People in Maharashtra have received great inspiration from the Great Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj .Many feature films in the past have received very good response, including the TV serial on Shivaji Maharaj. So, why not an animated film? This is what Infinity Visuals and Maffack arts thought and with the help of Ganaraj Associates they will be presenting their animated film Prabho Shivaji Raja‘, which will be a tribute the great warrior of India.

Directed by Nilesh Muley, this animated film is written by Samir Mulye and the screenplay and some dialogues are penned by renowned historian Ninad Bedekar. Many names from the Marathi film industry are connected with this project and prominent among them are Sachin Khedekar and Sudesh Bhosale, who have played narrators. Well Known playback singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Nandesh Umap, Udesh Umap, Swapnil Bandodkar & Shrirang Bhave have rendered their voices for the songs in ‘Prabho Shivaji Raja‘ film. Highlight of the film ‘Prabho Shivaji Raja‘ is that actors Umesh Kamat and Dharmendra Gohil have given their voice for Shivaji Maharaj. Lyrics by Prakash Rane and music by Bharat Balawally are the other credits. This 100 minute long animated film will be released on 12th January 2018.

‘Runji’ fame Pallavi Patil to return on small screen with ‘Baapmanus’

Forthcoming Marathi serial ‘Baapmanus’ on Zee Yuva has been creating a buzz on social networking sites. Thanks to the efforts made by actor Suyash Tilak, who is also part of this serial in an important role. Another highlight of this serial is return of ‘Runji’ serial fame Pallavi Patil who will also be seen in a lead role. It may be recalled that Pallavi had won the hearts of thousands of home viewers earlier, playing the title role of Runji. The talented actress will now be returning to small screen, with another challenging role, to prove her mettle.

Besides Pallavi and Suyash, this serial also stars versatile artistes like Ravindra Mankani, Pooja Pawar, Ajay Purkar, Sangram Samel, Sanjay Kulkarni, Shivraj Valvekar, & Namrata Awte in lead roles. Along with them there are other artistes like Abhijit Shwetchandra, Aishwarya Tupe, Abhilasha Patil, Anand Prabhu, Shruti Atre, Jyoti Patil, Amol Deshmukh and child artiste Maithili Patwardhan. Set on the backdrop of Kolhapur, the serial will present the journey of a simple man who influences every person in the family and also those coming in contact with him, with his principles and behaviour.The serial will begin soon on Zee Yuva channel from Monday to Saturday at 8.30 pm.

 

Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Spandan’ to highlight family values

To practice family values, the proper upbringing of a person during childhood is very important. As you sow, so shall you reap.  Based on this philosophy, producers Shailesh Kulkarni, Dattatray Nalawade and Phadtare Group and writer director Shailesh Kulkarni will be presenting their new Marathi film ‘Spandan-What is relationship?’, which is all set to release on 15th December 2017.

Due to increase in use of social network now days, family members have lost contact and interactions with each other. And, this is the central theme of this film, which tells the story of three generations.  Along with Mohan Joshi, Avinash Narkar, Sagar Karande , the film will present  new artistes Prasanna Pawar, Vaishali Shah and Shailesh Kulkarni. A special guest appearance is made by write r& poet Sandeep Khare. Cinematography is by Prashant Sonawane, NIshant Bhagwat , music by Anamik Chauhan and editing is by Ajit Bherde are the other credits.

‘Ghaat’ brings Umesh & Mitalee together for the first time

Umesh Jagtap and Mitalee Jagtap have always remained away from limelight in spite of performing on stage, television and films . Both of them have portrayed variety of roles in these three mediums of acting . Mitalee has also won National award for her performance in the film Babu Band Bajaa. At the same time, Umesh has also established himself as an actor to be reckoned for all types of roles. Now, both these talented artistes will be seen together in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Ghaat’ which is all set to release on 15th December 2017.

 While Mitalee plays the role of Vimal, Umesh plays the negative character of Jaggu, which are different from the roles they have played till now.  Speaking about his role in this film, Umesh said that it was his privilege to play this type of negative role of an irresponsible husband of a woman who works hard to educate her child and provide shelter to the family. Mitalee too is highly impressed by her character in this film. The film also stars two child artistes Yash Kulkarni and Dattatray Dharme in important  roles. Riya Gavli is also performing in this film. Written and directed by Raj Gorde, the cinematography of this film is by Amol Gole.

TV star Dhanashree Kadgaonkar to play lead role in the film ‘Chithhi’

Popular TV star Dhanashree Kadgaonkar who has made a strong impact on home viewers with variety of roles played in different Marathi TV serials, including the negative role in ongoing serial ‘Tujhyat Jeev Rangala’, is all set to play lead role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Chithhi’. Produced by Vishal Dange and directed by Vaibhav Kaluram Dange, this  film is all set to release in January 2018.Recently, the teaser poster of this film was launched on social media.

