‘F.U.- Friendship Unlimited’ Teaser Launched
Sometimes, before the release of a film, a lot of buzz is created through the clever strategy adopted by the makers of that film. This is happening in the case of forthcoming Marathi film ‘F.U.- Friendship Unlimited‘. Is this because of the unique title of the film or due to presence of ‘Sairat‘ fame hero Aakash Thosar. The exact reason will be known only after the release of this film. But, the launch of teaser of this film has surely created a new record, with more than 10 lakh viewership of this teaser on social networking sites in just one night.
Actually, the live launch of the teaser was held in Mumbai previous evening, in presence of artistes and other unit members of ‘F.U.- Friendship Unlimited’ film. The film is produced by Mahesh Manjrekar along with others and is directed by him and therefore it has special significance. Apart from Aakash Thosar, the film stars a big team of young artistes comprising of Satya Manjrekar, Mayuresh Pem, Shubham Kirodian, Madhav Devchakke, Pawandeep, Vaidehi Parshurami, Sanskruti Balgude, Swamini Wadkar, Riya Burman, Radha Sagar, Madhura Deshpande & Swarda Thigale. The team of senior artistes comprises of Sachin Khedekar, Medha Manjrekar, Sharad Ponkshe, Bharati Achrekar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Late Ashwini Ekbote along with Bollywood artistes Boman Irani and Isha Koppikar .
Now, John Abraham will produce Marathi film ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe’
After Akshay Kumar, Ajay Deogan, Priyanka Chopra, now it’s turn of John Abraham to associate with Marathi film industry. John Abraham made announcement recently about his debut Marathi film ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe‘ as a producer . The film has gone on the floors under the banner of his JA Entertainment and will star Subodh Bhave, Trupti Toradmal and Raqesh Bapat.
Incidentally, John has been a big fan of some of the Marathi films with a good story and his favourite Marathi film was ‘Dombivali Fast‘ as revealed by his mother, when MMW met her last time during the premiere of a Marathi film. Directed by Swapna Waghmare Joshi (‘Mitwa’ & ‘Fugay’ fame), ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe‘ is an adaptation of the famous Marathi play, ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe‘. So, it will be interesting to watch how skillfully Swapna Waghmare presents the cinematic version of this famous play.
Editing expert Nikhil Bhosale turns director with new Marathi film ‘Jalu’
Marathi films are known for their extraordinary subjects. Many a times, such subjects are called the ‘hero’ of such films. Nikhil Bhosale who has experience of editing popular TV programmes like ‘CID‘, ‘Aahat‘, ‘Madhali Sutti‘ and ‘Comedy Express‘ will now be making his debut as a director through new Marathi film ‘Jalu‘ , shooting of which will begin soon.
Produced by Ajitkumar Dhule under his Sai Nakshatra Productions, the film’s choreography is to be handled by renowned choreographer Phulwa Khamkar. The director will himself be doing the editing work of this film. Versatile artistes like Jyoti Subhash and Kamlesh Sawant will be performing important roles in ‘Jalu‘ film, with other artistes to be finalized soon. According to the makers of this film, the film’s realistic subject would inspire women.

Finest ‘Jugalbandi’ by Asha Bhosale & Sadhana Sargam for Marathi film ‘Hero’
Picturisation of songs based on ‘Jugalbandi‘ presented by two singers is not new to Bollywood; but surely, it is something new to Marathi films. And, that too if it is presented by two finest singers like legendary Asha Bhosale and popular singer Sadhana Sargam, it is certainly a big news. One such ‘Jugalbandi‘ has been presented by these two singers, which has been picturised on classical dance performance by two equally good dancing actresses Deepali Sayyad and Sukhada Khandkekar.
This song is part of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hero‘ directed by N.N.Siddiqui and the wordings of the song are ‘Dhinak Dhin Aag Laga Doon… Ga bai majha Tora Nakharel..‘ . Music of this Hindi-Marathi fusion song has been composed by Raja Ali, while the dance has been choreographed by Phulwa Khamkar. The other artistes of ‘Hero‘ film are, Ramesh Deo, Vijay Patkar, Uday Tikekar, Bhushan Patil & Vaishnavi Karmarkar.
Gashmeer Mahajani is fortunate to shoot at maximum foreign locations
Shooting at foreign locations is not new to Bollywood stars. But, when you find a Marathi actor who has shot at maximum foreign locations, it certainly becomes a news. And, the name of this Marathi actor is Gashmeer Mahajani. Gashmeer shot into fame with his debut Marathi film ‘Carry On Maratha‘ and soon grabbed roles in many Marathi films. During the past two years, four of his films were released. Out of these four films, Gashmeer Mahajani had an opportunity to shoot at foreign locations for his film ‘One way Ticket‘.
