Aniket Vishwasrao declares Ashok Saraf as his Guru

Every year on the auspicious Guru Pournima day, many successful artistes from the film industry remember their Guru by paying tributes to them. Some visit them personally to seek their blessings, while some others express their feelings through the new trend of social networking sites. Actor Aniket Vishwasrao expressed his feelings for his Guru on social networking site through a letter.
Aniket has addressed this letter to Ashokmama i.e. Ashok Saraf who is popularly known with this name. In this letter, Aniket has stated that ever since he started watching films, he has considered Mr. Ashok Saraf as his real hero. And since then he has considered him as his Guru. According to Aniket , Mr. Saraf is the best comedian he has seen so far, with a perfect timing for comedy. Incidentally, Aniket had an opportunity to work with the legendary Marathi actor in the film ‘Lapun Chhapun’.
“After working with him in second film ‘Aandhali Koshimbir’ Ashok Mama had praised my comedy in this film and this compliment was more than an award for me.” says Aniket proudly.
Trupti Toradmal to make her acting debut in Marathi films

Daughter of renowned Marathi writer- actor Late Madhukar Toradmal, Trupti Toradmal will be making her acting debut in Marathi films through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe‘. Based on a true story this film is a cinematic version of popular Marathi play ‘Savita Damodar Paranjape‘. The film is produced by popular Bollywood actor John Abraham and is directed by Swapna Waghmare Joshi.
The lead role in this film played by Trupti was earlier played by Late actress Reema Lagoo in the play with the same name. Trupti has worked very hard to modulate her voice according to different situations in the screenplay, to play this important role. Having been experienced with theatre, this role was a big challenge before Trupti and the makers of this film feel that she has given her best. Trupti herself is very much satisfied with her role.
Ashok Shinde and Nivedita Saraf launch music of ‘Dostigiri’

Both Ashok Shinde and Nivedita Saraf have been associated with Marathi films for more than 30 years now. They have performed lead roles in many films. Now, they play important character roles in films and TV serials. Recently, both of them together launched the music of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dostigiri‘ in the capacity of guests of honour. Incidentally. Both Ashok and Nivedita are playing on screen parents of the young lead hero of the film Sanket Pathak.
Overwhelmed by the presence of his on screen parents for the launch of his film’s music, Sanket said, “ It is a memorable moment for me, as my on screen parents are present to bless me on this happy occasion. While shooting for this film, I found very good friends in my co stars Akshay Waghmare, Vijay Gite, Pooja Jaiswal & Pooja Malekar.”
Speaking about the intense friendship shown in this film, Nivedita Saraf recalled her friendship with her co star Ashok Shinde, which she said has lasted for about 30 years now. “It is my privilege to shar the dais with him on this happy occasion,” she added. Also present on the occasion were music directors Rohan Rohan along with Prajakta Shukre, Minal Jain and kavita Ram. The film will be released all over Maharashtra on 24th August 2018.
New Marathi film ‘Rakta’ launched with muhurat

Emotions combined with action has been the new trend in Marathi cinema. And going with this trend is the story of new Marathi film ‘Rakta‘, which was launched with muhurat recently in Mumbai. The film presents the story of a mother and her son. The one liner of the film’s story is that a mother can take care of even 10 children but the ten children together cannot take care of their mother.
The hero of this film is Vishwas Mhatre who treats versatile actor Nana Patekar as his idol. Gauri Wankhede is the lead actress of this film, who has been selected through audition. Producer Chintu Singh is very much excited about his film’s subject and is confident that his film besides offering entertainment will be on par with a south Indian action film. Also produced and directed by Payal Lohi, the film will be shot at the locations of Ratnagiri and Goa.
‘Pipsi’ is all set for release on 27th July

The trailer of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Pipsi‘ was shown to the media persons before the press show of a Marathi film recently, indicating that the film was all set for release on 27th July 2018. Produced by Vidhi kasliwal , written by Saurabh Bhave and directed by Rohan Deshpande, this film presents an emotion based story of two children Chaani( Maithili Patwardhan) and Baalu( Sahil Joshi) who live in a remote village in Maharashtra.
Incidentally, the film has been screened at various international film festivals and has received good response for the past few months. The two child artistes have also won awards for their performance at the state awards. Recently, at the Prague Int Film festival the film won the Special Jury award, thus raising big hopes from this film. The film also stars Ajay Jadhav, Atul Mahale, Abhilasha Patil and Pooja Nayak in important roles.

‘Adam Tadam’ wins ‘E Natyashodh’ one act play competition

The second ‘E – Natyashodh Multilingual One Act Play competition‘ was dominated by Marathi plays. The first prize was won by ‘Adam Tadam‘ presented by Dombivali’s Swami Natyagan and written- directed by Rajesh Shinde, while the second prize was won by ‘Anaesthesia‘ written by Dr. Chandrashekhar and directed by Srinivas Narvekar. The special Jury award went to Bangalore’s Hindi play ‘Panchi‘, while the Critics award went to Marathi one act play ‘Dehasakta‘ directed by Nashik’s Poonam Patil.
The competition was held in four languages, Marathi, English, Hindi and Gujarathi and 24 entries were technically eligible out of which 9 one act plays were shortlisted for the final round. According to Ravi Mishra , head of Astitva, the intention of this competition is to preserve the one act plays and to enlighten the new generation with the technical aspects.