 The film presents the story penned by Swarda Burse and Sujay Jadhav which talks about a letter written by a youngster to his girlfriend, which doesn’t reach her. So, where this letter goes, has been humorously presented through the screenplay of this film. Dhanashree who plays the girl next door type of character in this film, is playing this lead role opposite newcomer Shubhankar Ekbote. Speaking about this film, Dhanashree said that this role was offered to her by writer Swarda Burse, who asked her to give audition for this role  and was selected on the basis of it. “It was a pleasure working with director Vaibhav Dange and other artistes of this film,” she said.

After a break of two weeks, now a new Marathi film is being released all over Maharashtra on 15th December 2017. Produced by Madhukar Tayade, Vaishal Vahurwagh, Amol Vasu and directed by Rajesh Jadhav ‘Chalu Dya Tumcha‘ will be offering social message through entertainment. The film shows how with the spread of Globalisation in rural areas, how a common man is forgetting his basic needs and how some selfish people with the greed of earning money are cheating others. The film’s story presents the fight against injustice to inspire one and all.

According to the makers of ‘Chalu Dya Tumcha‘ film, they have paid more attention on selection of artistes to suit all the characters and all of them have given full justice to their selection. The film stars Milind Gunaji, Vijay Kadam, Sandeep Phatak, Nisha Parulekar, Megha Ghadge, Ajay Jadhav, Umesh Mitkari, Vaishali Chandorkar, Sudhir Sinha, Dipjyoti Naik, Swapnil Borkar, & Kamala Adib. Mr. Vijay Patkar, Jairaj Nair, Rahul Tayade & Mira Joshi will be seen in guest appearance. Director Rajesh Jadhav has himself written the story and screenplay of ‘Chalu Dya Tumcha‘ film, while the dialogues are by Sambhaji Sawant. Music by Madhu Bosale, Anurag – Chinmay and Cinepatography by Raja Phadtare are the other credits.

Big expectations from Mukta and Priya starrer film ‘Aamhi Doghi’

We are all aware of the capability of actress Mukta Barve, when she performs before camera or on the stage. Her outstanding performance in  national award winning film Jogwa is still fresh in our memory. At the same time, how can we forget the splendid performance of actress Priya Bapat in another popular awards winning film Kaksparsh‘? So, when these two talented actress are working together in the same film, it becomes a big news and there are big expectations from such a film.

Incidentally, both Mukta Barve & Priya Bapat are working together in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Aamhi Doghi. The first poster of this film was unveiled recently, with the announcement of film’s release date as 16th February 2018.  Highlight of this women oriented film is the debut of Pratima Joshi as director.  Pratima has worked as actress, costume designer and assistant director till now and this film will open new innings for her. Speaking about her film, Pratima Joshi said that this film’s story  will touch the hearts of every young woman and they will feel it as their own story.  Everest Entertainment’s Sanjay Chhabriya who is producing and presenting  this film , feels that this film will be a treat to Marathi film lovers.

Zee Talkies’ popular comedy show ‘Na.Sa.Te Udyog‘ has popularised in a short time. No wonder, promotions of films is taking place in this programme. Recently the team of Box Office hit film ‘Boyz‘ participated in this programme, which was telecast on Sunday 3rd December 2017. Incidentally, the television premiere of this film will be held on Sunday 24th December 2017 at 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm in two shows for home viewers.

Producer Nitin Vaidya returns with ‘Gachchi’

After producing action comedy ‘Ghanta‘ last year, producer Nitin Vaidya has returned with his next film ‘Gachchi‘, which is all set to release on 22nd December 2017. ‘Gachchi‘ which means terrace in English, is one such place that connects every individual, if he or she has to recall the past memories. The film showcases two strangers, who by chance meet on a terrace. And then, the film offers an entertaining tussle between the two, after this accidental encounter.

Recently, the first look of ‘Gachchi‘ film was unveiled, which showed the lead pair Abhay Mahajan and Priya Bapat as the two radically opposite individuals coming together to form an unlikely companionship. Now, it remains to be seen whether director Nachiket Samant will succeed in inviting good audience response, when the film is released in theatres unfolding the film’s complete story. Will this be a good Christmas vacation gift for the college students ?

‘Kshitij’ receives ICFT UNESCO Gandhi award at IFFI

Known for their scripts on social and realistic subjects, Marathi films have been receiving appreciation at various international film festivals across the globe. Now, one more Marathi film has been inviting attention at different international film festivals, before its official release in theatres. Produced by Navroz Prasala and directed by Manoj kadam ‘Kshitij A Horizon‘ has just received ICFT UNESCO Gandhi award at the International Film Festival of India in Goa.

At this 48th IFFI , ‘Kshitij‘ was shortlisted among the 9 best films in the final round and received this prestigious award. This film has already received appreciation at other international festivals. In USA at the Indian Film Festival held at Houston the film had won Best Feature award and before that at the Cape town festival director Manoj Kadam received Best New Film director award. ‘Kshitij‘ also received appreciation at Global Migration International Film festival at Switzerland and now has been selected for screening at the Hyderabad International film festival. It has received nomination at the Kolkatta film festival and has been selected for screening at the forthcoming Third Eye Int. Film festival scheduled to be held in Mumbai. So, all eyes on ‘Kshitij‘.