With ‘One way Ticket‘ Gashmeer Mahajani toured places like Italy Spain & France. And now, while shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar‘s film ‘Rubik’s Cube‘ he had an opportunity to shoot at beautiful location at Piran in Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland. And, at every place he has stayed at least for eight days. Isn’t that a big achievement for a Marathi star like him ? The places he liked the most were the beach of Piran and city of Bard in Italy.
Hrithik Roshan announces ‘Hrudayantar’ release date
We have often seen involvement of Bollywood stars during the promotion of Marathi films, to invite the attention of Marathi film lovers. Either they give clap of the muhurat shot or release the music of the film. Now, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan announced the release date of Bollywood fashion designer Vikram Phadnis Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar’ recently. It may be recalled that another Superstar Shahrukh Khan had given the muhurat clap of ‘Hrudayantar’ film.
Hrithik Roshan made announcement of the release date of this film as 9th June 2017, on social networking site, stating that he was proud to be associated with this film. The film stars Mukta Barve, Subodh Bhave and Sonali Khare in the lead roles. The film ‘Hrudayantar’ is jointly produced by Vikram Phadnis Productions and Young Berry Entertainment of Pratap Sarnaik and his son Purvesh Sarnaik and is directed by Vikram Phadnis himself.
‘Sangharshayatra’ and ‘Saha Gun’ released on Friday 14th
If any Marathi film is releasing on a bank holiday, it has certain advantages, as you get the next two days as week end holidays. 14th April is a bank holiday and therefore we find two simultaneous releases in the form of ‘Sangahrshayatra‘ and ‘Saha Gun‘. Both these films have different subjects. While ‘Sangharshayatra‘ is a biopic on late Gopinath Munde, the popular politician; ‘Saha Gun‘ deals with a sensitive subject of high expectations of Parents from their children, while they are in school.
In ‘Sangharshayatra‘ we find many popular faces from Hindi and Marathi television like Sharad Kelkar, Shruti Marathe, Girish Pardeshi, Dipti Bhagwat are playing important characters with Saharad playing the role of Late Gopinath Munde, while ‘Saha Gun‘ presents ‘Killa‘ fame Archit Deodhar and Amruta Subhash playing the Son and Mother duo for the second time and their characters are the most important characters in this film. Sunil Barve and Atul Todankar are also part of this film. ‘Sangharshayatra‘ is directed by Sakar Raut, while ‘Saha Gun‘ is directed by Kiran Sabaji Gawade.
Now, it remains to be seen which film succeeds in attracting the audience to the cinema halls.
Music of Arun Nalawade directed film ‘Tatva’ launched
As an actor Arun Nalawade has already established himself on small as well as big screen. All his Marathi films had very good content, be it in films like ‘Shwaas‘, ‘Tahan‘, ‘Majhi Shala‘ or latest released film ‘Braveheart‘. Now, Mr. Arun Nalawade has directed a Marathi film ‘Tatwa’ which is due for release on 26th May 2017.
Produced by Dr. Sharayu Pazare, the music of this film was launched recently by Legendary singer Anuradha Paudwal.While speaking on the occasion, Singer Anuradha Paudwal said that along with a beautiful storyline, the songs have added a lot of colour to the movie. She wished the film a great success. “Yearning for newer experiences, each one of us should develop our individuality. This is the message that Dr. Sharayu Pazare has sincerely tried to spread,” she added.
The film stars Sanjay Shejwal and Gauri Konge as the lead pair. Along with them we have Arun Nalawade, Dr. Sharayu Pazare, Devendra Dodke, Dr. Sarita Gharde, Vikrant Borkar, Sheetal Raut, Nutan Dhavne, Sadanand Borkar, Kamalakar Borkar, Manjusha Joshi and child artiste Gauri. ‘Tatva’ has been shot at Chandrapur.
17th SKD Film festival to present 11 best Marathi films
Sanskruti Kala Darpan Gaurav Rajani, which is in its 17th year, have announced the list of their final 11 films, which will compete with each other at their Film Festival scheduled on 18th and 19th April 2017 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi. This 17th SKD Film festival will open with National award winning Marathi film ‘Dashakriya‘ followed by films like ‘Ghuma‘, ‘Kaasav‘, ‘Naatee‘, ‘Khel‘, ‘Machivarla Budha‘, ‘Ventilator‘, ‘Half Ticket‘ & ‘Vazandar‘.
All the above mentioned films will be screened with special ticket rates of Rs. 50/- for the film lovers. During the screening of these films, the artistes of these films will also be present, which will give an opportunity to the audience to meet them personally. Rest of the three films also selected, namely, ‘Guru‘, ‘Poshter Girl‘ & ‘Kiran Kulkarni V/s Kiran Kulkarni‘, will not be screened for technical reasons. The 11 films shortlisted, have been selected from 47 films. Mr. Chandrashekhar Sandve and Ms. Archana Nevrekar the heads of SKD have already announced a prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh to the winner in this category.
