Bollywood artistes join Priyadarshan & Prajakta in their film ‘Dhingana’

In the recent past, we have seen many Bollywood personalities forming part of Marathi films. And now, to add to that list will be popular Bollywood artistes Raza Murad, Shahbaaz Khan, Avtaar Gill and Kunika. All of them will be seen in Sameer Sadanand Patil’s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dhingana’ directed by Chandrakant Dudhgaonkar. The film is at present in the post production stage.

All these Bollywood artistes will form the star cast of the film headed ‘TimePass-2‘ fame actor Priyadarshan Jadhav and Comedy Queen of small screen Prajakta Hanamghar. The other lead artistes of this film are, Anshuman Vichare & Swapnil Rajshekhar. Story of this film has been scripted by Hemant Edlabadkar, which music is provided by Shashank Powar and AmitRaj. According to the makers of this film, this will be a musical entertainment. Now, it remains to be seen, whether Priyadarshan will be able to generate Time Pass entertainment, in the company of Prajakta.

Makarand Mane & Mahesh Kale impress at National Awards

Film maker Makarand Mane is a happy man. His debut Marathi film ‘Ringan-The Quest‘ has been declared ‘Best Marathi Film‘ at the 63rd National film awards, announced on Monday. Another Marathi film personality and classical singer, Mahesh Kale has also impressed, by winning the Best Singer’s National award, for the popular Marathi film ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali‘.

Another award comes to ‘Daaravtha‘ a short film Starring Nishant Bhavsar, Nandita Patkar and Anurag Worlikar. The director of this film Nishant Roy Bombarde has won the best debut director’s award. Film maker Nagraj Manjule has also one more feather in his cap. This year, one artiste from his film ‘Sairat‘, Rinku Rajguru bagged the Special appreciation National award, for her performance in this film. ‘Lai Bhari‘ fame Marathi actress Tanvi Azmi bagged the best supporting actress National award , for her performance in the film ‘Bajirao Mastani‘.

This year, the best Indian film national award went to ‘Bahubali- The Beginning‘, while the best actor and best actress went to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan & Kangana Ranaut, for their performances in the films ‘Piku‘ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns‘ respectively.

‘Halal’ is inviting all the attention for its subject

Now days, women oriented subjects in Marathi films are inviting attention of the film lovers. And, if they are based on realistic subjects, the critics also acclaim such films.  Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Halal’ has already won the best screenplay award at Pune International film festival. The film also received good response at Aurangabad International film festival, where it was screened, recently. The film will now be screened at Sanskruti Kaladarpan Film festival, having been shortlisted among 11 films, for the final round.

Directed by National award winning film director Shivaji Lotan Patil, the film deals with the theme of loyalty, love and the institution of marriage, which is deemed to be pious by society.  It is also a story of human emotions, which depicts the trials and tribulations the women in our society have to go through. Starring Chinmay Mandlekar, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Pritam Kagne, Vijay Chavan, Chhaya Kadam, & Vimal Mhatre.  Produced by Amol Kagne and Laxman Kagne the script of the film is written by Nishant Dhapse.  DOP is Ramani Ranjandas, editing by Nilesh Gavand & Music by Vijay Gatlewar are the other credits

‘Bus Stop’ shooting progresses

Now days, Marathi films are in search of English names for their film’s title. ‘Poshter Girl’,’Mumbai Time’, ‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’, ‘Friends’, ‘Lost & Found’ & ’ Cheater’ are the names of some of the films, released recently and few of them to be released soon. Now, there is one more addition to these titles, in the form of ‘Bus Stop’.

Producers Shreyash Jadhav , Poonam Shende, Mr. Gajendra Patil & Mr.Asso Nihlani are busy completing their film ‘Bus Stop’ which is written and directed by Sameer Hemant Joshi, whose last film was ‘Mamachya gavala Jaoo Ya’ . This multi starrer film stars young artistes like Aniket Vishwasrao, Pooja Sawant, Amruta Khanvilkar , Siddharth Chandekar , Hemant Dhome , Akshay Waghmare , Rasika Sunil , Suyog Gorhe & Madhura Deshpande.The film is likely to release this year.

Vaidehi Parshurami steals the show during ‘Vrundavan’ media meet

Six years ago, as a teenager, she made her debut opposite Adinath Kothare, in the film ‘Ved Lavi Jeeva‘. But, the film wasn’t distributed properly. Then, three years ago, she played a role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s film ‘Kokanastha‘. But, even this film didn’t do well. But, now Vaidehi Parshurami is well prepared to make her presence felt, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Vrundavan‘ in the lead role, opposite Raqesh Bapat. The film also stars Pooja Sawant in a parallel role.

On Friday evening, the makers of ‘Vrundavan had arranged a media meet, to introduce the stars of the film, as well as the music team, comprising of music director Amitraj, singer Avadhoot Gupte and others. Trailer of the film, along with two songs from the film, which have already become hits, on Marathi music channels. And, all these scenes, the actress who invited all the attention, was Vaidehi Parshurami.

Specially dressed for the occasion, with her designer outfit, she looked gorgeous, sporting constant smile on her face. She was accompanied by her mother. It may be recalled that Vaidehi has done her post graduation with kathak and is at presently studying her law. Her film ‘Vrundavan is all set to release on 8th April 2016. And, this time, she is all prepared to display her talent.

