Ramesh Bhatkar & Ashok Shinde together in Marathi film ‘Charlie is back’
Ramesh Bhatkar and Ashok Shinde are two veterans of Marathi film industry. But, they are still evergreen and fit enough to perform any type of role. We have witnessed their enthusiasm in recently concluded Marathi TV serial ‘Majhe Pati Soubhagyavati‘. Now, both of them will be seen together in prominent roles in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Charlie Is Back‘, muhurat of which was performed with the blessings of Lalbaugcha Raja,during the auspicious Ganapati festival.
Directed by Prakash Bhalekar, his film will be a tribute to world famous actor Charlie Chaplin and hence will offer complete entertainment, according to the makers. Besides Ashok Shinde and Ramesh Bhatkar the film also stars Sushant Shelar, Pooja Sawant, Sara Shravan, Rupesh Palav and Junior Charlie in lead roles. The film is produced by Santukrao Kolte, Vinod Vaishnav & Somnath Swabhavne.
Music release of film ‘Rairand’ held in Chinchwad
We have been hearing about music releases of Marathi films either being held in Mumbai, Pune or other big cities of Maharashtra. But, the music release of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Rairand‘ was held in Chinchwad, Pune, that too on the platform of Pimpri Chinchwad Mahanagar Salesman Union. While releasing the music of this film, Beti Bachao Andolan Chief Dr. Ganesh Rakh said that if the child labour turn towards education, after watching this film, it will be a biggest award for this film, which will be much bigger than the Oscars. Many dignitaries along with the entire star cast of this film were present on this occasion.
‘Rairand‘ has been produced by New Talent Search Movies and Samruddhi Movies and was shot in Puntamba in Nagar District of Maharashtra. The film throws light on the lives of Wanderers and child labourers in Maharashtra . There are two songs in this film, penned by Ashish Ningurkar and Bhavesh Londhe and music has been provided by Vikas Joshi. The film stars Anant Jog, Ranjit Kamble, Shyamkumar Shrivastav, Ashish Ningurkar, Karan Kadam, Anand Wagh, Ajit Pawar, Pravin Bhabal, Sunil Jain, Suresh Dabhade, Rekha Nirmal, Gorakh Pathare, Zakir Khan, Nana Shinde, Santosh Choradia and Anurag Ningurkar.
Speaking about this film, writer Asish Ningurkar said, “Music plays very important role in Marathi films. And I am sure, the two songs in this film would appeal to the audience. Subject of this film being on social issue, we will be visiting foreign countries, to create awareness about this film’s subject among Marathi people living abroad. “
Actress Amruta Patki to give science lessons
Glamorous actress & Miss India 2006 Amruta Patki is now days busy giving science lessons to students, to create interest in them about this subject. This is part of promotion of her forthcoming Marathi film ‘Kaul Manacha‘ , which is all set to release on 21st October 2016. The film is being produced by Shree Sadichha Films , presented by Red Berry Entertainment and directed by Bhimrao Mude.
Speaking about her role in ‘Kaul Manacha’ film, Amruta Patki says, “My character in this film has a different shade. I am playing a teacher, who is trying her best to understand the inclination of the children in different fields. Proper counselling is necessary, to understand their interests. The film makes a statement about this issue, which is so relevant.”
Besides Amruta, the film also stars Rajesh Shringarpure, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Milind Gunaji, Vijay Chavan, Jaywant wadkar, Vijay Gokhale, Varsha Dandale, Kamlesh Sawant, Shweta Pendse, Ashutosh Gaikwad and others.
Now, Nitin Manmohan will also produce a Marathi film
After witnessing Bollywood bigwigs like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ajay Devgan and Priyanka Chopra entering production of Marathi film, now popular Bollywood film maker Nitin Manmohan has also decided to make a Marathi film. Nitin had earlier produced super hit Bollywood films like ‘Baghi‘, ‘Laadla‘,’Bol Radha Bol‘,’Bhoot‘,’Yamla Pagla Deewana‘, ‘Dus‘ and others.
