‘Sairat’ fame Aakash Thosar gets ready with his second film

Aakash Thosar, who attained popularity after release of his debut film ‘Sairat‘ is now getting ready with his second Marathi film ‘F.U.‘ s release on 2nd June 2017. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film’s teaser poster was released recently by Bollywood star Salman Khan. The poster of the film clearly indicates that it is a style film of the popular hero for the youth.

According to the makers of  ‘F.U.’ film, the next poster of the film will be released on social networking sites on 14th April 2017 at 11.35 am. Now, it remains to be seen, whether Aakash Thosar will be seen in his new look on this poster. Even otherwise, this film has raised high expectations from the Marathi film lovers. By the way, there are other artistes in the film, but the focus is only on Aakash Thosar.

Love stories have always appealed Marathi film lovers. But, to present love stories, one needs special skills to keep the audience engaged. Now, producer Pankaj Gupta and director Suchita Shabbir are offering a love story through their Marathi film ‘Kaay Jhala Kalana‘, which was launched with muhurat recently. The makers of  ‘Kaay Jhala Kalana‘ film promise a gripping love story with a message for the young generation.

The director herself has written the story of  ‘Kaay Jhala Kalana‘ film, with screenplay Kiran Kulkarni & Pallavi Karkera. Dialogues are penned by Rahul More, while lyrics are by Madhuri Ashirghade & Valay Mulgund. Music is by Pankaj Padghan with prominent singers like Aadarsh Shinde, Urmila Dhangar, Sayali Pankaj, Rohit Raut, Rupali Moghe and Saurabh Salunke rendering their voices for the songs, for this musical love story. The film stars Arun Nalawade, Sanjay Khapre, Vandana Vaknis, Girija Prabhu, Kalpana Jagtap, Swapnil Kale, Shraddha Surve and Hemali Karekar.

Cinematography by Suresh Deshmane and editing by Rajesh Rao are other credits of the film.

‘Gopya’ promises entertainment with a relevant message

Today, Marathi films are focused more on sending across a relevant message, besides offering entertainment. Ganesh Film & Entertainment’s film ‘Gopya‘ also promises the same. Recently, music launch and first look of this forthcoming Marathi film was held in Mumbai, in presence of artistes and technical team of the film. The film ‘Gopya‘ is produced by a team of Amol Bhalerao, Nitin Pagare and Raj Paithankar and co-produced by Sarjerao Mote, Atulraje Gayali , Dhanaji Gaikwad & Subhash Jagadhne and directed by Raj Paithankar, who has also written the story and lyrics of this film.

After introducing the people behind making ‘Gopya‘ film, the big group of artistes comprising of Madhavi Juvekar, Kamlesh Sawant, Manisha Paithankar, Aditya Paithankar, Rajesh Bhosle, Prakash Dhotre, Amir Tadwalkar, Manasi Murudkar and Ajit Jadhav were also introduced. The film also stars Uday Sabnis, Jaywant Wadkar, Ajay Jadhav, Sameer Vijayan. Few songs from this film were also shown to the invitees. Kiran-Raj have composed the songs on the lyrics of Yogesh Sabnis.

The film’s Cinematography is by Aniket K while Art Direction is by Devdatt Raut and Nandu Moharkar. Chetan is the choreographer, Sonu Paithankar has designed the sound for the film while Vishal Kotkar has edited the film.

Now, Marathi International Film Festival in Sweden

Marathi films have gone worldwide. We have seen Marathi entertainment awards held in different parts of the world. So, don’t be surprised if Marathi film festivals are held in Sweden. Yes, Sweden Film Association and Winson World are organizing Marathi International Film Festival in Stockholm, Sweden between 20th and 24th April 2017, when 20 films will be screened.

The festival will open with the Premiere of Anant Mahadevean’s film ‘Dr.Rakhmabai‘, followed by films like ‘Harischandrachi Factory‘, ‘Astu‘, ‘Ek Hazarachi Note‘, ‘Fandry‘, ‘Ek Albela, ‘Vazandar‘, ‘Mee Sindhutai Sapkal‘, ‘Natee Khel‘, ‘Natasamrat‘, ‘Half Ticket‘, ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali‘, ‘Kasav‘, ‘Dr. Prakash Baba Amte‘, ‘Mala Aai Vhaychay‘,  ‘Sanhita‘, ‘Rama Madhav‘, ‘The Silence‘ and ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’.

