‘Lagna Mubarak’ teaser creates a buzz

Some films create a buzz prior to their release and forthcoming Marathi film ‘Lagna Mubarak‘ is one of them. Ever since the teaser of this film was launched, this film has become the topic of discussion among Marathi film lovers. Written and directed by the duo Chetan Chawda and Sagar Pathak this film deals with the subject of politicization of religion and caste in our society. The film is produced by Gauri Pathak and presented by Abhay Pathak and Ajinkya Jadhav and is set for release on 11th May 2018.
The music of this film is composed by Sai- Piyush & Troy- Arif . Highlight of this film is that two renowned film makers Sanjay Jadhav and Mahesh Manjrekar will be performing in ‘Lagna Mubarak‘ film as artistes. The other lead artistes of this film are, Prarthana Behere, Sanskruti Balgude, Aastad Kale, Siddhant Muley, Pravin Tarde, Milind Dastane, Ramesh Pardeshi, Devendra Gaikwad, Vandana Vaknis, Amarnath Kharade, Parth Ghatge, Chetan Chawda & Gaurav Rokade.
Sukhvinder Singh performs live during music launch of Marathi film ‘Raja’

Bollywood singers singing for Marathi films is not new. But now, these singers have also started performing live during Music release of such Marathi films. Recently, during the music release of Marathi film ‘Raja‘ Singer Sukhvinder Singh rendered the song from this film live. There were many prominent personalities from Politics, Police, administrative services and entertainment industry present on this occasion. The music of ‘Raja‘ film was released at the hands of Mr. Mahadeo Jankar, Maharashtra’s Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Development.
The film’s story is based on the life of a Pop Singer and therefore in this musical film, there are eight songs of different genres. Apart from Sukhvinder Singh, the other singers who have rendered their voices for this film are, Shaan, Udit Narayan, Rohit Raut, Saurabh Salunke, Urmila Dhangar, Sayali padghan & Milind Shinde. Music is by Pankaj Padghan. The film stars new faces like Sourdeep Kumar, Swarda Joshi & Nishita Purandare along with versatile artistes like Sharad Ponkshe, Jaywant Wadkar, Surekha Kudchi, Vineet Bonde & Pouras. Produced by Pravin Kakad & written and directed by Shashikant Deshpande, this film will be released all over Maharashtra on 25th May 2018.
Any guess about the participants in first Marathi ‘Bigg Boss’ ?

Marathi ‘Bigg Boss’ is all set to appear on Colors Marathi from 15th April @7 pm and in its first episode, the programme anchor Mahesh Manjrekar besides making his grand entry will also be announcing the names of the participants. Thereafter this programme will be telecast from Monday to Saturday @ 9.30 pm and on Sunday @ 9. Till now, the presenters of this programme have managed to maintain the secrecy about the names of the participants in this show, thus raising curiosity among the home viewers.
The biggest challenge before the presenters of this show is to invite the home viewers to watch this programme during prime time, as the ongoing IPL Cricket is already drawing a good viewership. No wonder, Mahesh Manjrekar himself is doing the ad campaign, by inviting the attention of the home viewers. In the latest ad, he was seen shaking his legs along with the dancers on a title song, which has been choreographed by Pratik Utekar. The success of the programme will, however, depend on the selection of participants and their popularity today. Will there be Nana Patekar? Sai Tamhankar? or Rakhee Sawant? Well, these are just our guesses. Let us wait for the curtain to rise on 15th April @ 7 pm.
Pushkar, Mrunal & Virajas come together to offer ‘Ti and Ti’

Pushkar Jog who made a grand debut as an actor through his home production ‘Zabardast’ directed by Mahesh Kothare, later directed his own Marathi film ‘Mission Possible’. Pushkar is now ready to play the role of a producer, under the banner of his Goosebump Entertainment. Recently, he launched the teaser poster of his new Marathi film ‘Ti and Ti’ in which he plays the lead role opposite two top actresses of Marathi film industry, Sonalee Kulkarni, and Prarthana Behere.
Another big news is that this film will be directed by actress turned director Mrunal Kulkarni, who had earlier directed films like ‘Rama Madhav’ and ‘Prem Mhanje Prem Mhanje Prem Asta‘. The story of this film is written by Mrunal’s son Virajas Kulkarni and this will be a Romcom, the favorite subject of actor turned producer Pushkar Jog. According to Pushkar, his film will have a rich classy look and will be at par with a Bollywood film. Incidentally, most portion of this film was shot in London. Other details of this film will be disclosed soon.