Through his ‘One Up Productions‘ Nitin Manmohan is all set to launch new faces in the star cast of this forthcoming Marathi film . At present the production is in search of these faces. Dilip Prabhavalkar all praise for Vandana Gupte
Vandana Gupte’s own production ‘Family Katta‘ directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni is all set to release on 7th October 2016. The entire cast of ‘Family Katta‘ was introduced to media on Monday evening, by the makers of this film. So, lead artistes Dilip Prabhavalkar, Vandana Gupte, Sai Tamhankar, Sachin Deshpande, Kiran Karmarkar, Gauri Nalawade, Prateeksha Lonkar, Alok Rajwade were all there to interact with the media persons. Vandana Gupte’s sisters Bharati Achrekar and Rani Verma were also present on this occasion.
Dilip Prabhavalkar in particular, was all praise for Vandana Gupte, for managing the team well during the entire shooting schedule of the film. ” Besides producing this film, she is playing the most important role of my wife in this film. It is the most difficult and different role. But, she has played it confidently,” he said.
Vandana Gupte too praised all the artistes and said that each artiste perfectly suited in the characters played by them. Singer Yogita Godboley renders devotional song for Ganapati with a difference
Singer Yogita Godboley earned name and fame after rendering hit songs in Marathi films like ‘Agabai Arechcha‘, ‘Lai Bhari‘ and song in Hindi film ‘Traffic Signal‘. She was also associated with Ajay Atul music group. Now, on the occasion of Ganapati festival, Yogita Godboley has rendered a devotional song in praise of the Lord, which is based on the wordings of Saint Samarth Ramdas 400 years ago. Lyricist Nachiket Jogchi has cleverly used the combination for this song ‘Omkara Tava Roop Manohar..‘ on the music of Jitendra Kulkarni.
Video of this song, which has been released on social networking site, has been shot at Pune’s Bedekar Ganapati Mandir and other places. This devotional song invites attention of all, for being different in all respects, be it music or the way the singer has rendered the song and the way it has been presented. After this song, Yogita wants to offer many such new songs to music lovers.
Last Date for entries for Science based One Act plays competition extended till 15th Sept.
Marathi Vigyan Parishad and Cultural Department, Maharashtra Government will be organising a state level One act play competition, based on science. The last date for giving the entries has been extended up to 15th September 2016 to accommodate more teams.
The competition is divided into two groups. The First group will be for students studying in 8th std and up to Graduation level, while the second group is open to all. The subject of the play will be based on the subject of science and about the inventions made by scientists. There will be three prizes to be given in each group. The first prize will be of Rs. 31,000/- followed by second and third prizes of Rs. 21,000/- and Rs. 11,000/- respectively. There will be separate prizes for Writer, director, best actor, best actress, music and decor/lighting. According to the organisers, in case there are no sufficient entries for the first round, there will be held at Zonal level.

Music Media Cinevision enters Marathi music with ‘Nad khula Manjula’
Marathi music has become very popular with songs from the film ‘Katyar Kaljaat Ghusali‘ and ‘Sairat‘. And, this has also increased the demand for musical albums. Recently, a new company Music Media Cinevision formed by Rohini Prafull has also entered the music industry. Their first music album ‘Nad Khula Manjula‘ is now ready, which is picturised on actress Sara Shravan and actor Abhishek Banerjee. Written by K.Prafull, the music and playback is by Shyam Sagar.
After this song, Music media Cinevision are all set to release an album during Navaratri and are also engaged in 9 more music albums. They are also gearing up to produce their first Marathi film, shooting of which will begin by end of this year. They have already recorded a Ghazal for this film, in the voice of renowned singer Hariharan.

Playback singers turning music directors, is not new to Marathi film industry. In the past, many singers have turned music directors, when they had such an opportunity. But, in the case of Ketaki Mategaonkar, this is a big news. The popular celebrity singer has also turned an actress, with few films to her credit.
