjat, Dombivali & Kalyan from where budding artistes have travelled to Mumbai in crowded local trains. The celebrated television actress Pratiksha Sable is one of them.
An alumni of CRM Oak High School and Birla College Kalyan, Pratiksha is all set to rise in the Marathi entertainment industry. Pratiksha Sable has already won lot of acclaim for her TV Shows like ‘Aakashjhep‘ with Subodh Bhave and then she ventured into theatre with a social drama and a bio-pic ‘Jyoti Savitri‘ for which she won a Best Actress nomination in 2015 from ZEE MARATHI and award from Sanskriti Kala Darpan.
Pratiksha Sable has performed in Marathi film ‘Angaigeet‘ with Arun Nalavade in 2016. Last year she made her debut in film direction and writing with message based short film ‘Pledge- The Self Commitment‘ for which she bagged Best Short film in Mumbai Asian Short Film Festival and Best Sound . It was also screened in Goa Short Film Festival to much acclaim. Her forthcoming film include the much appreciated in the Festival Circuit ‘Copy‘ which has received awards as the best film in Sanskruti Kala Darpan 2018 and Maharashtra Rajya Chitrapat Mahotsav, Best Debut film -2018. It’s now all set to receive acclaim at the Dehra Dun Film Festival 2018 at the hands of Ramesh Sippy, the much acclaimed director. In short, this girl from Kalyan is inviting all the attention from Marathi film industry.
Girish Kulkarni’s unusual appearance in ‘Boyz 2′ item song

Known for some of his variety of roles in films like ‘Valu‘, ‘Vihir‘, ‘Pune 52‘, ‘Highway‘ in Marathi and Hindi films like ‘Ugly‘, ‘Dangal‘ & ‘Kabil‘, talented Marathi actor Girish Kulkarni will now be seen in an unusual role in forthcoming much talked about film ‘Boyz 2‘, Girish Kulkarni has performed in a ‘Todfod‘ kind of item song along with Suvarna Kale, which was seen as the highlight of this film. This song is targeted at young audience and is rendered by popular singers Mugdha Karhade, Ganesh Chandanshiv & Prasanjit Kosambi.
‘Boyz 2‘ will focus on the story of the schoolboys who are now into college life. So, the audience will once again witness the mischief of Sumant Shinde, Parth Bhalerao & Pratik Lad in part 2 also. Directed by Vishal Deorukhkar the film is presented by Eros International and Everest Entertainment in association with Avadhoot Gupte. The presenters have also planned to distribute this film at international level, when it will be officially released on 5th October 2018.
Namrata Awate will play prominent role in ‘Salman Society’

The finalist of popular Television reality show ‘Maharashtracha Superstar‘ Namrata Awate went on to show her talent through various TV programmes, including ‘Fu Bai Fu‘. Later, she also proved her ability as an actress on big screen through films like ‘Babu Band Baja‘, ‘Ventilator‘, ‘Kiran Kulkarni v/s Kiran Kulkarni‘, & ‘Looose Control‘. Now, Namrata Awate will play a prominent role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Salman Society‘.
During the shooting of this film recently, Namrata walked in a special costume clearly indicating that she was doing a different type of role, but the makers of this film have not yet revealed the details of her character. A song ‘Party Dananali…‘ was picturised during the shooting of this film in which young artistes like Pushkar Lonarkar, Shubham More, Vinayak Potdar and Gaurav More, all popular child artistes took part. Made under the banner of Prajakta Enterprises, the film is directed by Kailsah Kashinath Pawar.
The remaining part of shooting will be held in Mumbai & Navi Mumbai and the film will be released by the end of this year in December 2018.
Makers of ‘Ahilya – Zunj Ekaki’ honoured by ‘Patrakar Sangharsh Samiti’

Amit Dinesh Bhai Patel, President of ‘Patrakar Sangharsh Samiti‘ organized the grand release function of ‘Gujarat Patrakar Directory‘ recently at Pandit Dindayal Hall, Vadodara in Gujarat. During this function, the unit of Marathi film ‘Ahilya – Zunj Ekaki‘ from Mumbai were specially invited. These invitees included producer Sridhar Chari, director Raju Parsekar, lyricist Nitin Tendulkar & Actor Rohit Sawant who were also honoured at the function. Their Marathi film ‘Ahilya – Zunj Ekaki‘ is slated for release soon. Stalwarts like Shri Vrajraj Kumar Maharaj, Shri Suchetan Swami, Shastri Nayanbhai Joshi, socialist Dilip Patel, art director Chetan Chudasama and many other well-known celebrities were present on this occasion.
Renowned director Raju Parsekar known for his hit films like ‘Laathi Charge‘, ‘Teen Baika Fajiti Aaika‘, ‘Saat Naa Gat‘ amongst others, including successful television serials like ‘Hum Sub Ek Hain‘, ‘Man Mein Vishwas Hai‘,’Saheb Biwi And T.V.‘ was excited about his upcoming Marathi film, ‘Ahilya – Zunj Ekaki‘. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “This film is on woman empowerment. Today in our country any girl or woman can achieve the desired goal whether she belongs from a village or a city. It is just that they have to sincerely desire of their achievement “. In this film ‘Ahilya..’ Pritam Kagne has played the title role with much deftness. The film is produced by Sridhar Chari.
Pravin Tarde’s dance in ‘Mulshi Pattern’ goes viral on social media