Marathi film ‘Kasav‘ produced by Sumitra Bhave, Sunil Sukthankar and Mohan Agashe has won Golden Lotus National award for best film at 64th National awards declared on Friday, while Priyanka Chopra‘s first Marathi film ‘Ventilator‘ as a Producer has bagged three national awards. In the regional film category awards, film ‘Dashakriya‘ was declared the best Marathi film. The director of the film ‘Ventilator‘ Mr. Rajesh Mapuskar has won the award for Best direction, Rameshwar Bhagat won the award for best editing, while Alok De won the Best Sound design award, bringing a big smile on the face of their celebrity producer. The technical team in the presence of director Rajesh Mapuskar celebrated this happy occasion, by cutting the Victory cake late in the evening.

It may be recalled that this film had many well known artistes from Marathi film, television and Drama field to bring humour into this emotion filled film on a thought provoking subject. Highlight of the film was return of Ashutosh Gowarikar as an actor in ‘Ventilator‘ film, playing an important role. Well Known Bollywood artiste Boman Irani was seen in a special appearance , while Priyanka Chopra was also seen in a guest appearance. The film had received good response from Marathi film lovers and now these three National awards are sure to raise the morale of the entire team.

Poetry has always played an important role in Marathi literature. In many Marathi films in the past, we have seen reference of important happenings in the film’s story through poems. Even in Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is known for narrating poems. In the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Braveheart well known poet and actor Kishore Kadam also known as Saumitra, has narrated one such poem in his own voice, which is a tribute to film’s brave hero Nikhil.

The meaningful poem is written lyricist Shrikant Bojewar, who has also written the screenplay and dialogues of ‘Braveheartfilm. Produced by Sachhidanand Karkhanis and Santosh Mokashi, the film is directed by Dasbabu. Popular stage and TV actor Sangram Samel is making his debut through this film.The other important roles in ‘Braveheart film are played by Arun Nalawade, Dhanashree Kadgaonkar, Ila Bhate, Dr. Vilas Ujavane, Kishore Pradhan, Late Sulbha Deshpande, Abhay Kulkarni, Vijay Chavan, Kshama Ninave, Swamikumar Banavlikar & Master Atharv Talvelkar.

After becoming popular on small screen through their serial ‘Pinjara‘, Bhushan Pradhan and Sanskruti Balgude had worked in a film ‘Nivdung‘. But, now they are returning with a humor filled film ‘Shivya‘, which is all set to release on 21st April 2017. The film has two songs. The title song is rendered by Aniruddha Joshi on the music of Shrirang Urhekar, while the romantic song has been rendered by singer Javed Ali and Sonali Dutta on the music of Manoj Tikaria.

On Monday evening, music of ‘Shivya‘ film was launched in presence of lead pair and team members of the film including young producers- Dhwani Sakar Raut, Nilesh Zope, Mihir Karkare, Aashay Palekar & director Sakar Raut. Teaser of the film was also launched on this occasion. Besides Bhushan Pradhan and Sanskruti Balgude, the film also stars Piyush Ranade, Vidyadhar Joshi, Uday Sabnis, Shubhangi Latkar.

Summer vacation is the right time to exploit the hidden talent in children. And, if there is any workshop which would entertain them, it is Drama workshop. Marathi actresses Madhura Velankar and Rujuta Deshmukh have come forward to conduct one such Drama workshop for children between 17th and 29th April 2017. It will be held at Sathye College, which is a hub for cultural activities.

Both Madhura Velankar and Rujuta Deshmukh have been associated with acting field for the past 18 years and they conducted their first such workshop in the 2015, which received overwhelming response. At that time, they had to take an extra batch. Now, keeping this demand in mind, this time, their workshop will be split into three sessions. Besides Madhura and Rujuta, Madhura Velankar‘s mother Rajani Velankar and renowned choreographer Deepali Vichare will also be associated in conducting this workshop.

Raj Paithankar’s ‘Gopya’ to release soon

Till now, we have seen many Marathi films highlighting the problems of children during their childhood. Right from ‘Ha Majha Marg Ekala‘ in 1962 till ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi‘ and ‘Killa‘ we have seen children oriented Marathi films with sensible subjects. Now, Producers Amol Bhalerao, Nitin Pagare and Raj Paithankar under the banner of Ganesh Filmas and Entertainment will be presenting one more child oriented subject film with the title ‘Gopya‘, which is directed by Raj Paithankar.

Gopya‘ film revolves around a child Gopi, whose father is addicted to alcohol and mother working as a labourer to meet the requirements of her son’s education. . It is the story of Mother’s struggle to offer education to her beloved son. Aditya Paithankar plays the child artiste Gopi, while the other two lead artistes of the film are, Madhavi Juvekar, Kamalesh Sawant along with Manisha Paithankar, Manasi Murudkar, Uday Sabnis, Ajay Jadhav,  Sameer Vijayan,  Rajesh Bhosale, Prakash Dhotre, Amir Tadwalkar, Niwas More and Jaywant Wadkar. Music by Kiran Raj and cinematography by Aniket K are the other credits.