Mobile Phone shop employee finds lead role in Marathi film ‘Vantass’

During the past 2 -3 years we have noticed many love stories in Marathi films set on the backdrop of rural Maharashtra. And therefore, there has been rising demand for new artistes belonging to such areas with rural accent. Producer Amol Baburao Lavate and director Dnyaneshwar Yadavrao Umak who are making a Marathi film ‘Vantass‘ were also in search of one such hero for their film, to meet the requirement of their rural based script of the film.
Their search for the hero ended when they found their right choice in young Akshay Mahulkar from Daryapur . Akshay Mahulkar , an employee in a mobile shop fitted into all the requirements of the film’s lead character of Bungya. In this film Akshay Mahulkar will be seen in romantic scenes with actress Heena Panchal. For Akshay Mahulkar , this role was like winning a lottery prize, as his financial condition was not so good. On many occasions, he didn’t even had money to reach the shooting locations from his place. The film ‘Vantass‘ is now all set for release on 4th May all over Maharashtra.
Marathi actor Santosh Juvekar to star Opposite Deepika Padukone

Popular Marathi Television and film actor Santosh Juvekar has bagged a lead role in Vishal Bharadwaj‘s next Hindi film ‘Rani‘ and that to opposite Bollywood’s top actress Deepika Padukone. The news was disclosed by a Marathi TV channel ABP Majha today. In this film Santosh Juvekar will play a Policeman and Deepika Padukone will play his wife. It is understood that Vishal Bharadwaj had shortlisted two actors for this role based on their auditions and both of them happened to be from Marathi film industry; namely Santosh Juvekar and Jitendra Joshi.
Finally, the choice of Santosh Juvekar was confirmed by the film maker and the news spread quickly among the well wishers of Santosh Juvekar, who has a big fan following, after performing as an angry young man in recent Marathi films. For the past few months, Santosh Juvekar has been very active to help the Thane Traffic Police in their mission to spread awareness among people about observing Traffic rules. So, this role of a Policeman will surely boost his morale.
The film also stars another top actor from Bollywood and he is Irrfan Khan. But, due to the ongoing treatment of Irrfan Khan due to his ailment, the shooting of this film will begin after some time. For Santosh Juvekar this is a big achievement and we at Marathi Movie World wish him all the best.
18th Sanskruti Kaladarpan Film Fest to begin with ‘Copy’

Marathi film ‘Copy‘ which has already created a buzz at different film festivals, prior to its official release, will be the opening film at the 18th Sanskruti Kaladarpan Film Festival, which is scheduled to begin soon. Earlier, this film was selected at Asian Film Festival and has received nomination for the best debut film in the 55th Maharashtra State Film awards. ‘Copy‘ was also in the semi finalist stage at the prestigious Los Angeles Cine Festival.
‘Copy‘ film, which is produced by Ganesh Ramchandra Patil and directed by Hemant Dhabade is set on the backdrop of mismanagement in education department in handling schools in villages. The village school shown in this film, represents all such schools scattered all over India in different villages. This being a universal subject handled in the film, it has received very good response from the film critics all over the world. The big star cast of this film comprises of Anshuman Vichare, Jagannath Nivangune, Kamlesh Sawant, Milind Shinde, Anil Nagarkar, Rahul Belapurkar, Ashutosh Wadkar, Neeta Donde, Poonam Rane, Shraddha Sawant, Pratiksha Sable, Vidya Bhagwat and others. Camera by Santaneo Terzio and music by Rohan-Rohan are the other credits.
‘Redu’ receives nine nominations for State Film Awards

Marathi film ‘Redu‘ which was selected for screening at prestigious film festivals has also received Arvindan Award from Kerala’s Chalat Chitra Academy. And now, this film has received 9 nominations at the State Film awards, including one declared award in best make up section for Shrikant Desai. The film ‘Redu‘ has also been shortlisted among the ten best films to be eligible for consideration of state award.
Director of this film Sagar Vanjhari is more than happy with this response for his film. “I am glad that my debut film ‘Redu’ has been considered for state awards with so many nominations and this makes me feel extremely pleased with this gesture,” he said. Another debutant Naval Kishore Sarda who has produced this film said that for a long time it was his wish to produce a film and with ‘Redu‘ that wish has not only been fulfilled but his dream for making a good quality film has also come true, with these nine nominations for the film.
Marathi film ‘Sorry’ shot at 45 locations in 7 states

Every Marathi film released now days has something special to offer. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Sorry’ also promises something unique.