Teaser of ‘Ganvesh’ receives good response


Vijayate Entertainment’s Marathi film ‘Ganvesh’ is now all set to release. The teaser of this film, released on social networking sites has been receiving good response. And, this clearly indicates that the film has good talented artistes, besides a touching tale of a school boy, who gets selected to give a speech during  the Independence day programme at his school. But, the child is asked to compulsorily wear a new school uniform, on this occasion.

The struggle of the poor parents of this child, who work in a brick manufacturing unit, is shown in the film. There are two more important characters in the film, comprising of  a veteran minister and a lady police officer, played by Dilip Prabhavalkar & Mukta Barve. Kishore Kadam and Smita Tambe play the parents of the little schoolboy , while the role of the schoolboy is played by child artiste Tanmay Mande. So, after ‘Partu’, Kishore Kadam and Smita Tambe will be seen once again portraying the role of poor parents.  The other artistes of the film are, Nagesh Bhosle, Guru Thakur & Ganesh Yadav.

The promotion of this film has just begun, with Kishore Kadam, Smita Tambe & producer director Atul Jagdale   interacting with the students of Balmohan Vidyamandir School on Tuesday afternoon. The school has already produced many good sportsperson and artistes .

Singer turned music director Shaan releases music of ‘Reti’

Popular Bollywood singer Shaan has always been part of Marathi songs. But, with the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Reti‘, he has also turned a music director. In absence of lead actor Chinmay Mandlekar, it was Shaan, who was the centre of attraction, during music release of this film and he also released the music. The other important artistes of this film, namely Kishore Kadam, Gayatri Soham, were however present for this function, along with producer Pramod Gore, director Suhas Bhosale, writer Deven Kapadnis & lyricist Sanjay Krishnaji Patil.

Shaan has provided music of this film, along with Roshan Balu & Gaurav Dasgupta. The other artistes of this film are, Shashank Shende, Suhas Palshikar, Deepak Karanjikar, Mausami Tondvalkar, Bhagyashree Rane and others. ‘Reti‘ as the title suggests, will expose the sand mafias in Maharashtra. The film is all set release on 8th April 2016.

Producer director Anil Waghmare to present a suspense filled horror film ‘Bhutkaal’

Suspense filled horror films are not regularly seen in Marathi, compared to Hindi films. But, still some Marathi film makers feel that such films do find good audience.  No wonder,  Producer director Anil Waghmare under the banner of Sairaj Media, is presenting a new Marathi film titled ‘Bhutkaal’

The film also offers a fresh pair of chocolate boy Bhushan Pradhan and versatile actress Hemangi Kavi Dhumal together for the first time. The story of the film revolves around a young boy , a science student; who visits his native place during vacation, but comes across  some strange happenings. The suspense of this film unfolds in picturesque Konkan area. According to the makers of this film, their film banks on beautiful photography, fine performances and special effects used to create an impact on the audience. The title of the film clearly suggests that it has something to do with the past life.

Cinematographer turned Producer Amol Gole , director Prasad Namjoshi and presenter Bipin Shah launched the music of their much awaited film ‘Rangaa Patangaa on Friday evening in Mumbai. On this occasion, the first look of this film, besides the two songs in this film, were played for the invitees, including media persons. Producer Amol Gole, looked very happy and narrated his experience at the Pune International Film festival. Incidentally, the film has won the best film and best director’s award at this festival, held recently.

The film presents an interesting story of a poor farmer Jumman( Makarand Anaspure) , who goes in search of his 2 missing bulls, whose names are Rangaa & Patangaa. What he and his close friend ( Sandeep Pathak) experience during this journey, is what the film is all about. The film also stars popular TV artistes Nandita Dhuri, Umesh Jagtap & Bharat Ganeshpure. Due for release on 1st April 2016, the film has interesting music by Kaushal Inamdar, though the film has only two songs.

Mrunalini Bhosale’s debut film ‘Kapuskondyachi Goshta’ to release on 1st April

After receiving global acclaim at various international film festivals and winning the ‘Best Film Award‘ at Queensland International Film Festival, Australia, Mrunalini Bhosale’s much awaited sensible Marathi film ‘Kapuskondyachi Goshta‘ will finally release in theatres in Maharashtra, on 1st April 2016. After winning two national awards for her short films, this is Mrunalini’s debut film, which is produced by Nitin Bhosale, under the banner of Venkateshwara Films International.

The film has already won critical acclaim for presenting an inspiring subject, showing the positive way of facing the tragedy. It is a woman oriented film, revolving around a young girl Jyoti , who comes forward to take care of her three sisters, after her father , who is a farmer commits suicide and her mother is murdered. The film narrates an interesting story of these four sisters and their courage to face the misfortune with hard work.

In this film talented Sameedha Guru plays the central character of Jyoti, along with popular artistes like Makarand Anaspure, Bharat Ganeshpure, Gauri Kange, Mohini Kulkarni & child artiste Netra Mali. Story and dialogues are by Prasad Namjoshi, while music is by Shailesh Dani. DOP is Wasim Maner and editing is by Santosh Gothoskar.
