6th Superhit Marathi film festival in Pune
The 6th Superhit Marathi film festival is all set to begin from 22nd May 2026 and will conclude on 24th May 2026. Many prominent personalities from Marathi film industry are expected to be present during this film festival. For the past five years, this film festival has provided a platform to new experiments tried by film makers in Marathi film industry.
This year’s film festival will also feature some old classic films like Jait Re Jait, Tighee, Gondhal and Dashavtaar. There will also be panel discussions,interaction with directors and artistes. Renowned artistes and film makers like Mahesh Manjrekar, Girish Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash , Shivraj Waichal, Siddharth Jadhav will be attending this festival.
Highlight of the festival will be the presence of renowned veteran actress Suhas Joshi, who will be conferred with this year’s Lifetime achievement award, for her contribution to Marathi film industry for the past five decades.
According to Ms. Nisha Narayanan, CEO of Red FM, the regional stories should reach to a bigger cultural platform , will be our aim while holding this festival.
Suhas Joshi performes action scenes at the age of 77
At the age of 77 veteran Marathi film actress Suhas Joshi has performed action scenes in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Gadi No. 1760′. Ms. Joshi refused to use a duplicate for this particular action scene in this film. And her decision to to do so, inspired everybody present on the set, including the writer- director of this film Yogiraj Sanjay Gaikwad.
Recently, the trailer of this film was also released clearly indicating that this film will be presenting entertainment filled with twists and turns through its screenplay. The film stars Prathamesh Parab, Shubhankar Tawde, Priyadarshini Indalkar along with Prasad Khandekar, Suhas Joshi, Shashank Shende, Shrikant Yadav and others in lead roles .
Fun filled teaser of ‘Gaadi Number 1760′ released
A comedy combined with suspense and twists in the screenplay, is a guaranteed success formula of Marathi films, when it comes to total entertainment. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Gaadi Number 1760′ , produced by Kailash Soradi and Vimla Soradi and directed by Yogiraj Sanjay Gaikwad, is based on this entertaining formula.
Recently, the teaser of this film was released, which has generated more curiosity among Marathi film lovers, about a missing bag filled with money. This film is getting ready for release on 4th July 2025. ‘Hee Anokhi Gaath’ trailer released
After releasing the first poster few days ago, Writer- director Mahesh Manjrekar has released the trailer of his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hee Anokhi Gaath’ recently. Starring Shreyas Talpade, Gauri Ingavale, Rishi Saxena, Sharad Ponkshe and Suhas Joshi in lead roles, the film will be released on 9th March 2024. The film is presented by Zee Studios along with Mahesh Manjrekar.
Speaking about this film actor Shreyas Talpade says, “ Now days, we are missing good love stories. And therefore, when Mahesh Dada approached with the story of this film, I immediately agreed to do it. Mahesh Dada does very selective films and his subjects are always different For me, working with him and Zee Studios was a wonderful experience. I am sure the film lovers would like this unique love story.”
Ajitdada Pawar launches Poster of ‘Aathvani’
Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Mr. Ajitdada Pawar in presence of other dignitaries like M.P. Ms. Supriya Sule, MLA’s Jayantrao Patil, Mr. Dilip Valse Patil The entire team of the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Aathvani’ had approached Ajit dada for his blessings and he obliged them in presence of other dignitaries, by launching the poster of their film.
Directed by Siddhant Ashok Sawant the poster of this film displays veteran artistes Dr. Mohan Agashe and Ms. Suhas Joshi along with lead artistes Surhud Wardekar and Vaishnavi Karmarkar. The film also stars Ninad Sawant in supporting role . The poster also indicates complications in relationship, selfless love and strong bonding between couples.So, it will be interesting to see what exactly is being offered by this film which is presented by Minash Productions and produced by Siddhant Sawant and Ashok Sawant.
This film will be released on 7th July 2023 all over Maharashtra.
Double celebration for ‘Jhimma’
Marathi film ‘Jhimma’ which was released on 19th November 2021 is celebrating 75 days successful celebration in theatres. At the same time, the film has also been released on OTT platform and is rated as one of the best entertaining films on Amazon Prime network. This was the only Marathi film which saw the success in theatres, in spite of the restriction of 50% attendance in cinema halls.
What is good about this film is that it has been offered keeping in mind the most important factor of pure entertainment. No wonder, on the 50th day of its theatre run, the film celebrated success in 90 cinema halls. The film has already made box office collection of Rs. 14.50 Crores. Moreover, the film has also inspired many women to plan their trips joining women groups.
Speaking about his film’s success, director Hemant Dhome says, “I am really thankful to the audience for making this film a super hit. During the past two years, we faced a lot of problems but finally we have witnessed the success.”

‘Jhimma’ to release in theatres on 19th November
Teaser of Hemant Dhome directed Marathi film Jhimma‘s was released on International women’s day, indicating that the film was ready for release soon. However, due to lockdown restrictions, this film could not be released till date. Now, there is an official announcement from the makers of this film that ‘Jhimma’ will be released in theatres on 19th November 2021. This will also be the first Marathi film to be released in theatres after reopening of theatres post lockdown.
Revolving around a group of happy go lucky women from different fields, who come together to enjoy their life. Presented by Chalchitra Company , produced by Amey Vinod Khopkar and Crazy Few Films and written by Iravati karnik, this film stars Nirmiti Sawant, Suhas Joshi, Suchitra Bandekar, Kshiti Jog, Sonalee, Sayali Sanjeev, Mrinmayee Godbole along with Siddharth Chandekar. Music by Amitraj and cinematography by sanjay Memane are the other credits of this film.

But, Kshiti Jog has found this opportunity through her own production Zimma’ where she will be seen working under the direction of hubby Hemant Dhome for the first time. Till now, Kshiti has made her presence felt as a talented actress by performing variety of roles on stage, television and films. But now, she presents herself in a new role as producer as well as actress in the film ‘Jhimma’, which is directed by Hemant Dhome.
This film starring Kshiti Jog along with Nirmiti Sawant, Suhas Joshi, Sonalee, Sayali Sanjeev, Mrunmayee Godbole, Suchitra Bandekar and Siddharth Chandekar is jointly produced by Kshiti Jog along with Swati Khopkar, Ajinkya Dhamal, Viraj Gavas, Urfi Kazmi and Anupam Mishra. Amitraj has provided music of this film, while cinematography is by Sanjay Memane. Speaking about this film, kshiti says that for a long time she wanted to turn a producer but with her favourite subject. And this opportunity she had with this film.
