Sukhwinder Singh renders a Marathi song during the muhurat of film ‘Raja’
Besides its good content, Marathi films have also received recognition for their pleasant songs. Singer Sukhwinder Singh, who has created a distinct image for himself in Hindi film industry with his style of singing, had a song picturized on him for a Marathi film in the past. And now, for the muhurat of the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Raja‘ he rendered a song celebrating the occasion with great enthusiasm. Made under the Banner of ‘Satyasai Multimedia Pvt. Ltd‘, the film is produced by Pravin Kakad and Co-produced by Naresh Sakhre.
On this occasion, Member of Parliament Dr. Pritam Munde, Dr. Ajinkya D.Y.Patil (Chairman D.Y.Patil Group), Pravin Darade (Secretary to the Chief Minister), Additional Director General Surendra Pande, Dr. H. Khorakhiwala (Chairman Wockhardt Group), Additional Police Commissioner Pratap Dighavkar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ranjit Dhakne, Industrialist Gaurav Khade, Pravin Talreja and Dilip Patil, were present.
The wordings of the song rendered by Sukhwinder Singh are, ‘Raatbhar…. Gaavbhar….. Hovu De Bobhaata Jan Jan Janan Janan Vaajavu Jannaata‘. Sukhwinder Singh himself will be dancing to this number and the dance has been choreographed by Santosh Bhangre. The film ‘Raja‘ is based on the life of a pop singer. The story and the script is written by director Shashikant Deshpande, dialogues are by Milind Inamdar and Shashikant Deshpande. The songs, penned by Valay Mulgundh, are set to music by Pankaj Padghan. The star cast of the film comprises of Saurdeep Kumar, Swarada Joshi, Nishita Purandare, Sharad Ponkshe, Jaiwant Wadkar, Surekha Kudchi, Vineet Bonde and Pauras Deshpande have acted in this film. Cinematography is by Damodar Naidu.
गुढी पाडव्याच्या निमित्तावर सुरु होणार ‘गणपती बाप्पा मोरया’ या मालिकेचे दुसरे पर्व

Sanjay Mone plays wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed in ‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar’
We have seen veteran actor Sanjay Mone, performing variety of roles in his acting career. Originally a stage actor, Sanjay later found many roles in TV serials. Now, he is also seen in many Marathi films. Basically, known for his comedy, Sanjay is now being offered different types of roles. And, his latest role has been that of wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar‘, which is all set to release on 21st April 2017.
The film ‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar‘ has been set on the backdrop of three youngsters coming together to fight terrorism. Written by Australia based Marathi writer Ganesh Loke, the film ‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar‘ is directed by Prakash Jadhav. In this film, Sanjay Mone has special make up to give him the look of a terrorist leader. Sanjay Mone was himself surprised to see his new look in the mirror and couldn’t believe that his new look resembled a terrorist leader. The film also stars Shantanu Moghe, Bharat Ganeshpure, Sayaji Shinde and writer Producer Ganesh Loke himself.
Marathi film ‘Rashtra’ to present leaders like Raju Shetty & Ramdas Athavale
In the recent past, Marathi films have made tremendous progress, with realistic subjects. This has encouraged many Bollywood personalities and Politicians to make special appearance in Marathi films. Some of them have also produced films. Now, two politicians from Maharashtra, namely Dalit leader and M.P. Ramdas Athavale and Swabhiman Shetkari Sanghatna founder Raju Shetty will also be seen forthcoming Marathi film ‘Rashtra‘, shooting of which was held recently, at Raigad fort.
Both the politicians will be playing their real life characters in ‘Rashtra‘ film, which is being directed by Inderpal Singh, who has also written the script of this film. The director has earlier directed some Punjabi films. The film’s story is about the fight against caste politics and injustice on common man. Now, it remains to be seen, how the portrayal of these two leaders in the film’s team, would help in inviting the attention of film lovers.
Actress Seema Deo conferred with Zee Chitra Gaurav Lifetime achievement award
Veteran Marathi film actress Seema Deo, was recently conferred with Zee Chitra Gaurav Lifetime Achievement award, for her contribution to Marathi film industry. The award was presented to her by senior Marathi actress Sulochana, in presence of film maker Jabbar Patel, her sons Ajinkya Deo and Abhinay Deo. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Seema Deo expressed her gratitude to the audience for appreciating all her films and thanked the organizers for considering her name for this prestigious award. “Receiving this award from Sulochana Didi was also something special.” she said.