We have often seen item numbers performed by actresses becoming popular during the promotion of a particular Marathi film. We have also seen some item numbers performed by male actors becoming equally popular in Bollywood. But now, actor- director Pravin Tarde has performed a so called Bhai item song ‘Ara ra ra,ararara ..khatarnak‘ in his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Mulshi Pattern‘. And surprisingly, this song has become viral on social media.
Till now, Pravin Tarde has established himself as a popular character actor and director through Marathi films. Now, through this dance number he will be recognised as a dancer too. Choreographer Umesh Jadhav seems to have taken extra efforts during picturisation of this dance sequence and Narendra Bhide‘s music has also added that required rhythm into this song. Presented by Abhijit Bhosale, the theme of this film throws light on the problems faced by farmers and is based on the crimes taking place in a village.
‘Amar Photo Studio’ team offer help to ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund’ for Kerala

In the past we have seen many celebrities coming forward to raise funds for charity during natural calamities. Recently, we saw devastating floods in Kerala disrupting the life over there at many places. Thereafter we saw various appeals made by voluntary agencies and administration to forward help to Kerala. Recently. ‘Kalakarkhana‘ and ‘Subak‘ Drama Groups in Marathi had organised two shows of their ongoing popular play ‘Amar Photo Studio‘ at Thane and Borivali to raise funds to help the people in Kerala.
Adding some more amount from their side the makers of this play handed over the sum of Rs. One lakh One thousand to Mr. Devendra Fadnavis chief Minister of Maharashtra recently for ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund‘ for Kerala. This was a fine gesture from their side and Mr. Sunil Barve and Amey Wagh were personally present to hand over this amount to Maharashtra CM.
Spruha’s husband Varad Laghate to make his debut in Marathi films

We are all aware that Spruha Joshi married Varad Laghate a marketing professional five years ago, whom she knew 5 years before her marriage. Till now, we had not heard about Varad’s acting connection. But now, he will be seen making his debut through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Home Sweet Home‘ which also stars Spruha Joshi. By the way, this song is picturised in this film on Spruha and Varad has made guest appearance in this song.
Speaking about her husband’s debut Spruha said, “Varad has always been fooling with my film makers to create a role for himself in my film. One day, when he walked in during the song ‘Ikdun Tikade’ picturisation Hrishikesh seriously asked Varad whether he would do a small appearance in this song and that’s how his debut in my film was sheer coincidence. This song picturised on me, is rendered by Ajay Gogavale and being a great fan of him, I was as it is excited. And, this was doubled, with the inclusion of Varad into this song picturisation.”
Incidentally, the shooting of ‘Two States‘ was held in Varad’s office and in one of the scenes, he is noticed with his back towards the camera. So, can we say that Varad has already made his debut in a Bollywood film ?

Directed by Santosh Kolhe , this 9 minute short film stars Chhaya Kadam playing the title role along with Akshay Shimpi. The film ‘Hijada‘ covers a train journey where a commuter gets upset and loses his temper, when a Hijada begs for money, after approaching him.

World famous ‘Aajinchi Shala’ now on Big Screen

There are many people in our society who are unable to complete their school education. Most of them are women. But, they always have a desire within to complete their school education. Written by Journalist turned film writer Ashish Ningurkar, this is his second film as a film writer after offering a successful film ‘Rairand‘ which received attention at many festivals. Incidentally, Ashish has also written the story of another Marathi film ‘Ek Hota Pani‘, which is due for release. ‘Aajinchi Shala‘ film will be directed by Yusuf Khan, who has worked as assistant to film maker Remo D’souza and has also worked as assistant director for ‘Race-3‘. Speaking to Marathimovieworld Ashish said that, “he was fortunate to have a talented director Yusuf Khan to give cinematic form to his story“.