It may be recalled that Seema Deo impressed her admirers through Marathi as well as Hindi films, with her acting performance. Her films like ‘Jagachya Pathivar’, ‘Molkarin’, ‘Pathlag’, ‘Vardakshina’, ‘Saraswatichandra’, & ‘Anand’ need a special mention. She is still fit enough to perform and few years ago we saw her in 2010 film ‘Jetaa‘, when she displayed her acting skills, in presence of her husband. Her son Ajinkya Deo was also part of this film.
This year film ‘Sairat‘ bagged maximum Zee Chitra gaurav awards in different categories, including best film and direction. However, the best actor and best actress awards were bagged by Girish Kulkarni and Iravati Harshe for their performance in the films ‘Jaoo Dya Na Balasaheb’ and ‘Kasav’ respectively.
Finally, ‘Sangharsh Yatra’ to release on 14th April
The much awaited Marathi film ‘Sangharsh Yatra‘ , which was announced as a biopic on Late BJP leader Gopinath Munde, is finally releasing on 14th April 2017. Directed by Sakar Raut and produced by Suryakant Baji, Sandeep Ghuge, Mukund Kulkarni & Raju Baji, the film was scheduled for release last year, but could not be released, for some technical reasons . However, now the Censors have given their clearance to this film.
But now, the release date has been confirmed by them. The film was in the news last year, as Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra CM has rendered a song in ‘Sangharsh Yatra‘ film, written by Mandar Cholkar on the music of Shrirang Urhekar. The story , screenplay and dialogues have been written by Viraj Mule and Vishal Gharge, while Sanish Jairaj has done the cinematography of this film, with editing by Anant Kamat.
Gulshan Devaiah gets ready with his Marathi film ‘Daav’
Bollywood artistes getting attracted to perform in Marathi films is not new now. Till now, many Bollywood personalities have appeared in Marathi films with variety of roles. And, the Marathi audience also welcomed them. Now, the latest addition being Guklshan Devaiah, who was seen in Bollywood films like ‘Shaitaan‘,’Ram Leela‘ and ‘Hunterr‘ .
Guklshan Devaiah who is from Mumbai, did speak few words in Marathi in the film ‘Hunterr‘, but according to him this was not enough. So, when he was offered Marathi film ‘Daav‘, he seriously learned Marathi language and today, he can speak this language with ease. Guklshan Devaiah is very excited about ‘Daav‘ Marathi film, as he very much liked the script. Produced by Tony D’souza, Nitin Upadhay & Amul Mohan, ‘Daav‘ film is directed by Kanishk Verma. Now, it remains to be seen, how the Marathi audience would welcome his entry into Marathi.
Bhushan- Sanskruti film ‘Shivya’ set to release on 21st April
After attaining popularity through their TV serial ‘Pinjara’, Bhushan Pradhan and Sanskruti Balgude pair did a Marathi film ‘Nivdung’ together. And now, both will be seen in lead roles through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Shivya’, which is all set to release on 21st April 2017.
Directed by Sakar Raut, the film deals with the subject, where a person who is in a habit of uttering bad words in his day to life, is suddenly required to stop uttering bad words. What will be his condition and how he will restrain himself from using bad words, is what the film’s story is about. According to the director, it will be an interesting subject, as we notice majority of people using bad words, in today’s lifestyle.

Seven Marathi plays shortlisted for 17th SKD awards
‘Sanskruti Kaladarpan( SKD) Gaurav Rajani‘ is getting ready to present their awards in different categories such as Marathi films, plays and serials for the year 2017. This will be their 17th award function and this year, in Marathi plays section, seven plays have been shortlisted and their names are as follows: Ekdant production’s ‘Sakhar Khallela Manus‘, Anamika Production’s ‘Code Mantra‘, Ved Production’s ‘Ya Gojirvanya Gharaat‘, Avnish Production’s ‘Chhada‘, Jivhala Production’s ‘U Turn‘, Suyog/Jhelu Production’s ‘Teen Payanchi Sharyat‘ & Ved Production’s ‘Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin‘.
24 plays had taken part in the competition for SKD awards, from which these seven plays have been shortlisted. Ms. Kanchan Adhikari, Prajakta Kulkarni & Mr. Pramod Pawar were the judges, to shortlist the seven plays. The final round will be held at Yashwant Natyamandir between 8th and 10th April 2017. However, two of these seven plays, namely ‘U Turn‘ and ‘Teen Payanchi Sharyat‘ will not be shown during the final round, due to technical reasons. The plays during the final round will be presented at a concessional rates.
SKD founder Chandrashekhar Sandve and SKD president Archana Nevrekar have also announced that the names of 10 shortlisted Marathi films for the final competition, will be announced soon.
